Went in as a walk-ins with 3 'kids' (21/22/23yo) for their 'summer vacation tattoo session'. We were welcomed and taken care of right away. From design through the entire tattoo process, it took us about 1.5 hours for 5 people and a total of 8 small tattoos to be completed. Staff was overly nice. Please is clean, nicely decorated. My artist (matt) was awesome, fast and precise. We weren't over charged being last minute tourists in a touristy area, everything was reasonable. I will go back again for more work! read more

My girlfriend and I went in together to get tattoos done by two different artists, and the difference in experience and quality couldn't have been more obvious. The first artist (Chris), who did my tattoo (left), seemed unhappy from the start and honestly didn't appear interested in doing the work. He was very rough, rushed through it, and showed little care or attention to detail. The process was uncomfortable to the point that it left noticeable scarring, and the final result reflects that lack of care. Based on my experience, I would not return to or recommend this artist. The second artist, Drew, who did my girlfriend's tattoo (right), was the complete opposite. He took his time, was patient, detail-oriented, and clearly cared about the quality of his work. The linework is clean, the tattoo healed well, and the overall experience was exactly what you'd hope for when getting permanent art done. I would go back to him again in a heartbeat. Same shop, same day -- two very different outcomes. If you're considering this place, who you book with makes all the difference. read more

I got two tattoos here at this shop and they turned out very beautifully, I definitely recommend this place.

Amazing tattoo shop! Very talented artist who will give you or help you figure out an amazing tattoo design. The shop is located in a cool spot in downtown Temecula. The shop is clean, plenty to look at, and always good music (it's important while you're getting tatted). Definitely worth coming in and getting a consultation, these guys do it all, if you have an idea they can create an original design. If you want something quick they have some fun tattoo games or lots of traditional designs. Highly recommend stopping by. read more

Old Town Tattoo - Carl tattooing original design - Tattoo Near Me - Temecula, California

My 2x1 13 Old English font tattoo was created by Carl Womack I was considering getting a tattoo for a while, a friend offered to treat me to a tattoo for my birthday. And so I came in with a friend after lunch to ask some questions about allergic reactions to ink, and get a ball park price range of the tattoo of interest. I spoke with Carl Womack, the shop owner who answered all questions and concerns. He is both understanding and knowledgeable. Importantly, Carl has 13 years of work experience under his belt this shows his patience and dedication. I found this tattoo would be symbolic for him as well given that little known fact. During my consultation and getting the tattoo done I was a bit nervous and shaken up. While he kept a calm demeanor. When I walked in with questions prior to my walk-in tattoo session, he had given my friend and I a price quote given the size and detail of the tattoo. I was pleasantly surprised to find that when I had walked in for my tattoo session an hour or so later, he had kept the quoted price. After deciding what font and placement I'd like to have on my skin Carl showed me all materials in front of me on a tray, he then disinfected my skin and this was all in a sterile environment. I noticed in "Old Town Tattoo" parlour Carl Womack incorporates use of modern technology. Following I showed him a few inspiration pictures of what I would like my tattoo to look like he then pulled up various fonts and we went over them one by one. I let him know I also trusted his artistic eye for placement and style. He made sure I felt confident in my choice and complimented my taste. I did change my mind after my consultation on the kind of font I would like and he was able to quickly adapt and be on the same page as me when it came to changing the font of numbers we were looking to do. He's incredibly flexible, very confident that he could execute what I was asking of him. I looked away as he started my tattoo because I don't like looking at needles, I did some meditative deep breaths to calm down I had a nice chat with the shop owner's cousin. Carl assured me that I wasn't shaking as he did the tattoo and that if I was he would make sure to hold my arm straight. I noticed that he worked at comfortable pace. He really took care of clients and didn't rush his work. I noticed as he did the outline then began to shade in the tattoo, he periodically would clean his work. He had a very steady hand and to wipe periodically to focus on what areas he had not filled in when shading. I really appreciate the attention to detail. My tattoo was completed in 10-15 minutes. After my tattoo was finished, I noticed the machine was so loud it affected my hearing. The shop owner's cousin believed my blood sugar was low so he handed me a white chocolate dipped peanut butter Reese's Easter themed candy shaped like a egg. I enjoyed it and it did help calm me down a bit. He asked if I was allergic to adhesive, then told me about the newest advancements when it comes to the tattoo industry in relations to aftercare. There's a new wrap that acts as a second skin that covers the tattoo in a protective barrier to make the healing process easier. I am allergic so he told me how to go about aftercare as my arm was wrapped with Saran wrap and "A+D" ointment. Carl told me to reach out to him if I had an allergic reaction to the ink after my "spot test" tattoo. Carl has great interpersonal skills. The over all goal of a tattoo artist is the ability to turns clients ideas into reality. In other words, Carl has a flair for design and creativity, for example he creates tattoo flash sheets with unique pieces of art. I can't wait to come back and get another sick piece done. read more

this shop is so cool and the vibe is tight. I love the location and the aesthetic. not a bad place to drop a dime and spend some time. unfortunately Craig is a jerk. I went in to get more work from him but he couldnt get his stupid I pad to work so I offered to leave a deposit and come back. I came back and he was pouting in his chair and yawned like 5,000 times and I was like bro are you good and he was like I have a baby they keep you up I'm like I know I've had three but I don't want your tired ass tattooing me and then he told me I was picky. he said he would hold my deposit in case I changed my mind and when after a couple weeks I asked for it back and he said no read more

My best friend and I were strolling around Old Town Temecula when we decided to get matching tattoos spontaneously! We stumbled upon this tattoo shop and we experienced the most amazing customer service!! All of the artists in the shop were so friendly and were able to accommodate us. I had my heart done by Carl, who was so nice and sooo funny. My best friend had hers done by Sean (I think that was his name). Both were great guys, Carl gave us a ton of stickers before we left. I'm definitely recommending them to our friends! If y'all see this, thank you for accommodating us right away and for the great service!! read more

My husband and I decided over dinner that we wanted to get tattooed. We went to Old Town Tattoo as walk ins and Carl was super welcoming. We wanted skulls on our fingers and he was totally down to design something perfect for the small real estate they had to work with. Carl tattooed my husband and he's beyond pleased with his tattoo. Sean did mine and I can't say enough how thorough and precise he was. I would definitely go back, they were awesome and the shop was clean and had a fantastic classic tattoo shop vibe with flash displayed all over. 10/10, highly recommend Old Town Tattoo. read more

On a Sunday Funday, my friend and I decided to just stop in and check out the place after seeing someone come put out a TATTOO sign on the corner by 1909 with a very cute dog. After much patience with my many requests, John finally came up with a drawing I approved of and I ended up loving his finished work. It was even better than I expected! I would totally recommend this place.... It's very clean, neat, friendly and reasonable! read more

My friend and i went to get a tattoo today so happy to get a matching best friend tattoo! While Shaun did my tattoo Carll did hers! Carl was supper rude from the start! He was so racist, were both Mexican , my friend knows mostly Spanish so i always translate for her. For some weird reason carl had a huge problem that she didn't speak English , he was saying that she should know English since we live in California and being the biggest jerk! This is the first time of my 25 years that i have felt racism against! Literally i couldn't stop crying because i couldn't believe how it's 2022 and people are so racist then he tried to say thats why he hates women and i told him to not make this a gender problem that he was racist to us since he heard us talking Spanish!I never like to be loud and rude to anyone but he said so many racist things that i could not control myself. Shaun understood and he was a sweetheart helping us out. Even as a tattoo artist he was unprofessional and got so mad when my friend was telling him he didnt like the position the template was on. He looked real high since the start and that shouldnt be an excuse to be rude asfk! read more

Love this place!!! We called Carl last minute seeing if he would tattoo 8 of us. We had called around to a few shops that came up in our search engine and were met with mediocre customer service. They were happy to welcome us in. We chose a simple design, not knowing the talent of a new artist for us all. (We are heavily tattooed). To our surprise, Carl made our design even better! He's very talented, welcoming and dedicated. He spent hours doing our tattoos back to back with only one break! Also, you can grab a table at public house or 1909 while you wait! We will be back! Thank you Carl!!! read more

THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!!! I purchased a gift certificate for my husband's anniversary present during COVID in an effort to support local businesses and paid cash. The employee (his name was Johnny based off the certificate) happily gave me the certificate and said I could send my husband back whenever was convenient to get a simple band tattooed on his ring finger. He gave NO other information and sent me on my way. When my husband went to redeem the gift certificate the gentlemen working, Carl (apparently the owner) said that the guy who made the gift certificate was fired and we had to contact him directly. He further educated me that it was my responsibility to have gotten his personal information as it was he that would need to do the tattoo. When I explained that I wasn't sure how I was to have known that since the man who so easily took my cash didn't offer that information, he continued to tell me that was my oversight not his and there was nothing he could do. In an effort to clarify, I asked again that what had happened was somehow my fault, the consumer. An employee collected cash, in exchange, gave me a gift certificate with the tattoo parlor's name on it, offered ZERO information on how gift certificates worked at that establishment, told me my husband could come back at any time and somehow it was my fault. I am shocked that this is how they do business. As a small business owner myself, I can assure you that I would NEVER treat a customer this way and would accept responsibility regardless if I agreed or not. Not only did he make no attempt to do right by the situation, but he was downright rude. The only positive to come out of this is that we were only robbed of $100 and not more. Lesson learned, work only directly with artists and never go to Old Town Tattoo. Hopefully, the owner will do a better job training his employees on what information to present to customers who are not aware of the process behind purchasing gift certificates and how the "tattoo world" works. read more
