OBX Affordable Automotive Repair was one of the top shops. I read the reviews and told my husband that we should drive over. I have to say that Jeff is an impressive mechanic! He got us in, replaced the alternator in about 2 hours! He's an honest, straightforward person. We genuinely appreciate him helping us out in this situation being so far away from home. Would definitely recommend! Thanks Jeff!

My mind was put to ease with the evaluation, which was greater than I expected -- truly surprised me with the thoroughness. They gave an honest appraisal of all the things my car needed, including a mindfulness towards the oil, and new front tires (which I clearly needed before running anything over), and assured me I was good for the return trip home without any immediate repairs or parts done in their shop. I followed through with their advice when I did get home, including getting new tires, and it truly made a difference in how the car was driving. Wish they were my home mechanic!!

Fantastic Service, Impeccable Experience!…read more I've taken my vehicles to many different mechanics on the Outer Banks throughout my life and none of them compare to the level of professionalism, experience, and customer service as Kitty Hawk Commercial Truck & Auto. I was able to communicate with the customer service rep over Facebook messenger and they answered all my questions promptly and satisfactory to my needs. I was able to get an appointment very soon within my availability. The first time I need them to do a full diagnostic of my vehicle. As well as fixing a few present issues. They provided me with a detailed description of everything I needed to get done and in order of priority. They provided cost for parts and labor. The customer service rep went over all of it with me, allowing me to gain trust in thier knowledge and experience. Because I was a happy customer the first time. I decided to come back. The second time I again spoke with the rep via Facebook messenger and they got me an appointment. I am unable to drop my car of during business hours which is OK because they have an overnight dropbox. The main technician there that day, Paul, was able to fit me in at the time I requested, fairly late in the day. When I arrived, he was very professional and courteous. He had one of the mechanics there immediately start work on my car. The mechanic was fairly young, but clearly took pride in his work. Although it was past the time he was supposed to be off, he took his time and made sure he did it right. He also checked the tire pressure, at my request. An oil change is not that big of a deal and it is not a glamorous set-up at their shop, but I had a very good experience with them, which is more important to me than anything. I recommend trying their services, if you need work done on your car.
