Several months ago, I had a vehicle with a tire that had a screw in it that needed to be patched. I took it to Setos and they informed me that the tire could not be patched. I bought two new tires and asked them to keep the 2 best remaining tires on the back and install the new tires on the front. What happened was they put two new tires on the front and installed the tire that could not be patched on the back along with another one of the original tires. They did not inform me they put the unrepairable tire back on. When I returned a couple of days later to inform them that they put the wrong tire back on, they did not admit anything, refused any responsibility and said the only option i had was to install yet another two new tires. No apologies nor did they claim any responsibility. The most unprofessional place I have ever been to. Incompetent service. read more

Unlawful Towing of Disabled Veteran's Vehicle My husband, a disabled veteran with ADA-compliant disabled tags, was legally parked in a clearly marked handicap space in the parking lot outside Bluewater Seafood Market. There were no signs stating the parking lot was for "customers only" or that towing would be enforced. Despite this, Seto Towing was called and towed his truck. Under federal ADA law, it is illegal to tow a properly parked vehicle with disabled plates or placards--and as a towing company, Seto should absolutely know that. We were forced to pay $275 to retrieve the vehicle and another $25 for transportation to their facility, totaling $300 for something that never should have happened. This was not only wrong--it was discriminatory. We have filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and are asking for full reimbursement. I urge others to be cautious--if Seto Towing is involved, even your rights as a disabled driver may not be protected. Attached are photos of the county laws. None of them were met. No 24x24 sign, no call to the police department, all tags were on vehicle properly marked. 10000% illegal! Tried to speak with the lady at the front desk about these laws for a refund and she refused to have an adult conversation. read more

Quick service! They answer their phone! That's a huge plus out here. We needed a quick tow to an automotive shop that kinda messed up our repair. Setos came through and towed our Jeep to the desired location. The driver even explained the situation to the mechanic. Highly recommend this towing service. Seto's saved the day! Got a nail in our tire late on a Friday afternoon, and we had to leave early in the morning. We called 3 places and no one was willing to help before closing. Called Seto's after seeing some great reviews. They said they could absolutely help us. 600 miles from home.... Battery light came on...hard to trust a shop when you're far from home. Especially in a touristy area. Posted something to Facebook and a few people suggested this shop... chanced it and stopped in. Place was packed with cars and people coming and going. Owner came over and spent 30 minutes looking it over... narrowed down the source to something I can take care of when I get home... He wouldn't charge me but I still tossed him a few $$ anyways... (saved me a few hundred dollars on an alternator which is what I thought it was)... 100% would recommend these guys. Family owned and super nice. Hopefully I never need them again but if I do, I'll be going to them.... read more

Fast honest repair. Just wish they weren't five hours away. ( We were on vacation when we had the opportunity to use their services)

My experience. I have 20 years of experience with Setos. The good thing is, they will come and pick your car up and tow it to their garage. They will not deliver it back. Ya have to come and get it. First car. 1999 Lexus RX 350 serviced in about 2006. Bad alternator. They replaced the alternator. 2 weeks later, it failed. Had to warranty the alternator. Then in about 2009, had a Lexus 1997 LS400 that lost the transmission. They found one, a used tranny, installed it and they failed to put the lower bellhousing cover plate back on, which exposed the flywheel. I just happened to see it a month later, I replaced it with an OEM Lexus part. Then a few months later, it was a water pump. Turned into a small coolant leak, with a temperature gauge that was broken and overheating engine. Fixed the small hose to the carb and temperature gauge. I think there was engine overheating damage. Then there was the 2006 Honda Civic. Needed the Idler Pully replaced on the serpentine belt. I read where it's a big problem because the main bolt locks into the block and breaks off when extracting. I didn't want that to happen with me working on it in my driveway. I supplied OEM parts, belts, etc. They do the job, was over $900 and 1 week later, 5 drives of 5 minutes, wife pulls car over because of crazy rattle noise. Setos tows it and then tells me it was because the "bolt" broke on the idler for "no reason" and had to extract it. I was pissed. They broke the bolt when they installed the idler and probably lock-tited what threads didn't break off and they had to Gaul to try and convince me that "3/8 inch bolts do that".... but they didn't have any broken bolts to show me.... I almost called the cops. I just walked away... $775 for that fix. That was about 5 years ago. Setos is now, my last option. read more

I was 270 miles from home and my Tesla had a flat tire. I called Tesla for roadside service for my flat tire but the closest Tesla service was 84 miles away. The Tesla advisor told me to find a local tire repair. I called Setos ( it was Sunday morning) . I explained my situation and they sent a repairman to my location. A half hour later the flat was fixed and I was a very satisfied customer. Everyone listened and a solution was found. The cost was about 25% of what Tesla quoted me. read more

I had some damage to one of my RV tires and could not find a place to fix it on short notice(about 24 hours). I called Setos and they said to come down and they'd figure it out.when I showed up they worked me In immediately and had a new tires installed in under an hour. The price was about what I expected. Setos was our heroes!! We were pulling our boat down to our new house in KDH and one of our wheels locked on our trailer and ended up flying off the trailer and our axel busted. Setos was recommended to me by another towing company I called who did not have a flatbed. I called and they were there within 30 minutes. The driver went to great lengths to get our boat up on the flatbed as to not damage it and did the same when we got our house to off load. The service was incredible and was such a relief from a highly stressful situation. They are now in my contact's and I will call no one else should I ever have towing needs again while in the OBX. read more

I would be careful using this garage. I had vehicle problems while on vacation in Outerbanks. These guys told me that a code had come up on diagnostics, that said I needed a transmission, about $4500.00, all in. He offered to take the vehicle off my hands so I could just worry about a rental car to get home and not worry about how I would get my car home. Well...long story short. I brought my car home, towed it by rental. Took it to Chrysler service, so they could pinpoint problems. Guess what....absolutely no transmission problems. We had left our EcoBoost button on (for highway) and had not turned it off in stop and go traffic. To think they wanted to take it off my hands. Seriously!!!! read more

A huge shout out to Setos towing! We broke down at 9:30 on a Friday night in the rain on the side of 158 and Setos saved the day. Their driver Haden was professional and extremely helpful. They were not overly expensive and arrived quickly despite the late hour and weather conditions. Another towing company we talked to literally wanted to charge us nine times what Setos did (clearly just trying to take advantage of our bad situation), so glad we kept calling and found Setos. We live 6 hrs away, are newlywed 21 year olds, and our tire blew up at 12am and our spare was flat. All we called for was air for our tire, he filled up the tire but the car wouldn't drive still. This is when the nicest thing to ever happen to us happened. The nice man towed our car with us to the hotel we were staying at 30 mins away from where we broke down. We didn't even ask him he just said "hop on in". He was literally our guardian angel and we would still be on the side of the road if it wasn't for him. All other towing companies around said they couldn't do it this late. PLEASE IF YOU NEED ANY TOWING OR TIRE SERVICE GO TO THIS COMPANY IT IS THE BEST IN OBX AND CURRITUCK. Setos towed my car on Saturday when it wouldn't start as we were going home from vacation. Although service center wasn't open on the weekend, they felt they could get it repaired on Mon. Avoiding a large mud section of the road forced us a little too far over to the right and into a ditch. Car was pretty deep on the right side in mud and not coming out without a tow. Geico dispatched Seto's to the scene and I met the driver, Jeffrey Sanderlin on site. He had a great plan to get the car out. He was methodical and patient and arrived rather quickly considering it was close to midnight. My family came to Outer Banks for a weekend trip. My car tire needed a tire repair before heading back home. Upon looking on Yelp for a tire repair shop, I noticed that Setos is open 24/7. WRONG!! False advertisement. I drove the the location to find it closed. I called the number listed, a guy answered, said they are closed, and he hung up before I may asked if there are any other locations. If this is how the company treats out of towners...I'm afraid how they treat locals. read more

I had a blow-out on my way down to Corolla from Northern VA. AAA was amazing and got me back on the road, but it was the donut. The driver encouraged me to try Treadmasters (a little south of Norfolk), but I wanted to find a place closer to where I would be staying. I found a Treadmaster in Kitty Hawk / Nags Head, but like many of the reviews written, they were not customer-centric. Regardless, got an appointment set up for the next day (after wrangling to all get out). Since I was only staying 2 1/2 days, I 'bribed' one of the college kids to take the car down and have the tire put on so I could enjoy a little bit of the beach. When she got there, they disavowed any knowledge of the appointment and told her that she had 25 cars ahead of her. She also had the same reaction I did -- rude and a bit obnoxious. They referred her to "Setos" and she drove the short distance. Sadly, they didn't have the tire but ordered it. She said they were fantastic. I showed up the next day just as the tire truck was pulling in. Within 15 minutes they had my car on a jack and were balancing the tire. Within 30 minutes, I was on my way. I can say that while I was there, everyone was warm, friendly and responsive. Don't let the looks of a used car dealership intimidate you and ignore the 2 broken trash trucks (as of this writing). They were amazing, and I would go straight there again if I have any issues in the area. read more

Had a flat on Hatteras Island and State Farm sent a tow from Setos. It was a Sunday so I knew the tire wouldn't be replaced until Monday at the earliest. My car was ready Tuesday and since they close at 5, I was able to pay over the phone and pick up later that evening. Highly recommend! read more

Had a leak in tire. Other places were too busy to help. Seto's was also very busy but had someone help me immediately. They Found the tiniest of punctures and were able to find the embedded mail. Called about a slow leak on a tire they told me to come in and they would fit me in. The only problem is the lot was jammed. Went in and a young lady told me to pull up to the bay. Two very friendly gents came out and pulled the wheel and in 10 minutes I was on my way. Great service but they could use a bigger lot. Be careful when you pull in and try to find a place to park. One of the worst things you can see while on vacation is the "check engine" light, less than 48 hours before the long drive home. Not only did Setos agree to take a look at our minivan, Brian squeezed our car in between what looked like a very busy schedule, spent time diagnosing and explaining what was going on, what to do now, and what could wait, and got me back on the road without any additional, unneeded repairs. Our Jeep Wrangler broke down while on vacation and we needed it towed back home - just over 100 miles. Our Roadside Assistance quoted an outrageous amount of which we would have had to pay a large portion. We called SETOs and not only was their price much less, they arrived on time the morning we checked out of our rental and took care of getting the Jeep back home - it was in our driveway when we got there later that day. The lady at the front desk had the worst attitude Ive ever experienced at an automotive repair shop. My car battery died while on vacation and I was leaving driving 300+ miles to my next destination. Worried about having more car problems we wanted to double check there were no other possible issues. The lady at the front desk was sure to give us her unneeded rude attitude with her unhelpful answer considering she's not a mechanic. When I left to start my trip my car died on me again. So we obviously had a reason to be asking if there were any other troubles with my car. The mechanic clearly didn't know what was wrong and they got upset when I asked to take my car somewhere else. Probably fine to use for simple repairs however I'd avoid completely if you don't want to flip your lid at the front desk. read more
