Had a flat, not repairable. Went to Coastal Fast Lube to buy 2 new Michelin tires to replace a pair since current directional tires had 30K. Requested to install 2 new tires on front and rotate the best 2 of the 3 remaining directional tires to rear. Well, most worn tire ended up on rear, and both directional tires were installed BACKWARDS. When I went to rotate the rears to the proper rotation, the lugs were on so tight that I had to stand on the spanner wrench to loosen. There's no way my wife would've been able to change a tire on her own and no reason to jackhammer on lugs this tight. Can't recommend for these reasons. read more

Last year I went to get two rear tires put on and my truck inspected at coastal tune and lube. The price went from $25 a wheel to 50 a wheel on the left rear they broke one of the studs grinded it down flat and didn't tell me about it later when had to have the tire patch for nail I found out the stud was missing never was told about it. Now we come to this year I noticed that the rear right side was acting funny it tore up the brake pad and the caliper, when I took the wheel off it was missing two lug nuts side by side that coastal had left off and I think the vibration caused the caliper and the tire to wear out. So because of this I had to put $450 to replace my rear calipers and my brakes and my rotors only a year later after they did this great service work. Never again coastal tune and lube. Got an oil change. Been going there religiously for many many years. Went lately for oil change. Came home. Oil low light came on. Checked oil..not one drop on stick. Called. Very apologetic. Towed vehicle to place. Of course they denied it was their fault. Claimed I had a leaking part. (Shaking my head, must have been an awfully large leak because where did a fresh 5 quarts of synthetic oil go?) Silly me. Oh, btw..my car was perfectly fine before going there that morning. Not one drop of oil on driveway where vehicles is parked everyday. Cannot fix had to take somewhere else. Ok. Then charged me over $100 for the tow. Pissed. I take my car to next mechanic. He says he cannot find a leak and it must be internal which he doesn't work on..ok. I then take it, (mind you it's holding the oil that we put in this whole time a week later) to my buddies shop. He put it on the lift. Inspected the whole underneath. He inspected what Coastal had said was leaking. NOPE, NO LEAKING. NO VISIBLE OIL!!! I am so pissed. Car runs fine. Funny thing is this is the third car this week that I have run into that says Coastal told them the same thing..down to the same part that was leaking.. that's just crazy. What are the f'n odds??? I'm going to play the Lotto this week!! I was told by my other mechanic that this has been a reoccurring problem lately for them and he's had many clients with no oil leaving that place. One engine blew up coming across the bridge leaving there with no oil. I loved that place but after the bs run around and the lies and the not taking responsibility has left a sour taste in my mouth. Not telling you not to go there but I would definitely check your oil after being serviced. The conclusion from 3 different local mechanics that have had to deal with many of their f ups lately..they're rolling them in and out too fast. just a tip for the future, it would be helpful if you serviced vehicles in the order that they arrived and not just by who you see in the waiting room. I dropped off my car for an oil change right as they opened at 8, was quoted a 2 hour wait, and ended up sitting at the coffee shop next door until 1:30pm. almost SIX hours later, they apologized for the wait and were flustered saying that they didn't realize I'd been waiting next door the whole time. (even though I called to check the progress several times) I understand it was a busier day for them than usual, but 6 hours for an oil change when there were maybe 8 cars ahead of me is ridiculous. read more

Out of town and flat tire is never a good combination. They took us right in despite being just before they closed. First tried to figure out the cheapest/easiest fix for us and when nothing could be done ( downside of run flat tires) they quickly pivoted to finding and obtaining us a new set of run flats in a timely manner. My old van broke down while passing through on a Sunday night. I had to get a hotel and take the van somewhere first thing the next morning. I was on a tight schedule because I work remote and couldn't miss work. I stood outside of A1 Auto Repair across the street waiting for them to open up at 8, but no one had showed up. So I noticed Coastal Fast Lube across the high way. I made the trek to run across the street and the manager said they could get me in to replace my serpentine belt. I was grumpy from all the stress and she put up with me which I appreciate! I started to walk back to the hotel and made it about a mile down the road when a mechanic John called me and said he'd already finished it. Super fast service and very capable people. This is by far the most friendly, efficient and fast service center I have ever visited! As soon as I pull in the lot, a technician greets me from behind the garage door and walks me to the lobby while asking what I would like done. I left with an oil change, some amazing pink wiper blades (installed free) and a huge smile. I had a FANTASTIC experience here today. This was my first time and I'm really happy. My 2006 Honda Accord needed some brake work done and they gave me a fair estimate and told me that I only needed rear pads and rotors and the front brakes were totally fine. I really appreciate a fair and honest service shop that does great work at a reasonable price. I plan to return in the fall for an oil change. I visited this business while on a cross country road trip and sought an oil change. During the intake, I specified the exact oil type that my engine needs, but the mechanics put in a different type of oil without asking me or checking the oil cap. The owner or manage came to let me know this and said they were choosing oil based off some system that tells them what type of oil my make/model needs. I informed her that my car doesn't have the original engine, so they finally checked the oil cap and confirmed that they added the wrong oil type, then proceeded to drain the new oil to replace it with the correct oil that I requested and that the engine calls for. It was a busy Friday so the wait was nearly 2 hours. After arriving back to my home state, I found fresh oil stains on my garage floor and my normal mechanic informed me that the drain plug was not tightened up during the oil change, so my oil was nearly empty when it shouldn't have been, which could've killed my engine if I hadn't made it home when I did. People were friendly at Coastal but the service was poor. read more

I've never seen such a hard working team of mechanics. We went there based on a recommendation from our host and are so thankful for the suggestion. We arrived around 1 pm with the car rattling and shaking progressively worse. They were beyond packed and said to expect to be a few hours which to me was a blessing because they could have turned me away. Jesus our mechanic called us a couple of hours later with a diagnosis of a broken wheel bearing and additional related issues. Despite approaching closing time he took his time explaining what is needed and the cost breakdown. My wife and I were hoping to get the car the next day at best and were attempting to rework the plans so the kids could still enjoy the trip when our phone rang again and Jesus said to pick the car up. We were so excited! We were also told that we will need to make additional repairs with Kia and the team was kind enough to speak over the phone to our Kia service center at home. The team even offered to look our car over before making the trip back home (i.e the issue Kia needs to fix) no charge and as a priority so no wait! We are visiting the beach for a week, and our car started to leak oil as we were driving to the beach. This was the closest fast lube, so we went there. It was an hour and a half wait (the next place I called couldn't get us in til the next morning). We walked to the beach while we waited. They called us back and said they couldn't find a leak anywhere, but we were low on oil so they filled it up and also topped off our power steering fluid that was low. They didn't charge us a dime. I'm so grateful for an honest mechanic who took care of us quickly and got us on our way. Will definitely return if we ever break down again on vacation! Very disappointed. I have been taking my car(s) to this business for years. This is the first visit since the pandemic started and first time for this vehicle. First the good points. Very quick service. They didn't have the right oil for my vehicle, so they sent someone out to get it. However, NONE of the mechanics, nor the person whom I think was the service manager, were wearing masks. I understand the mechanics are not always talking with the public,(although one told me about the oil), but the service manager was talking with every customer, including me, no mask. The woman who works behind the desk had a mask, but I saw her take it on and off as she went inside the garage, the parking lot, and office, sometimes wearing it with customers, sometimes not. Have never been so disappointed in an oil change and getting new tires. They drained my transmission fluid and didn't replace it. They put my 2 new tires on the back instead of the front. Failed to put spare back in trunk. The new tires they did put on had bad air valves. Then they put the wrong mileage down. Off by 40,000 miles. Never again. This took 3 days to remedy. read more
