Wow! I was refused service at this location because I questioned their policy on giving a brake quote over the phone a couple of weeks ago. Subsequently, I scheduled an oil change at the same location and when I got there they refused to do the oil change since the receptionist remembered I previously stated I didn't like their policy on not giving a quote over the phone. The receptionist took the comment personally and refused to honor the oil change appointment. I asked to see her manager and she went into the back but came out and stated that he was too busy to meet with me. Are these people trying to run the business into the ground?? MY WHEEL ALMOST FELL OFF! They took advantage of us and called us liars! I would never go back. When we were in Outer Banks on vacation, my car started making a weird noise. We took it to Meineke in Kill Devil Hills to get it looked at before we drove it 8 hours home with our kids and they told us it needed rear brakes and that was causing the noise. They said everything else was fine. They changed the rear brakes and when my husband requested to see the brakes they took off to confirm they needed to be replaced, they flat out REFUSED to show him the brakes. We took the car back to the rental house and it was still making the same noise. We checked the wheels when we got there and one of the wheels WAS NOT TIGHTENED! Like at all! I freely turned all of the lugs with my bare hands! It was crazy! My husband called the store and the manager flat out called him a liar. The manager says that the car did need brakes, that my husband never asked to see the brakes, that the wheel wasn't left loose, and that the noise problem was resolved. What?!?! Don't gaslight me, ***hole. I almost drove my kids 8 hours home in a car with a wheel that was about to fall off! When we got the car home, we found out it had a bad wheel bearing in the front and THAT resolved the noise. places for quotes on a full set of tires. I got a price in the morning from Meineke. I had called back later in the afternoon and received a lower price saving almost $300. I agreed to the better offer and made the appointment for the next day. I got there on time and had to wait almost an hour before my car was worked on. When the car was finally done, the final price went up dramatically. When questioned, the cashier went back to the higher quote that was not agreed to and was extremely rude about it. I felt attacked and she even tried to get into the car while I was taking care of the bill. It was a bait and switch like I have never seen. I will NOT give Meineke my business again! read more

This was the worst experience ever purchasing tires. I was quoted $560 + tax for a set of tires. After being quoted, they said they only had one tire and would need a $250 deposit to order the tires. Understandable so we payed the deposit and scheduled the appointment for the next day. Called to confirm they had the tires and went for our appointment. We waited an hour and a half past our appointment time before they got started on the work. Disappointing but still understandable and then when they finally finished, they told us the total was over $860 so had to pay over another $600 on top of the $250 deposit. When I addressed the discrepancy the girl at the front desk was very rude and then ran out to our car yanking on the driver door handle very hard which was locked. I asked her why she was trying to get into our car and she wouldnt answer. The manner in which she and a couple other employees treated us even after paying the inflated rate was despicable! Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere or if you have no other choice, get a written estimate before makung a deposit. These people are crooks and lack any professionalism. read more

I had a flat tire while on vacation at the OBX. I told them to patch it if that would work, otherwise to put a new tire on the rim (they confirmed they had a tire in stock to fit). The next day (August 7, 2020) they called to let me know if was patched. Great. I picked it up and they assured me it was a good patch. Well, the next morning the tire had gone flat again. I didn't have time to get it fixed again so I had to drive home with the spare (luckily, a full-size tire). I called to let them know what had happened and asked for a refund, but was told there is "nothing they can do." Well, they could give me a refund. I came to this location for a oil change , I called in the day before and scheduled an appointment for 2pm as I was on the way to my "scheduled" appt I called to make sure everything was still set in place. Complaint #3 ! Hours after my appointment I just so happen to look at receipt & it states I have a leak.. I don't know how minor or major this leak is because 1 I wasn't aware of it, 2 not one "professional" service member figured it would be important to verbally inform me I have an oil leak, when I initially came in for an oil change?? While on vacation in the Outer Banks, we got a flat tire. I took the car there at 8:00 am. I was told by the young lady that I would need to leave the car and they may get to it by the afternoon. She said they were short handed. The problem is that our hotel is almost 7 miles away and we were leaving the next day. I would like to know if the tire is not repairable, so that I could make other arrangements. It doesn't take that long to patch a tire and anywhere that I have ever had to have this service provided would put bigger jobs on hold for a moment to do this. I guess my complaint is that they don't have more knowledgeable people working that may understand the problem. read more

I have been taking my cars here for 6+ years and today was the last time I go back. The local dealership has been sold to new owners 2 or 3 times in the last 6+ years and the latest owner just has a lower standard they are following now. I go there at least 2 times a year with each car and today was the first time I was presented with an air filter to look at to decide if I needed a new one. To reduce emissions they recirculate exhaust back into the intake so you would expect some dark oily spots on an air filter, but it does not mean it must be changed. I told the guy it only has 18,000 miles on it, so put it back and don't replace it. "But, it's black in spots" he said. That might work for my wife, but not me! Then he comes out and says he will fail my car, with 18,000 miles because the wiper blade has a tear. I just cleaned them 1 month ago to improve the wiping action and it did and there was no tear at the very end on the passenger side then. I told him I bought a new set of wipers but since it did not need them I have them at home to install when they need to be. For all I know he tore it, but it was not torn two days ago in the rain. Absolutely clueless- had a grind coming from what I suspected was my alternator- (Which was a part that had been replaced before) Had them check it out they could not figure it out. Thought it might be a valve (seriously) but also suggested that we might replace the tensioner and idler pulley- 360 plus but not sure on their part. Turns out that it was the alternator bearings as I suspected. (You could even feel it on the top of the alternator) Wound up being out 60 for a diagnostic where they could not diagnose anything. I was told my catalytic converter needed to be replaced. It would cost at a minimum of $750.00 for them to do that. I was also told if I did not get this fixed or get rid of my car, it will explode on the road while I am driving. I asked the man many times if that could really happen and made sure I heard and understood him correctly. He replied yes each time. I then took my car to five other mechanics to scan for this problem and got estimates from each one. I had my car ready for sale. I was told by each and every one of them the same thing. I do not need this part. However, if I did it would cost a maximum of $400 labor included. And if I did have this faulty part it will not under any circumstances cause my vehicle to explode. I approached the man who gave me all this misinformation and asked him about it. He began to yell and curse at me about it. I asked him if he can see how someone might see that as threatening their life. He began to tell me how "f****** dramatic" I was being. Telling me to" knock that s*** off". I asked him if he was even a mechanic and he replied no but I know how to work on cars. I brought my jeep in for brake work and an inspection last month. I picked it up a week later. The brakes worked and it passed inspection. Yesterday, I brought it to the Jeep dealership to diagnose a vibration. They wouldn't even drive it because they said it was unsafe as a result of the brake work done by Meineke. Meineke used compression fittings. These fittings are not only unsafe, but, illegal. Meineke then passed the vehicle for inspection. I called 3 separate mechanics and they all said the same thing, "Unsafe, Shoddy, Illegal." DO NOT LET THEM PUT COMPRESSION FITTINGS IN YOUR BRAKE LINES! THEY WILL NOT HOLD! read more

Each time, after arriving for my appointment I was informed equipment was down so they could not perform the service. Even though they knew of the appointments and had my contact information there was no reaching out to let me know to not come in. When I arrived the truck wasn't ready and it took over an hour for them to finish. I had been asked to pay the day before and assumed that meant the work was completed.
