I met Tim, the Manager and learned he had come from extensive service years with Tire Choice at another location in N.C. and hired Jessee, as well as he was also bringing experienced service technicians to this location who he had worked with before. Subsequently, I returned to see if they could insert new rubber blades in my Honda OEM wipers and Tim quickly handled that for me, while I waited. All my friends are stunned that I found someone to do that as it is very difficult, however saves a great deal of money. The new team here is very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly.

I was able to get an appointment very soon within my availability. The first time I need them to do a full diagnostic of my vehicle. As well as fixing a few present issues. They provided me with a detailed description of everything I needed to get done and in order of priority. They provided cost for parts and labor. The customer service rep went over all of it with me, allowing me to gain trust in thier knowledge and experience. Because I was a happy customer the first time. I decided to come back. The second time I again spoke with the rep via Facebook messenger and they got me an appointment. I am unable to drop my car of during business hours which is OK because they have an overnight dropbox. Normally with car inspections, I have to drop my car off at an auto-body shop and pick it up the next day due to the "first come, first serve" policy but I didn't have that option so I booked an appointment with 17th Street Automotive for the same day. As soon as I walked into the office, I was happily greeted by Kristen and another worker. They both were extremely pleasant and personable. I was quoted a service time of about an hour and a half and was offered beverages while I wait, which was a very nice gesture. My state inspection was completed after an hour and a half, just as they quoted me. Kristen was very informative with the things they found during the inspection and with how amazing their customer service was, I would definitely return to get my car serviced with them. I was given a free car freshener once the service was complete and told them I would tell everyone I knew about the exceptional experience I had with their business. If you are looking for same-day inspections or in need of any car services, I highly recommend checking out 17th Street Automotive.

Completely unacceptable, frustrating experience…read more I paid $1,338 for front brakes and calipers, and within six months I was still having braking issues. When I returned, they replaced only one front rotor under warranty. After a third visit for the same braking noise/vibration, I was told the problem was my rear brakes, even though those had been replaced only three months earlier at another shop. I then went to three independent shops, and all confirmed the real issue was a warped front rotor (the one not replaced the second time I brought it in). This should've been fixed the second or third time I brought it in. Instead they shifted blame to another shop, in which their work was confirmed to be fine. And for the price I paid, I shouldn't have had to bring it in multiple times for the same issue. Still after three visits and over $1,300 spent, my issue was still not properly fixed. The only good thing about this experience was that it was under warranty, and another shop was able to fix my brakes properly. I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before trusting this shop, and if possible save your time and go elsewhere.

My mind was put to ease with the evaluation, which was greater than I expected -- truly surprised me with the thoroughness. They gave an honest appraisal of all the things my car needed, including a mindfulness towards the oil, and new front tires (which I clearly needed before running anything over), and assured me I was good for the return trip home without any immediate repairs or parts done in their shop. I followed through with their advice when I did get home, including getting new tires, and it truly made a difference in how the car was driving. Wish they were my home mechanic!!

He asked me if I called other shops (I should've hung up on him). What kind of a shop doesn't do ball joints??? He finally agreed to take a look at the car. He made a big fuss that he would have to replace the lower control arms to replace the ball joints. WRONG! The ball joints are separate from the lower control arms on that specific Toyota. What an amateur!! It took him 2 days to change 2 ball joints & 1 tie rod. Then, I had to get an alignment somewhere else. A week later, I heard a noise coming from the front driver's side wheel. I took it back to the place who did the alignment & they showed me that the wheel bearing was damaged. Since JT & his crew had to take off the wheel & steering knuckle, I had no doubt that he destroyed the wheel bearing. It doesn't stop there - he didn't even secure 1 of the ball joints to the control arm. I would NEVER EVER go back & deal with this idiot JT. He gave me a sob story that he downsized after COVID & only does small jobs. Meanwhile, his sign says "We Do It All". Because of him, I fix my car myself.

I appreciate Sonny's "say it like it is" straight-forward attitude. He's old school and does things the way they should be done. The place is clean and the waiting area is comfortable with complimentary coffee to enjoy while you wait. When I was there they even had complimentary Krispy Kreme donuts available to enjoy.
