Fantastic cuisine! My husband had a half dozen raw oysters and the Irish breakfast. I had the French onion soup and the Irish dressed crab with a salad. Now I know the crab is what I call deviled crab, but not baked! Served chilled. It and my soup and my salad were all so fantastic, I was very happy. He liked everything on the Irish breakfast and there was A LOT! Service was on the spot. Always finish a visit home with a trip here as its the best restaurant in Dalkey at the moment. Been here a lot and never had a bad meal, such friendly staff and a decent menu. Usually opt for the surf and turf and the squid which is a winnig combination, had the crab an avocado mousse tonight which was also delish. The buzzy atmosphere in here with friendly staff and consistent food for me makes it a go to. Welll worth a visit. read more

Really enjoyable meal here, wandered in just before 7pm on a Friday and yes, place was already quite busy and on finding we didn't have a reservation we got the awkward, mmmmm, aaaaahhhhh let me see... Anyway they finally seated us (moved us again) and finally we could start enjoying ourselves! Food on all counts was delicious, I treated myself to fillet steak with scallops and red wine jus... What can I say! Delicious... Waitress teased us into opting for a dessert also, that didn't fail either it was fab! Staff are friendly and attentive, dropped the 1 star just n how we were initially greeted and reseating that we had to do but otherwise an enjoyable meal, great atmosphere and a great to have this place so close to my doorstep read more

Enjoyable, casual atmosphere and very reasonably priced. I came here with a big enough group for dinner on a Sunday evening and the place had a great buzz about it. The waiters; nondescript, but the bartender was very jovial. I had the confit of duck with puy lentils, apple and fricassee. It was very pleasant, but being the Irish girl that I am, I craved potatoes/chips, or any form of real carbs the whole way through. Luckily the person sitting next to me had some (she had the steak which was so delicious. The pepper sauce was the nicest I've had). I had an apple crumble for dessert which was average and a craft beer which was very overpriced. Overall, it's not going to blow your mind, but thankfully, it won't blow your wallet either. In short: Good food, good service, good value :) Visited DeVille's today for the first time, we were warmly welcomed and quickly seated. As we arrives at 3pm the place was in that lull between lunch and dinner which suited us fine as we just wanted to relax, have a chat and something to eat without the hustle and bustle of a busy environment. Neither of us were overall hungry so we skipped starters, I opted for the Club Sandwich (chicken, cheddar cheese, streaky bacon, lettuce & tomato) while my friend went with the Open Crab & Prawn Sandwich (on homemade soda bread with mixed leaves), we both had chips as a side (chunky and skinny respectively). My Club Sandwich could probably have fed a family of 5 in a Syrian refugee camp for a week, 7 hours after eating the Club Sandwich, and as I writing this review, I still feel full and have no desire to eat anything anytime soon! The Club Sandwich was an excellent blend, the bacon was crisp and contrasted well with the cheese, the chicken was plentiful while the tomato & lettuce balanced the overall taste and consistency. Truth be told the Club Sandwich was so filling I struggled to finish it and could only eat one or two of the chunky chips. My friend had the same experience, her Open Crab & Prawn Sandwich was excellent and very filling. While I'm not a fan of seafood I did sample the crab meat and prawns and I must admit that it was quite tasty. To sum up: The service was welcoming, friendly, helpful and accommodating. The food we tried was excellent, well priced (ie: mid range) and very filling. Overall the bill came to €35 (€25 for food & €10 for drinks) which was value for money. Based on this one visit I would recommend DeVille's, I would like to visit again, maybe for dinner, and try some of their other dishes. While DeVille's ticked all the boxes and I don't have a bad word to say about the place or staff I'm giving a rating of 4 stars as I'm reserving 5 stars for the truly excellent. read more

Excellent restaurant in every respect. Great vibe. Always packed. Sitting at the bar watching the bar man do his thing worth the price of admission, not to mention his creations. We went her for Brunch the other day. It is a new restaurant to Dalkey the interior is a little dark for my taste but most of the tables are in cubicles which makes it much easier for chatting as it cuts down on the background noise. Good menu with a decent choice of food. I ordered the breakfast and it was very good at €10. Staff were great and most helpful I asked for marmalade which I dont think they had but marmalade arrived for me, allowing time to shops and back? Come hungry. This is one of our two favorite spots in Dalkey. The food is exceptionally good and everyone I take here loves the Steak. I highly recommend the French Onion Soup and I get the Salmon often and it is very good. The owner and staff are great...Service is top and you feel so very welcome the minute you walk in. Had the pleasure of enjoying a quiet Sunday lunch at DeVille's. The setting and décor is beautiful, and upon arrival we were immediately seated. Service was excellent and despite being slightly busy, I never felt like we were waiting. Food was served at a perfect pace and again I never felt like we were waiting. The dishes themselves were absolutely delicious - I had a Winter's Salad with Goats Cheese and Beetroot to start, followed by a Gruyere and Bacon Burger with Frites, all completed by a Warm Chocolate Brownie. As I said, all absolutely delicious. The meal was extremely well priced and I would not hesitate to go back or to recommend DeVille's to anyone. read more

Two dinners here in three days, and both times I had the salmon which I love - fresh and perfectly cooked. Started with the pear and blue cheese salad - so tasty and different than I've had anywhere else. For desert was the apple crisp and vanilla ice cream - loved it. It's always a positive sign when you see several restaurants with less than 5 tables occupied, and then one place that is completely full. That's DeVille's. It's always packed, and for good reason. The food is done very well and the service is friendly and attentive. It is a step below fine dining in terms of price, but certainly upscale in terms of quality and atmosphere. If you walk in without a reservation, they may ask you to give the table back in a relatively short amount of time, but that's because so many people call DeVille's their regular and go once a week. read more

DeVilles moved into what used to be a household name of an Italian restaurant in Dalkey and had a challenge in order to win over a new customer base, over the past few years they have always delivered s friendly service and good food. They cook steak French style, med rare really is medium rare, so be warned if you're used to asking for rare to get medium rare. Wines are well priced. Stopped in for Brunch our first full day in Ireland. Walked through Dalkey and seemed like a good place to stop in. The Sole was delicious, enjoyed an Elderflower cocktail, I hope to get the recipe because I want that back home. My lady had eggs Benedict and a mimosa, she loved both. I had been meaning to try this spot for ages! And this was definitely a case of delayed gratification! We were lucky enough to get the nice table at the front window, whichever seat you were at had a good view which I liked! The room itself was dimly lit and buzzing with people! The food was excellent I went for the fillet beef which was cooked to perfection! and the pauvre sauce !!! so delicious! The beef came with a choice of side (loved the choice! usually it's just chips) I went for the chopped salad - which was actually chopped - no embarrassing leaves sticking out of mouth :) !! The only thing stopping me from giving the 5 stars is the crème brulee dessert with shortbread! My boyfriend quite accurately described it as vanilla scrambled eggs with sugar on top served with doughy shortbread! After having way to much to drink with AJ at Finnegans down the street, he brought us to this place so we could get something to eat...at almost 10 pm. We were warmly greeted and then were graced with some absolutely wonderful food! I had the filet with green beans and broccoli...the meat was so tender I didn't want it to end. Amateur hour! When we booked our table we were told that it was urgently needed by 8 o'clock, no problem as we had plans later that evening. On a cold winter night we were sat at a table close to the main entrance, the outer door was constantly open which created a constant draft we brought this to the attention of the staff and a token gesture to fix (more show than anything) the spring on the door was half heartedly attempted. Main course average at best with the same sauce accompanying two different dishes surely a sin. We ordered our dessert and the waitress again reminded us that they needed the table back for 8. The dessert arrived accompanied with an indistinguishable dairy based stodge. When we were settling the Bill the waitress asked us if we wanted to leave a tip I honestly thought I was on a hidden camera show. Talk about being mugged twice. Its back to our usual haunts around Dalkey and Dun laoghaire safe in the knowledge that we will receive decent and courteous service which of course always results in a decent tip. A late review, but never forgotten. I came into Deville's on a rainy night in July while on vacation. Everything about the restaurant was superb. The ambiance and decor were amazing and beautiful, the food was delectable. (Get the pork belly and a twice baked potato. I still think about it all!)
