Great spot if you're looking for a solid and tasty Chicago Style Hotdog and Fresh Cut French Fries. You just can't go wrong here. The line can get extra long with a crazy wait time if you come here on the weekend and after hours from what I heard. I came around 3:30pm on a Wed and the line wasn't bad but all the seats were taken because you have Jones High school right across the street so after school this place becomes a popular teenage hangout spot. Back to the food, it was really good and the portions are large especially on the bag of French fries for $2.25. I swear two people can eat off the bag and get full easy. The bucket, which is like $3.25 can feed a squad. My hot dog was $3.25, so for location the price wasn't that bad at all. $6.00 for a lot of food. I saw everyone ordering a shake and from the looks of them they looked good. I'm gonna have to try that next. Overall great experience with some good food. read more

While waiting for Lou Malnati's, we decided to snack on a Chicago hot dog for the first time in our lives. We give it two thumbs up! Loved the combination of all of the fixings with the beef dog. Good job Chicago! read more

Ordered on grubhub which quoted 35 to 45 mins. The ordered showed up 1hr 15 mins later. Restaurant said order was on the way without confirming which order and immediately hung up on us. Food was left with the front desk no call or notification. Our milkshake was cracked and leaking. No napkins included The food was mediocre. There was nothing special about the dogs. The milkshake was melted. The can coke was probably the only good thing that was delivered. read more

Great Chicago dog and the shake (strawberry) certainly was a great surprise. Didn't try the fries but they looked & smelled like heaven. read more

Got a bacon cheddar dog and a sig ep dog and fries. Great place that was quick. Good was pretty good and reasonably priced. Devil sauce has a kick! But not too much. Would try again. read more

I've been here before for their stellar milkshakes, but I actually came here tonight as a last resort (because most places are closed after 11:00). Shame on me for doubting Devil Dawgs. First off, the staff is super nice. The gentleman working the cash register was so kind, that I felt the need to add to their tip jar. He then thanked me for doing so. A veggie burger at a hotdog joint? Sounds shady, but this one here was one of the better fast food veggie burgers I've ever had. Delish. Oh, and you can't forget the cheese fries. Those are always a necessity. Pretty pleased, and I'll never be disappointed by going here for a late-night dinner ever again. read more

Small tiny burgers! They should call them sliders instead of burgers. They are size of my 3 yr old's hand. Paid 5 bucks for a tiny burger, hots dogs are just regular... nothing special. Over priced and overly high rated reviews. Taste is just ok. Not recommended! read more

OOOOOOKAY folks gather 'round. This is a flippin' amazing hot dog place, and not only do they have hot dogs, they sell onion rings BY THE BUCKET! Not your style? Get a little smaller, by the BAG! My point is, they have lots of onion rings and fries to go along with whatever insane, delicious, perfect hot dog concoction you order. I was drunk when I went there so I just ordered a regular hot dog with some basic toppings, but my friend ordered one with bacon on it and when I tasted it I almost screamed -- in a good way. I'm still thinking about it days later and my mouth is watering. This place is also super bright and colorful inside, even when you're there at 1 AM! Seriously. Go. Here. read more

This was exactly what I wanted. I am a in town on business and leaving today. Just wanted a Chicago Dog. I ordered my dog and a Chicago Polish (sausage). Both were great. The buns were fresh and they dressed the dog and sausage perfectly. The place is small, busy and very good. read more

The most amazing grub food I've ever had. I came on a mission to get the Chicago Dog. It was great. Got a strawberry milkshake it was so good! I wanted to come back and ravage some more of the Menu but I was not in town for very long. I've already recommended it to 3 ppl though. Service was super friendly and fast too. read more

It has been so long since I had a Chicago style hotdog. Man, thank you Devil Dogs for putting me back in the game! These veggie Chicago dogs are so look good! I had mines with grilled onions so I can feel like I was back at Maxwell's! So good, So good, so good! That hit the spot! The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is because I'm saving that fifth star for there Maxwell st. Vegie Polish when it comes out, if it comes out! read more

Good burgers. Hand patted. 1/3 lb for $3.00!! Nothing on the menu over $8. Appetizer portions are huge. We had poppers, mushrooms and broccoli cheese bites. Full sizes of all 3 for $8. The broccoli cheese bites are awesome. I also had the beef bow tie soup and I'd give it a 4 out of 5 as well. Live music on a Sunday afternoon. Will be back for sure. read more

It takes a lot of effort to mess up a hamburger and cheese fries. It also takes equally, or more effort to take time to write a review about it so hopefully that's indicative of my frustration. Only Ordered an Elvis burger and cheese fries. Every number up to 97 was called before me (85) and then I got my order. Fries were undercooked, almost raw. Had to toss out .. burger was so crispy almost the same. This was after waiting about 25 minutes. The guy serving it even laughed when I asked what's happening with all the numbers aftwr me because he knew it was messed up. Writing a review may not solve my problem tonight but.. well I don't have a but, this just sucked. read more

I get the hype for it. If they sold larger burgers I feel the price would be justified. Fries were too salty. It's a good tourist attraction. Also, the variety is pretty sweet. read more

We were excited to try some local food and this was amazing. My kids each had a chedder cheese dog and my husband and I split a Chicago dog and a tri bbq cheese burger slider. We had a mix up with what side we ordered. The team working made it right. Really good food, only complaint our hot dog temperature was warm to cold. read more

Great little burger/hot dog joint. They have so many different varieties of dogs and burgers, it's insane. Place is a little small on the inside but they do a good job of utilizing the space they have. Milkshakes are ok, could be better, they have a lot of varieties of milkshakes as well but really all of them are just vanilla milkshakes with some sauce poured in. Was a little disappointed in that. Also the milkshakes are way too thick. It's like your trying to eat a concrete/blizzard through a straw. Still great burgers and dogs though!! read more

The Clucker is AMAZING!!!!! (Seriously the BEST fried chicken in Chicago!!!) accompanied by the cheese fries and a shake (tons of flavored to choose from) is a great treat!!!! Is clean and a great eclectic crowd. Must try.... read more

This place is pretty good, but extremely heavy. If you're trying to eat healthy just stay away! I always get their clucker sandwich, which is pretty good. However, it is very messy so don't try to eat this while driving. They put coleslaw on the sandwich which gives it a nice crunch, but they add a hot sauce to it and it is a little too spicy for me. Their fries are pretty good, too. I'm a fan of the not too soft, not too crunchy kind and they hit it on the head. Not too salty either. Overall a great place to grab a quick bite. My only complaint is that the workers do not wear gloves and the owner is a little rude. Luckily the place isn't dirty so the gloves didn't creep me out too much. read more

This place is just awesome! I took my family and boyfriend here. They all liked it especially my boyfriend! He came here 5 times in 1.5 weeks and ordered 5 times "call of the rooster" sandwich for himself. It's just so funny! He couldn't stop coming here, so I also came here with him and ended up ordering the same thing with him. We loved that sandwich! I had "Seoul dawg" hot dog and "the shroom portobello" sandwich before. They all were good although the Seoul dawg was a bit salty for me. Anyway, try the call of the rooster sandwich! Hope you'd like it too! read more

Stopped back in, purely for research's sake. Yup, Elvis burger still crazy delicious. My wife got the Bull Dawg (deep fried with slaw and onions) which she really liked. I thought it was solid, but not as good as the Elvis. We split a bucket of cheese fries. They are a good value and exactly what they sound like (a giant bucket of fried cheesy goodness). Finally, we actually got to try some shakes. She got a peanut butter and chocolate and I got the Latin Beat. The chocolate and peanut butter was very good, that's a flavor combination that is pretty hard to mess up. The Latin Beat was chocolate and ancho chiles. The ancho was a little unexpected, as most Mexican chocolate I've had features cinnamon and cayenne, while the ancho brought a smoky richness that really complimented the chocolate. It was perfectly spicy and tasty. Once again, a solid offering from Devil Dawgs. read more

New Found spot for lunch. Second time getting the "Clucker Sandwhich". Really good & not your regular chicken sandwhich. Lets start with the chicken. Decided to check out Devil Dawgs since it was close to the hotel I was staying at and it had a lot of positive reviews on Yelp. I tried the Chicago dog with onion rings and it was very good. The rings were not heavily battered and had a nice crunch. In hindsight, I should have tried a different hot dog since I had a Chicago dog before. read more

This is a great place that makes an excellent burger and excellent onion rings ... it's such a shame they never seem to be able to organize themselves, I waited 15 mins in a line of just two people to get served !! I've tried a few times here and the service time is really hit and miss .. well actually more miss really, if you don't mind waiting up to 45 mins to get your food, and honestly it is good food, then go for it, but it's just to long for what should be fast food read more

Definitely the place to go for dawgs in the South Loop area. I definitely consider myself a afficiadawgnado, and while this isn't Gene & Judes or Weiner Circle, it definitely gets the job done. I recommend the Sig Ep Dawg and a butterscotch shake. Cant go wrong with either of those. read more

If you're anywhere near Printers Row, have recently stumbled out of a bar, and are looking for some greasy goodness to help prevent a hangover, this is the only stop you need to make. Now is the quality of the food good? I would have to say no. Burgers are smashed up messes, the batter has always come off all the onion rings, and the coney sauce is borderline awful. The real question one must ask is: Does any of this matter at 2:15 am after 9 hours of drinking? And the answer to that is.... Absolutely NOT! I have eaten through the majority of the menu, in varying states of intoxication, and will recommend going with a Chicago Dawg, Double Elvis, and bag of rings with the awesome sauce if you find yourself in a wobbly condition. I would like to give this place 5 stars but I'm knocking off 1 because of the wait times one must endure. They can be painfully long and this restaurant is not designed to handle the foot traffic it gets at peak times. Also knocking a star off because of that one time I bought food here totally sober and was able to eat with my eyes open. Had one of those "Wow so THIS is what it looks like?" moments. Kinda frightening actually. Shout out though for dirt-cheap prices (try to pay with cash) and Cholula always being available. read more

So good!!! I got the Chicago style dawg, reg. American cheeseburger, bag o' fries, and chocolate monkey shake. The dawg was juicy and the condiments set it off. The burger was moist and savory. In town for a conference and staying down the road at the Chicago Hilton, I just had to try it out.....oh my...... The fries and onion rings were also good - the onion ring breading was crispy - yummy again!!! The best part, though, was my milkshake - I had a "Banana Split" and it was quite frankly one of the best milkshakes I've ever had in my life - it's probably better I don't live here since I would probably try to figure out a way to live on the milkshakes...... read more
