My iPad 9 wasn't holding a charge so I took it to Device Pitstop. I was told by a surly clerk there was something wrong with one of the "boards" and that it would be $250 plus tax ($263) to fix. I paid it, picked it up the next day and took it home with a 100% charge. The next day it worked for awhile and then I kept getting a message "Not charging". I took it in a couple of days later and left it again. I was told they had to order "a piece" and it was kept for 4 days, and after I made an inquiry I was told they were finishing with it and I could pick it up. Once again the unpleasant clerk helped me and I was told that if it happened again it would my charger because they checked it on their numerous chargers and it worked. In other words, don't bring it back in. Within a matter of hours it stopped charging intermittently, and within a day stopped charging completely. I'm out $263 with absolutely nothing to show for it. read more

Our kiddo got a Nintendo Switch for Christmas and proceeded to spill water on it a few weeks later ‍. We brought it in to Device Pitstop to see if there was any hope reviving it. The staff was very friendly and said they would look at it, even though the Internet said it was hard to fix a water damaged Switch. A few days later, Device Pitstop called me to let me know they thought it needed a new battery and that it would be $100 if that was true. I was more than willing to pay that to get our kiddo her Switch back! Today, they called again and said they found corrosion and it didn't need a new battery, so we only had to pay $50 to fix the Switch! We are so impressed with the service here, they saved us from having to buy a whole new Switch! Professional, timely and affordable! read more

I have to give another big thanks to Josh at Device Pitstop for fixing my computer in five minutes. I had been on the phone with Microsoft for hours, taken the computer to geek squad, both of whom told me I would have to reset my computer, lose all my apps, and transfer my files, no other option. Because I thought I just made a dumb mistake that was preventing Windows from turning on (Leaving an encrypted USB drive in the computer when I restarted it) I was sure there must be something simple to fix, or at least TRY before resorting to such drastic measures. I inquired using Yelp for the price of replacing the battery on my iPhone 8+. The owner quoted a flat rate of $60. I went to the store and the employee behind the counter immediately stated it was $80 for the battery plus $30 to do a diagnostic...I then showed the owners response to the employee who took it to his manager who then approved the quote from the owner as the price I would pay. Sounds a tad shady, but at least they honored the quoted price. iPhone has worked and charged well since. So, work was done correctly. read more

I don't understand how this business has such a high rating on Yelp. Here's my experience: I took my laptop in because Google Chrome would not work. I could not get on the internet. When I handed over my laptop I told them this. I also told them that I had requested from Facebook to have them send me all of my photos and videos. I had downloaded this onto my laptop. I only mentioned this to them because if they saw that my hard drive was dying to save this download. It was the only thing I didn't have backed up. They had it a week. I spoke to and sent emails to: Mikey, Brent and Dillon. Finally I called and spoke to a man named Jonathan who told me that NO ONE HAD EVEN LOOKED AT MY LAPTOP. That they don't know anything about Facebook. I told him that I wish they had told me upfront about "not knowing anything about Facebook or I never would have handed it over. He said he would have it fixed by the next day. I got a call that he had fixed it. I get it home and I still could not successfully get on the internet. I called and emailed. They gave me no explanation. The communication was one sided. I paid them. They did nothing but take my money. They have no customer service skills, and I don't think that cared if my laptop was fixed or not. As of now, after both speaking to Brent yesterday and sending him an email explicitly and in plain terms explained my problem with the laptop. I have heard nothing. And I even called to ask him to check his email for the one I sent- he was busy but the message would be passed on to him. I was told it would take 5-7 days to diagnose the problem. It has now been 11days and they have not reached out to me. I'm going to buy a new laptop today due to their incompetence. I gave them so many chances to at least communicate with me. They couldn't even do that. One last thing, no one gave me their correct email address. I even called and had them spell it for me. I kept getting them sent back to me. I finally figured their email address on my own. This was going on over the past 11days. I know they received all my emails after I had to figure out what their actual email address was. I know that the internet in my home works. My phone connects to it. I had friends come over with their laptops and hop right on my internet. They used Google Chrome and navigated to several legitimate websites. In response to the owner of this establishment: The problem was that my internet does not work. At this point I don't even care about the Facebook photos and pics sent to me. It will be a hassle, but I know how to request them again. THIS WAS NEVER THE MAIN ISSUE!!! Also, how should I "call you"? You did not leave me any contact information. I'm not calling your store again- they don't pass on messages! Also, if you actually cared about getting my laptop fixed, you should have called ME. I only made this post as a last resort. Obviously I failed. read more

I called Device Pitstop on a Saturday and was told they could replace my laptop battery by Tuesday. When I dropped my laptop off 30 minutes later, I was told it could be repaired by Wednesday. When they called me on Monday to quote me a price (granted I took it in KNOWING the problem - a dead battery) they told me it would be ready on Thursday. After receiving no call on Thursday, I called Thursday night myself and was told it would be ready on Friday. Tired of all the run around, I went to pick it up on Thursday and take it to have it repaired elsewhere. I was then told I would still have to pay for the price of the battery even though it was never installed. After I convinced them that was ridiculous, I was then told I would still have to pay a $60 diagnostic fee even though I took it in KNOWING it needed a new battery and specifically said, just change the battery. They basically held my laptop hostage in the back until I paid the fee. At that time I told them they would be receiving bad reviews from me and their response was, go ahead that's fine. It was a terrible experience. I'm not one to typically leave reviews but this was completely unprofessional service and felt like I had taken my laptop to a group of thugs that have zero professional skills. I received no check in status of my computer for any physical damage, no receipt with terms of service, no feedback when there were obviously delays, and after emailing the address on their FB page and also messaging them through the corporate FB page, zero response. I took my computer to Apple, got great service and it was fixed in three days. I guess the old saying is true : good work ain't cheap and cheap work ain't good. Don't try to save any money here, it will only cost you more in the long run - sixty bucks more to be exact which was exactly the price difference between them and apple. Just go with the pros instead and let the amateurs rip off someone else. read more

Dropped off my iPad for repair. They were super great and kind with getting it set up and also I enjoy that they have a SMS/Online Profile alert to allow you to keep up with the process of your repair/replacement. One complaint is that the day they told me it would be done (which was several days longer than I had hoped being told the part was already in store) I had called to ask if I could come pick it up and I was then told it hadn't even been touched. It sat in their shop for 4 days before being worked on. Overall, I was very happy with the customer service, everyone was kind and informative. So far the iPad is in great working condition again and I will use them again for any future problems that may arise. read more

This is an awesome little computer shop in Lexington that knows what they are doing. I really liked the warm welcome when I entered into the shop, and they even have an Ale8 fridge! I got my laptop repaired here and it was done very quickly and correctly! I'm very pleased. I'm not in the market right now for a new machine, but I like their inventory and I will definitely check this place out when I am. All their laptops come with a warranty, and they do the servicing there in the store, which is a big deal if you've ever dealt with Apple or Best Buy. Took my phone in to get repaired as well as my laptop to sell. The gentlemen there proceeded to ignore me at the counter for about twenty minutes and when they finally did they were polite enough and I had high hopes becase the workers seemed to know what they were talking about. However after they got my phone they disappeared into the back for about thirty minutes while the young guy at the desk offered me $10 for my 100% working i7 Dell. That was ennoying annuf but then they came back and said that my phone was dead and couldnt be fixed even though I know it was working when I took it in there and the only problem was a broken screen. Dont reccomend these guys unless you want to get ripped off. Only good thing I have to say is there prices on computers they were selling seemed good but that hardly makes up for destroying my phone. read more
