The current business hours reflect 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. being available to drop by without an appointment. However, the door to the business is locked and customers can not just drop by during that time. In order to receive service, you need to call or text and have someone meet you at the door. This can be difficult when the staff is non-responsive to text messages during the scheduled "open" time for the business. In general, the poor communication made this business very difficult to work with and left me not knowing when or how I was going to be able to pick up my items. I had a USB drive that I needed to retrieve data from, I called the business to schedule a time that I would be able to drop off my equipment and I was surprised to see the door to the business was locked. I wasn't sure what to do as this was not communicated when I spoke to them. I thought that maybe I had driven an hour for nothing. I texted and called and finally got the guy to meet me outside the door. I should have taken this as a red flag - but I ignored it and continued to drop off my equipment. It was within an hour they called and said they couldn't do anything with my drive. At this point, I also had an SD card with some of the same information that was on the drive so I asked if he could take a look at that and recover the previously deleted files. I drove back to the store and picked up the hard drive and dropped off the SD card. Later that evening, I received a call saying he could retrieve the images from the SD card but that I would need to bring in another drive to copy them to. This was very confusing why he needed a separate drive to copy them to. I asked if the process he was using was going to damage the SD card and if it would be usable again and he said I would still be able to use it. (The SD card never failed - I had simply deleted files.) I didn't understand why the files could not be put back on the same SD card. But I spent another trip bringing an additional drive for the files. I was supposed to drop off the drive and wait for the transfer to happen - which he said was expected to be about an hour. But when he started transferring the files he told me it was going to take over 4 hours (3000 photos). This messed up my entire plan for the day having driven an hour to his shop as I had somewhere else I was supposed to be at that time. I had other errands to run that day and he said he would call me when it was finished and I could decide if I could pick up that day - I said ok. After my other errands - 6 hours later - I called to check and he said oh yeah it was finished (he never notified me) and did I want to come pick it up. I was not able to pick up that day due to bad traffic in the area. I told him I was not going to be able to and I guessed I would have to pick it up next week. On every one of my visits, I offered to pay for the service and he kept telling me to do it when I picked it up. Then a couple days later, he called and wanted to take payment over the phone. I was hoping to pick up the card on Friday, but due to a death in the family I was not able to make it there. My next plan was to pick up on Monday I texted a couple times to clarify if Monday would work for them and I didn't get a response. I texted again and let them know that I needed confirmation that Monday would work since I was driving an hour and had to take time off work to come there. I got a message back saying that would work. When I arrived on Monday at the agreed upon time, I texted to let them know I was there and did not receive any response. I was standing outside the door for 20 minutes when he came to the door and was totally clueless who I was or why I was there. I reminded him that I was scheduled to pick up my equipment and told him my name. He went back inside to retrieve my items, but he clearly was not in any hurry. I would not recommend this business based on the poor communication and extremely limited time availability. Something that should have taken me 2 trips ended up taking 3 trips - adding an additional $20 in gas / time. I also ended up waiting at the door for nearly an hour between all the trips. I ended up taking my hard drive to another place in Lexington to which their service and communication was top notch. I wish I would have taken my SD card to them as I would have been serviced faster and MUCH cheaper than what I paid them. read more

These guys are the BEST! I needed hard drive upgrades on 3 of our work laptops to SSD from the old disk type. Not only were they extremely fair on their pricing, but they were easy to work with, flexible, communicative and timely. One of the 3 laptops gave us issues but it was no big deal. Chris took it back and re-did it for us promptly and free of charge. Now all three laptops are working 5 x faster, with larger drives and I couldn't be happier. I took in our ASUS laptop to find out why it refused to charge. They were going to charge me $120 for replacement. I gave the green light to order any parts as needed. Later, I was told that the motherboard may be the main issue and there will be no charge. Better to get a new laptop instead. I appreciate how they waived the fee. I bought a computer from this man. The power supply went on it he replaced it with a lower power supply. I video recorded the whole conversation Right outside his shop on public grounds you can hear in his voice he was scared because he knew he was caught. When you try to argue with a customer because you think you're right it does not make you a Pro the only Pro you are good at is ripping people off. Yes you did replace the power supply after you were caught with a higher wattage, but it was because you knew you were caught. If I never have shown up to call you out on the wrong power supply box No harm No fowl. A year Later I thought I give this place a second chance. Bought a power supply Found out it was my liquid cooling not working. Went to return the power supply, because I did ask him for a seat sink to convert the computer from liquid cooling to heat sink. I said I will repair it myself he insisted he'd fix it so he wouldn't have to return money I got the used heat sink sitting out of the pc. Then he wanted to put in It was the wrong Heat sink. I Didn't care if it was used. Computer was still over heating. I called a Man that used to work for him. The man happen to have a genuine AMD3+ Heat sink with a fan. That man was very kind Not trying to insist he'd fix my computer. Anyways not here to play an argument game I'm here for a review. This is what happened. I will not give this man anymore business. It was great at the beginning . Nonetheless as more delays on my computer were coming I became very unpleasant. I did not like how Steve(n) waited for a week so he could hear my approval of only 10 dollars more on my bill. Even if that is the policy he did not sent an email or text, only one call. I have been to other places were they sent an email, text, and call. I was expecting this service, since I barely check my voicemails. There was so much things that was out of control of Computers Plus Repair, but I did not like how they handle the communication aspect with the customer. The second delay I was contacted by Steven faster because I suggested him to send me an email and a phone call. I only went to this place because your rating was great, but after this experience it was absolutely terrible. My friend broke her computer and I was ready to recommend this place but after the first delay I told her to wait and see if I liked the service, and I'm glad I did. He damaged my computer a bit, so he could replaced the screen and there was no discount of any kind after all this delays and defects. It's a great company to fix computers, but not if your are in a time constraint. And if there is any unexpected delays be prepared to only receive a sorry and here your computer without taking any ownership of their problems they caused.
