Wow, wow, wow! I'm already planning to go back! Imagine a thunderous and rainy afternoon. I'm sitting in an office lobby waiting on a friend who had an appointment, and I knew I was going to take her to lunch afterward, so I had some time to research where to go. YOU KNOW I came to our beloved Yelp and searched "seafood." The restaurant was a little hard to find (hidden gem), so I used a couple of different map apps to get us there. The location really reminded me of Alameda, California, and all the lovely boats and whatnot! The outdoor dining really caught my eye, because I love to dine al fresco, but due to soggy conditions, we opted for inside (not knowing at the time that there is also covered outdoor dining available). We arrived right at opening time, so we basically had the space to ourselves (though the hostess tried to cram us into a tiny little space that was packed with people). We picked a different table because we're grown, and there were kids right next to us in that cramped little space. (Why do hosts try to pile patrons on top of one another, anyway?) We did two appetizers: Loaded "Old Bay" Crabby Chips and Smoked Fish Dip with Baguette. The Loaded "Old Bay" Crabby Chips are loaded indeed and quite good in and of themselves. However, I don't recommend pairing them with the exquisite Smoked Fish Dip. The Dip is very subtle, creamy, and divine (will definitely order it again when I return!), and it provided a stark contrast to the Loaded "Old Bay" Crabby Chips, rendering them, frankly, salty. So, I recommend both dishes -- especially the Dip! -- just not together. Drinks! I indulged in Strawberry Isles! Deeelicious! There was no basil, but the strawberries were sooooo sweet! For our entrée, we went with a fish basket. When I think basket, I think shareable and bite-sized; fingers, like the menu says. Our server -- who is amazing and so patient, by the way! -- did advise us that it comes in fillet. And it did. Exactly one large, crisp, perfectly seasoned fillet, which was easily halved. Taste? Divine! Everything is so fresh! Since it's a waterside location, you can just smell the coastal life as soon as you get out of the car. Powerful and intoxicating! Can't wait to go back! Thank you! (I gather this was recently re-opened as of 6 months ago? Very nice!!) Oh, and the hushpuppies, which I am generally not a fan of, were interestingly sweet! I liked them. Nice palate cleanser.

Special menu.

A hidden gem. Low country boil was excellent, a half pound of fluffy Georgia white shrimp was more than enough. We also had a flounder po boy that was excellent as well. The service was superb. Will definitely go back again.

Interesting location, shrimp peeled onto newspapers, pitchers of cold beer. I got what I came here for, and I keep coming back.

After looking at the chandelier we noticed how dirty it was and had dead bugs on it. Yuck. Our server came over and filled our waters and they had a bug in it as well. The server didn't seem like he really knew what was going the entire time and many times we had to get his attention to get our orders taken etc. We got apps. Which came out relatively quickly, but some of them were cold. They did have good flavor, but would've been better fresh. We then ordered our entrees and they took FOREVER. I know most of them were sitting in the window because the food was either cold or the plates were scolding hot. There were probably only 5 other tables in the restaurant. Also at one point we accidentally spilled a glass of water. There were 3 servers standing nearby just chatting and looking. No one bothered to bring some more napkins or try to help. Overall I would not come back to this location. It's pricey and the service isn't great for what you're paying.

I enjoyed the ceviche as my starter, the pork chop as my entree, and the skillet brownie for dessert. Fresh, flavorful, and well-balanced. The host was warm and welcoming. My waiter was attentive and knowledgable and guided me into food and drink choices I very much enjoyed. I'm new to Savannah and am trying out a variety of restaurants. This restaurant's pricing and portions were very fair. It's also a quieter atmosphere than the others right on the river. You can enjoy conversation and the company of your loved ones. Experience a robust and flavorful meal here and then take a stroll along the river as a nightcap. Your tastebuds will thank you. It was a little bonus that they're dog-friendly and my pup and I could enjoy the outdoor seating together.

Been here for both dinner and lunch. All this said, I think my approach to this review is comprehensive. With regard to food, I think they have a decent (not expansive) selection of food, which I think lends itself to quality. They do most things really well. This said, I do think there is inconsistency based on staff at the restaurant. On one occasion they have accommodated a request, and on another I was denied the exact same request. I found this frustrating. On one occasion I've also seen management talk down to staff here, which is a big no no for me. All people (especially staff) are due respect and this rubbed me the wrong way. This was an isolated incident but it definitely made my dining experience uncomfortable. Especially because I was getting excellent service from the server!!! I've always had quality service from servers here. In the future, I would come to Rhett for convenience as a hotel guest (the hotel is lovely), but would likely not spend my money if I wasn't staying at the hotel. Overall- it's good food, decent ambiance... but there are soooo many good options in Savannah. You have to be exceptional to stand out in that city.

The rooftop has such a great view of the city, but if you can time your visit around sunset...DO IT! The view is absolutely beautiful and makes this a perfect stop for drinks, oysters and good vibes. This time I came with friends while we were bar hopping around Savannah, and Alysia took great care of us. She was friendly, attentive and provided great customer service throughout our visit. As for the food, the French Quarter Oysters and Fried Catfish Bites are the usual suspects for me. I know what I like, and I'm sticking to it! The oysters are always fresh, and those catfish bites never disappoint. Good drinks, fresh seafood, a beautiful rooftop and one of the best sunset views in Savannah. Our server, Jackson, was equally impressive. The service simply could not have been better. I prefer my oysters roasted, and Sorry Charlie's offers six varieties. Unfortunately for me, four contain pork, which I do not eat. The fifth, Nduja, was unavailable, leaving the Garlic and Parmesan. As it turned out, they were excellent, so no complaints there. The beer deserves a mention as well. I had an ale that was cold and fresh, just as it should be. Even better was happy hour, when a beer normally priced at $7 was only $3. That's a discount of nearly 60%! Happy hour also features some oysters for just $1 or $2 each, which is quite a deal. We shared the She-Crab Soup, which was every bit as good as anything we get back home in Maryland, where we know a thing or two about crab. The Blue Crab Cakes were Savannah-style and slightly overdone, as the accompanying photos show, but nonetheless very good. There were plenty of other menu items we would have liked to try, but we finished with the Skillet Brownie, served hot in a small cast-iron skillet. It was pretty commercial and nothing particularly memorable, but heck, we came for Sorry Charlie's oysters, not Sorry Charlie's skillet brownie. The bottom line: Excellent oysters, very good seafood, cold beer at terrific happy-hour prices, and outstanding service from Savannah and Jackson. The kind of restaurant we would happily visit again, with plenty still on the menu worth exploring.
