Lunch Special.

The food was very authentic and very delicious. The service was top-notch. The staff is extremely friendly and engaging. The atmosphere is nice. If you're looking for Indian food in the Clearwater area or desire to try Indian food Desi Tadka is the place

I paid almost $50 thinking it was going to feed two people but that's all I got. The food was good but not worth the money.

This is the best Indian restaurant in the Oldsmar area with a few caveats. First of all the food is a highlight - everything I've had was delectable. There is flavor in every bite and the food isn't greasy as some other Indian places around here. I've liked everything I have tried. Some recommendations include the gongura lamb, saag paneer, and lamb korma. Service is generally okay but can be somewhat lacking when the restaurant is busy. Slightly annoying when two entrees, one lassi, and garlic naan costs approximately $50 before tip. Finally, the pick up service is abysmal. If you place an order it is rarely, if ever, ready on time. In fact, you're better off estimating your order won't be ready on time when placing your order to avoid aggravating yourself. Tonight it took me almost an hour to get my order. The kicker was once I got home I realized my order was missing a side. Had to drive all the way back to get it so overall it took probably one and a half hours to get my order. Overall, if you're in the area Desi Tadka is worth a visit. Just avoid busy dining hours and try not to place a pick up order unless you have to.

This restaurant has reliable and on-point Indian fare. But for the price? Not sure it's affordable for regular takeout for me anymore. Butter chicken and chicken tikka masala were both nearly $19 each! Add butter naan, the Gobi Manchurian appetizer and what should have been only one extra order of rice for the kiddo, and we got a $61+ bill! For takeout? I'll be getting Thai next time.

Finally now getting to eat out as a few places are open. Have not had many experiences in Indian food but my daughter wanted to try it and reviews were good. We came after church with my wife, daughter, grand-daughter and I. We arrived a little after their opening at noon. We were the first customers to arrive and were greeted and seated immediately. We ordered Samosas for an appetizer as we perused the menu. They were hot and crisp and delicious! Yum! For entrees we ordered the Chicken Korma, one spicy & one medium; the Lamb Curry medium spicy and the Chicken Saagwalla medium spicy. And Basmati Rice with each, plus Garlic Naan & Butter Naan. Now I am a salt fiend, and no - my blood pressure is great, I salt everything! Although the salt was on the table, I never reached for it. All the items were wonderfully seasoned and all were delicious. There was nothing that any of us did not like. All the dishes were great. The only thing I would change is to up the heat a bit. I usually go easy on spices in a new place until I get a feel for their heat levels. Next time, and there will definitely be next timeS, I will go for max heat.

* Vegetable Samosa * Saag Paneer * Channa Masala * Chicken Madras * Chicken Tikka Masala * Basmati Rice

Very salty food. I ordered a lamb biryani and was disappointed as the salt level was highly unhealthy.

This is our go to Indian restaurant for dine in and take out. They are consistent, the most flavorful in the area, and very kind staff.

Ask the Community - Desi Tadka Indian Cusine

Is the lunch buffet back?

We have now Lunch special Thali. Thali has 3 dishes with Rice and Naan

Is the buffet open during pandemic? If so, open weekends, too? Thanks!

The buffet is currently not open during the pandemic. We hope to resume normal buffet hours soon and will notify our customers on our main site. Stay tuned!

Has the restaurant changed ownership? Chef? Buffer not as good as usual.

Not that I'm aware of but, I haven't had the opportunity to go in for about a month so possibly ?‍♀️

What is the buffet price and the buffet hours?

$10.99. 11am-2pm...but don't show up at 1:30 and expect a full selection unless you go on a Friday. They're closed Monday, I believe.

I've eaten Indian cuisine all over the U.S. and extensively throughout Pinellas County, so I can tell when a kitchen is cutting corners. This place does not cut corners. The Food: This is Indian "soul food" at its finest. You can taste the difference between scratch-made cooking and the "sauce-in-a-jar" shortcuts many other places rely on. Aloo Tikki Chaat: If you order one thing, make it this. It was "love at first bite." The tamarind chutney was exquisitely balanced, and the mint chutney provided a cooling finish without stepping on the other flavors. The combination of sweet, cool, and savory was unlike anything I've tasted before. Entrees: We shared the Chicken Tikka Masala (excellent depth of flavor with perfect cardamom rice) and the Shrimp Biryani, which was executed with traditional techniques and total precision. Garlic Naan: You can tell immediately that this was made from scratch and cooked the right way in a tandoor. Mango Lassi: Don't skip this! It's the perfect accompaniment to the meal. The Ambiance: One of the best parts of the evening was the atmosphere. It was refreshingly QUIET. In a world where every restaurant feels the need to blast loud music or have 20 different football games playing on screens, Discovery Indian is a sanctuary. I was actually able to enjoy my meal and have a conversation with my daughter without being overstimulated. The Service: The care and love for food shown in the kitchen extends to the overall experience. It was a relaxed, attentive, and high-quality dining experience from start to finish. We are already planning to come back and eat our way through the rest of the menu. If you want authentic flavors and a peaceful place to enjoy them, go here.

They also have a Punjabi buffet over there on Tuesdays I think she told me. Anyhoo, we will be visiting over there soon & will update that location. Copper Indian Cuisine in Westchase was an excellent find…read more The restaurant is beautifully decorated -- there's a small bar when you first walk in, but the back dining area is really elegant, cozy, and thoughtfully designed. It immediately feels like a great place to sit down and enjoy a relaxed meal. Service was excellent. Our server, Dominic, was very attentive and gave helpful recommendations throughout the meal. Everything we ordered was delicious. The flavors were bold and well balanced, and the medium spice level was perfect -- flavorful with just the right amount of heat without being overwhelming. I also asked for extra yogurt sauce just in case things got spicy, and that ended up being the perfect cooling addition. What we ordered: * Taj Mahal Premium Lager -- crisp, light, and refreshing. A great pairing with the spices in the meal. * Samosa Chaat -- we were told this is a traditional Indian street food. It consisted of vegetable samosas chopped up and topped with yogurt sauce, chutneys, and special spices, creating a great balance of creamy, tangy, and savory flavors. * Garlic Naan -- warm, soft, and perfectly garlicky. * Tandoori Platter -- a generous assortment of tandoori chicken, lamb chops, and shrimp, cooked in the tandoor with beautiful smoky flavor and spices. The platter was served with basmati rice and sauces on the side, which complemented the meats perfectly. Most of the meal was gluten-free, with the exception of the naan and the samosa chaat appetizer. I do wish they offered gluten-free naan or samosas, which would make an already great menu even more accessible. They also offer weekday and weekend happy hours (I included a photo of the menu for anyone interested). We will definitely be back. This will easily become our go-to Indian restaurant in the area.

We also did chicken 65, and a vegetable curry. The prefix menu could not have the spice level adjusted however I found it tolerable (I have a reasonably high spice tolerance) and the other items we asked for mild and they were perfect. The service was top notch. Extremely friendly and personable staff, we felt welcome from the beginning. We also had the chef come and check on us and the part that stood out to me is that everyone working here was happy and proud of their food. The interior of the restaurant is very nice. I loved the setup and the lighting. It was perfect for a romantic evening and for enjoying food with friends. I will absolutely come back. This is now one of my favorite restaurants in Tampa. The staff and excellent food made this an experience I will remember.
