We as a family have been going to Desi for the last three years and have been confidently taking all four of cars. Personally, I don't know much about cars but I trust Desi in the work he does and what he says. He's always willing to work around your schedule, and is eager to help you. Like all the other yelp reviews said very reasonable price! You won't find better out there especially coming from an honorable mechanic like him, don't go searching elsewhere! This place is great! I like supporting small local businesses and this place was recommended by a colleague. Harchand was very personable and easy to work with. I had my transmission fluid and power steering fluid changed. Felt he did a great job and was very honest with competitive pricing. I dropped off at 10am and was able to pick up by noon. Great place, will come back! read more

Harchand is a friendly and honest mechanic. There was no upselling and the price he charged for the work was very fair. My car has been running great since with no issues. I'll be taking all of my cars here going forward. read more

Desi is a really good honest mechanic. It's hard to find an auto shop who will break down what went wrong with your car and what your options are. Desi is that type of mechanic. I've never felt pressured or that he didn't break down parts and labor costs. I found a mechanic I'll probably use for life. read more

Absolutely awesome. great guy, honest, hard working and gets the job done the first time, right. Myself, my wife, and my son go to Desi Auto first. Over several years zero problems. read more

I'd definitely recommend this business to anyone who's looking for oil change services. The owner made it super easy for me. No reservation needed and my car was ready in 35 minutes. read more

First visit to Desi Auto Repair and I officially agree with all of the other yelp reviews. The shop: was a little difficult(not impossible) to find because there are so many small shops in that area. Small shop but very well organized and had banners and floor mats saying the business name which made it seem very professional and welcoming. The repair/service: huge shoutout to the owner for being a great guy! I called the day before and let him know I have a 03 mustang that needs a alternator, belt, and brake light switch replaced. I already had all the replacement parts and just needed him to install. He told me to bring it in the following morning and I met him at the shop at 7:30am. Now the kicker is I found out the owner is the only mechanic and works on all jobs himself! I love this because he controls the quality of the work he puts out and also the success of the business. Owner was a straight up guy and charged me a fair price and had the car done in an hour and half(I was expecting minimum 2 hours). Overall I am very happy with the service and level of quality work that was completed. I will definitely be back for any future needs and this is my new go to shop!!! read more

Desi Auto Repair is my go-to for al things auto repair related. He is always available, willing to help, and courteous on the phone and in person. Most importantly, he always gets the job done and charges a very reasonable price. I've come in for oil changes, check engine light issues, and even a side mirror replacement. No matter what the problem is, they will take care of you. If you're looking for a local business to support, with an honest owner, where you will get great service and excellent work done, Desi Auto Repair is the place to go! read more

I needed to have some repairs done to my truck so that it could pass smog and the stealership quoted me an arm and a leg to fix the issues. But thanks to all you amazing Yelpers, I was able to find Desi Car Auto. Harchand and Shelly were both awesome! Shelly offered me great conversation right away, and Harchand was able to get to the base of my problems and solve them immediately! I left my truck there overnight and it was up and running the next day! Thank you for being friendly, quick, efficient, and for not emptying out my bank account! I will be bringing all of my cars to you from now on!!! You guys are excellent!!! read more

Great local business with quality service and an honest owner. I will absolutely continue to bring my car here.

My battery died and these guys came to the rescue. Affordable, friendly, no drama, would recommend without reservation.

Friendly, honest, and quick service! After moving to CA, I ran into many scammers, especially in the auto repair world, so I was not sure what to expect when I went there. But, I was wrong. He was friendly, exceptionally helpful and did the service in less than 20 minutes. The price was so reasonable as well. The same service at Toyota dealership cost me over $100 with half of the day leaving the car with them. I would recommend this place for anyone! read more

Desi Auto has offered amazing service for my cars during the past 8 years. He is honest, and services my cars in a timely manner. I recommend all of my friends to go see Desi. read more

My sister was starting her driving license test and as the instructor was checking the break lights, she noticed the right break light was out. Luckily, she was nice enough to let us come back in after it was fixed. We found Desi Auto Repair and Harchand quickly helped us out in five minutes! Really nice guy, super helpful, quick and efficient. Would highly recommend coming here for any of your needs. read more

One of the best car service place to visit, with expertise in European and vintage cars. Things which, differentiate them from other is their quality of work within the time limit and better rates. This place is great! They changed my oil and fixed the break lights in less than an hour for a very great price. I would argue the best price I have ever paid for synthetic oil and a couple bulb changes. I highly recommend coming here. Today my car had a coolant leak on my way home . I called them and they helped me right away when I made it to the repair shop they offered me great customer service and honest service. I highly recommend this auto mechanic. read more

Pretty awesome place, like others, found this place through groupon. Pretty hidden spot so I imagine they get most of the customers through word of mouth or through these kind of promotions. It's a husband and wife team, very nice couple. Very good service, got oil change and they threw in a free tire rotation since it was my first time. I think I'll be going back for all my other car services from now on. read more

Hidden Gem! Desi auto repair is best described as "A friendly neighbor with all the right tools" He does all kinds of work for me on all kinds of makes an models. Desi is a one man operation but don't think he won't get things done. Safety inspections, PPI,PSI, Oil changes, tire rotations, service, part replacement, you name it. He has fixed countless cars for me and my coworkers including Volvo, BMW,Mercedes,Acura,Honda, Ford,Chevy,GMC, Lincoln, and basically any car you see on the road. I have always been given the straight up info about the car and haven't ever been pressured to do work like other shops. Friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, fairly priced, never leaves a mess, need I say more? Don't go to that crowded franchise oil change place, go down the hill and enjoy the view of your car getting worked on by my favorite car doctor. If you're there and feel restless take a walk along the trails that run through the parking lot and check out the area. Plenty of good places to get food within a 3-5 minute walk. If you're buying a car from a dealership new or used, you have found your guy. Next time that check engine or service light comes on, give Desi a visit. You will leave with a new friend! read more

Desi Auto Repair - Desi Auto Repair oil change/service - Auto Repair Near Me - Walnut Creek, California

They seriously were so amazing!! I found their special on Groupon and I was literally in and out with in 15 minutes. The staff was amazing and I would definitely recommend going to them and I will definitely will be going back read more

Like others, I too discovered Desi Auto Repair because of Groupon. It's tucked away in a complex of similar auto related facilities and can be a bit of work to find but is worth it. Highlights: - Small, family run business - Friendly staff - Clean interior - Interesting auto-themed decor including wood and galvanized panels, radiator grills and bar stools, softened by plants and couches - Right next to the Contra Costa Canal Trail which links to the Iron Horse Trail. Ride your bike or take a stroll while they're working on the car. - Fast, told me they'd be done in 30 mins. I rode the bike for 90 mins. - Single bay, so they can work on one car only. This means, no distractions - as in you're not going to wake up and discover the surgeon has removed your liver instead of kidney stones. - Amazing Groupon deal Other: - The parking lot gets tight because of all the other repair shops around - This is not the place to try a Hollywood two-wheel stunt turn because the entrance to the complex is not clearly marked and ingress/egress from Main St. is tight. Although, if you aren't paying attention, you may be doing just that. - Appointments required because they only have one bay Overall, I liked the place and shall be back. read more

What more can I say?! Harchand is by far one of the premier and knowledgeable mechanics in the bay area. His prices were beyond fair and his customer service is bar none. I came in for a simple window tensioner repair. The passanger window was not rolling back up. Needless to say this was an urgent fix. I called him up and drove in the same day. Boom-window fixed with hella money left in my pocket. Thank you desi auto!! read more

I bring all my cars (new, old, European, American) to Desi Auto Repair for more than 5 years now. Services are reliable and I have not encountered any issue. As all other reviewers are saying, Harchand is honest and rates are very reasonable. I will keep bringing my cars here. read more

Very honest mechanic glad for my friend who referred me here I will remain a customer in future very trustworthy business

This guy is hands down the most honest mechanic I've ever met. I met Harchad about 6 years ago when I needed a repair on my car asap...I took care of me right then and there and since then, I bring him every car I own and recommend him whenever I'm asked if I know a good mechanic. He's an honest guy, he's timely, well priced and the work is solid.. I highly recommend Desi Auto read more

Desi Auto Repair has become my go-to auto shop. The first time I went there was a few years ago when my left mirror fell off and was hanging by one cable. Harchand took the time (for free) to use a screwdriver to attach the mirror back on temporarily so I wouldn't have to worry about it dangling while I drove. Then a couple days later when the part came in, he attached on the new mirror for one-third of the cost that another auto shop quoted me. I go to Desi for all of my oil changes and repairs. He is honest, responsive, and genuinely cares for people. He will not scam you like many other shops will. His costs are the best I have seen. I highly recommend him. I also suggest calling him ahead of time for specific hours and to see if he can do the exact work you're asking for. read more

I was having a misfire issue with my vehicle and I drove to Desi Auto without an appointment. I got there first thing in the morning to hopefully get help or not interrupt the shop during someone else's appointment. I am unsure of the gentleman's name who helped me but from his help, I see why people give this place 5 stars. He was in the middle of working on a transmission but took some time to help me with my problem. Luckily, we found which spark plugs they were and was a simple fix. He took some time out of his busy schedule to help me which meant a lot. This is now my main mechanic for any future work! read more

Desi Auto Repair is the only place I will go for my car needs. I have always gotten great service and been treated very well. The staff is friendly and always does a great job with explaining exactly what they've done and their recommendations to keep my vehicle in top shape. I've been here a couple times to service my car, once for a general oil change/tire rotation and again for tire alignment. I've trusted my beloved 1966 Mustang here for several years, and they've always done a great job. Never a redo, or a problem caused by a procedure. They are honest, straightforward and will not try to sell you something that you don't really need just to turn a buck. Saved me a lot of money! Found a repair that was unnecessary that another shop said I needed. Based on Desi Auto Repair's track record with me thus far, its a sure thing I will be back. Thanks for the outstanding service! read more

I was one of the lucky customers to purchase their Groupon Deal last month. What a steal! I just got home from my first oil change and I was impressed with the friendliness and professionalism by both the mechanic and his wife, who runs the front desk/admin part of the auto repair shop. I give them 5 stars for taking me in on time because I don't usually like going to places where you have an appointment and still have to wait; what's the point, right? Also, my third brake light was out. I offered to pay the difference to have it fixed but the technician asked me to purchase my $3 bulb at a supply store and he installed it without charge and all smiles! You can't find that in most auto repair shop where everything is charged by the minute. Even after my Groupon deal expires, I'll be back here for sure. I love supporting small businesses with competent and friendly people!! read more

Okay so here it goes...I've been to many mechanics since buying an older model GTI that kept running into issue for a while. I would go to different mechanics just to see what they thought of the problem at hand.. I would get different stories from each one and my gut would tell me "do NOT trust them". Desi Auto was recommended to me by my sister during this time while my car was parked drive less. From the first time I met him (and I've been there a few times..), he has taken care of me like family. His pricing has been extremely reasonable, I feel like I'm taking a Honda to him verses the VW. One thing I really appreciated about him obviously is his honesty (very uncommon trait unfortunately among Mechanics, giving ones like Desi an uncalled for bad rep). If he feels he can't help you with a specific problem he just says so. Not that he's not well versed in what he does cause he's solved issue the damn Dealer couldn't resolve for me and just wanted to keep " trying" things and changing parts $$$$!!! Desi is my go to place period. And I love the look of his place, very comfy, cozy look and super clean. What I do at times while waiting is check out them hot women next door doing Crossfit! What! I'm a man with good amount testosterone running through me! Besides their have been studies with women being injected with more testosterone and it having the same effect on them!!! We have idk 20 time more testosterone running through our system then you women!! Anyway, Desi Auto keep up the great work! read more

I visited here today for maintenance of my car and it was my second visit. I replaced my brake pad a few months ago. He is very kind and honest person. I feel that he explains the status of my car very honestly and he doesn't overcharge. The price is very reasonable. For me, it was always cheaper than any other auto shops. I trust him and I'll definitely revisit this place when I need the maintenance of my car. read more

Definitely my favorite mechanic shop. Great service and great prices! I highly recommend checking out this shop before going to anyone else.

I highly recommend Desi Auto Repair. I also found them on Group - 3 oil changes for the price of one - WOW!! Not only did they do my oil change, but they topped off all of my fluid as well. There customer service is outstanding! They stayed late on a Friday night for me to change my oil before i went out of town because they knew i needed it after coming back for my second time. They service is amazing. they are clean, caring and friendly. Also, he informed I had oil leaks which i was aware and did not push me to get it fixed, but just wanted to let me know. When i am ready to get it fixed i will definitely come to Desi!! I highly recommend this place, they are outstanding. read more
