We emailed a warranty service request 8 days ago and no one has contacted us. We bought a home from Desert View 9 months ago.

We purchased our home from Edward Homes in El Paso in October 2022. From the start, the kitchen and…read morebathroom cabinets were installed poorly--doors and drawers misaligned, gaps between panels, and obvious workmanship defects. During the one-year warranty period we contacted Edward Homes many times, by phone and email, to have the issues corrected. They rarely returned calls, missed scheduled appointments, and when subcontractors finally came out, they offered only superficial fixes. One subcontractor even handed us a can of paint and told us to "touch it up ourselves," rather than repairing the underlying problems. Three years later the cabinets remain uneven and cheaply finished, exactly as they were when we moved in. We followed all warranty procedures and have detailed records of our attempts to get proper service. Homebuyers deserve better follow-through and professionalism. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Edward Homes to anyone expecting quality workmanship or reliable warranty support.

CareFree Homes - They thought this wiring would work maybe they thought it was a wireless connection or maybe they were just too lazy to do their job.

I'm currently awaiting a law suit with them here in El Paso, Tx and from what I know I am not the only victim of this corrupt housing agency. CarefreeHomes does an amazing job living up to the name. lazy, lack lustered building with no care in trying to make a situation right. We had heard…read morehorror stories of other builders taking up to two years to build and raising their prices mid-construction - Pointe did not do that to us. They finished our house in 7 months and they honored the agreed upon price, and didn't try to nickel & dime us for things. In fact, when we went to the color selection, the girl helping us would say to us "The builder is going to upgrade this for you" "the builder is going to include this for you" "The builder wants to give you this"...we were so shocked and amazed at all the things he was doing in our favor. The foreman on-site, Richie, was very helpful and always went out of his way to answer our questions and fix little things that we would see on the spot. The owner, Mr. Villalobos, was so friendly and humble and very approachable; and the staff is just amazing. Our house is the Lail Modern Prairie floor plan.

This has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. Once the shower floor tile was removed, it became obvious why the failure happened the base underneath was mostly sand mix with very little concrete and was crumbling apart. The shower walls showed similar issues and now also need repairs. A shower in a newer home should not be falling apart this quickly. Homeowners work hard for their money and should not have to deal with major bathroom reconstruction only a few years after moving into a new build. We expected quality workmanship and durability, but unfortunately that was not our experience. I hope this review encourages this builder, Pointe Homes, to improve their construction standards and quality control moving forward.

Caps on our great room chandelier were left dangling from the chains when they should've been secured to the cedar beam. According to the painter, the builder (you) said it was because it was missing screws. It wasn't. That was fixed 3 weeks after we moved in and only after we said we'd call the owner himself if that's what it took to fix it. 2. The glass door to our wine room was missing. It's taken 8 visits and it is still NOT done. 3. Missing one oven in kitchen. Was installed 1 week AFTER closing. 4. Pantry doors missing. Was just completed last Friday and only after 8 visits and them having to redo the doors completely. 5. Scratched appliances. Your subs damaged our range as they were moving and installing it in multiple places. The door was replaced a week and a half ago and the trim still hasn't been replaced. 6. Dents and scratches in microwave. Was replaced/fixed a week AFTER closing. 7. Master carpet was glued down instead of stretched properly. Completed 2 AFTER closing. 8. Cabinet hardware missing in the studio. Completed 2 weeks AFTER closing. 9. Missing towel bar in secondary bath. Completed 2 weeks AFTER closing. 10. Towel bar not properly installed in master bath. Completed 2 weeks AFTER closing. As anyone can see, there was much more than 2 things that were on our punchlist. Their PM knew about it but probably didn't reveal those things just like he wasn't willing to give us a survey unless we promised to recommend them. We weren't satisfied with the condition of our home. We were forced to move in because we had thousands of dollars tied into mover's and move out fees from our apartment. We actually postponed closing 2 days because all of these things were outstanding on the first closing date. In fact, we were so disgusted with the PM and the state of our home that we told them to forgo any pomp and circumstance that the company usually does because it was all a farce. The VP and PM told us that two employees I referred to in my original review were fired, one left because she moved out of town, and the other left to take a job with another builder; that's 4 of 7 employees we dealt with. The remaining three are still at the company. so their explanation that the pandemic was the reason why is false. The company still fails to accept that the level to which they claim to treat all of their customers was not met. We STILL have outstanding issues in our home and instead of accepting responsibility and doing the right thing they continue to make excuses. The fact that reply is filled with mistruths proves even further that they only care about looking good on paper and not in practice.
