Went out last week with a group, they had suggested Culinary Dropout. I will admit, at first I was…read moreskeptical, and since we have one here in Dallas I was somewhat perturbed, wanting to try something esoteric in the greater Phoenix area. All my concerns were quickly subdued as we were seated in the enclosed patio. I sampled some of their house beers right away to counteract the 106 degree outdoor temperature. The service was stellar and extremely expeditious considering the number of patrons there. We ordered the nachos & hot wings for starters, both of which were excellent and garnished beyond what I would expect for this kind of restaurant. Somebody in the group immediately recommended the Turkey Pastrami sandwich, so I went with it, and very glad that I did. It was sort of chopped up to improve texture, and while I feared it might be dry, it wasn't, loaded with a well made coleslaw to keep things moist. Overall, this is a very respectable place for drinks or semi affordable meal in the vein of Rock N' Brews, 54th Street etc, just executed better.

It's spacious, open, airy, and has a really fun energy that makes it perfect for Mother's Day, Father's Day, or any family brunch. There's plenty of outdoor seating and games near the cornhole area, which gave the kids room to run around and play while the parents could actually relax and enjoy their meal. Service was very good throughout the visit, and the food came out surprisingly fast considering how busy they were for the holiday. Food-wise, I'd put it around a solid 3.5-4 out of 5. My vegetarian wife really enjoyed the breakfast bowl, which was a great option for her. My son and I both ordered the breakfast burrito, and we also shared the French toast for dessert. Everything was presented beautifully, but the burrito leaned a little heavy on the carbs and could have used more eggs and sausage. The French toast tasted good, but it was slightly dry and would have benefited from real maple syrup instead of just the drizzle they provide. Overall, though, we had a really enjoyable experience. Great atmosphere, family-friendly setup, solid service, and good brunch options. Definitely a place I'd recommend if you're looking for a fun brunch spot.

The Kiwi To Life Is Happiness drink is one of my favorites of all time (I like sweeter drinks). The Always Sunny in Arizona is also good if you like coconut/pina coladas. My boyfriend gets The Phoenix every time and loves it (he likes tequila). Disclaimer I have never had the food but it looks delicious!

I waited about 12 minutes to be seated, even though no one was ahead of me, while two people who arrived after me were seated first. Once at my table, my server walked past me three times without acknowledgment; it took nearly 8 minutes to get water. When my food came out, I noticed my white toast had been swapped for some odd-looking wheat bread with no explanation. I only found out they didn't carry white toast by asking. No manager stopped by, and communication from the front-of-house staff was nearly nonexistent from start to finish. The one bright spot was that the food itself was genuinely good. Visit 2 (Next Day): A completely different experience. The restaurant was actually busier, yet the hostess was immediately attentive and got me seated without delay. My server, Josh, came right over, was personable, and proactively let me know they don't carry white toast, offering sourdough as an alternative without me having to ask. I also had the chance to chat with Erin, the banquet manager, who brought a warm and welcoming energy to the floor. That kind of manager presence was completely absent on day one and made a noticeable difference. Bottom line: The kitchen is solid, both visits confirmed that. But the guest experience here can vary wildly depending on who's working. When the team is on, this place shines. Here's hoping Visit 2 is the new standard.
