With being 7 months pregnant I have experienced some lower back, hip, and pelvic pain that I needed help with . I've been coming here for about a month now, and after my scan and several adjustments I have seen a lot of improvement in my mobility and I am able to do stuff around the house for a longer period of time. I am almost age 78, and I have used a Chiro for many decades for painful neck tightness, first from a traditional yank and thrust, but for about the last five years, just as, or more effective is one using the activator method of Desert Valley. It is incredible how it works without the sharp twists of the common violent twisting way. I used to combine it with very deep muscle massage, but now I only need the activator when feeling tight. After myself and my family going here for 10 years, the last thing I expected was to be informed today that Katherine wouldn't bother to mask for the 5 minutes it would have taken to get my 12 year old daughter out of pain. Unfortunately they only just approved the Covid vaccine for my daughter's age group 3 days ago, and she's high risk: neither of which are her fault. The lack of willingness to protect a child Katherine has known since she was 2 years old is painful. My daughter has literally not known any other Chiropractor than Katherine and Dave. They're great chiropractors, and as long as you know going in that they no longer care about Covid precautions, they may still be worth it for you. We won't be back after this, nor will we be sending any further referrals. Update: Thank you for the response. We have been into the office intermittently this whole time. At the door is not the place to find out about a change: it's on the phone when one calls to book the appointment, especially when the change was made the same week. There was no disclosure of safety protocols still being taken. All I received was a frazzled and aggressive refusal to disclose vaccination status (which I hadn't even asked for). It seems Katherine was well aware the mask free recommendations were for vaccinated individuals only, and was more than happy to argue her right to be unmasked without disclosing vaccination status instead of disclosing the information below. I've been to chiropractors before for adjustments due to chronic back pain, but this is the first location I've been to that uses solely the activator method. In the market for a new chiropractor at 18 weeks pregnant I decided to give this place a try. I have a horrible back due to previous car accidents and when I'm pregnant my back pain is excruciating. Following wha I can only describe as a traumatic experience at 'The Joint' @ 3rd St/Bell (where I thankfully did NOT get treatment) - I was able to meet with Dr. Katherine and I cannot say enough good things about her and her staff. I really love going to desert valley chiropractic. Over the last few years I have battled multiple chronic illnesses and really struggled. These are the only chiropractors I trust. They use the activator method so there is a gentle realignment of the system rather than the twisting and popping you would get at other practices. Plus, they are very concerned with the health of your whole system and will answer and all questions you may have or volunteer information you may need, without trying to sell you products. If you need help finding a quality product they will help you find one, but they do not ever push products. PS - have moved about 35 minutes drive away from their office and I still drive to see them since they are one of only three offices (last I looked) fully trained and certified in the activator method. As a former Chiropractic Assistant, am very picky about selecting a chiropractor. I prefer that an adjuster tool be used instead of manual manipulations. Due to a painful, severe back and hip misalignment, I sought help at Desert Valley Chiropractic. The cheerful folks there are professional, personable, and knowledgeable. Dr Katherine and her husband David have treat me well, I came here after someone ran a stop sign and t boned my car causing me neck and back pain, they use a activator / punch like tool to align my mis aligned bones and educate me about the injuries I took on. I visited for the first time last week because I had horrible nerve pain in my leg (we think from my sciatic nerve being pinched). Dr. Katherine recommended I come back 3 times per week for the next couple of weeks, and after 2 visits I was already almost completely pain free.
