Dr. Blankenbaker is excellent - a true healer and a brilliant clinician. I had undergone back surgery in the past, and as an MD, I thought I was being given good advice, but the reality is it did more harm than good. Despite that, Dr. B has helped me get stronger and have less pain in both my back and neck. I wish I had known him prior to having any surgery, as I would be that much better. I DROVE FROM WA STATE- yes Dr and office is that amazing . Long story short I have a disc issue that doctors have been throwing medicine at me for years . I'm not always so quick to write reviews but I had to come write one after my experience with Dr. B. I've been dealing with chronic neck pain for 1-2 years and never did anything about it. I always had the "it'll heal itself" mindset. It never healed itself. I finally decided to do something about it! After reading tons of reviews about Spine & Disc, I felt comfortable enough to go see him. I'm not a big fan of traditional doctors and medicine, as I always feel like it's a money grab and my problems don't get solved. This was the complete opposite experience! First off meeting with Dr. B was great, almost immediately he had a hunch of what was wrong in my neck. He sent me down the street to get x-rays and told me to come back immediately after to review them together, what a quick turnaround time! After looking at the x-rays together, he confirmed what he thought was the case and came up with a quick action plan to help me get better. In that same day on the first visit, he did a few exercises to loosen my neck then used the Y strap on my neck as I had a subluxated C1 vertebrae. Almost immediately the tension and pressure in my neck that I had been feeling for close to two years was gone. I have a range of motion that I didn't have and I woke up today, the following day, feeling amazing. I had almost gotten to a point where I just accepted this was life moving forward, but now I have a renewed energy and happiness because I no longer am dealing with constant chronic neck pain. Dr. Blankenbaker and Emily really care about their patients and helping them heal. I have found the VAX-D to be so valuable to healing my spine, as well as adjustments. Other chiropractors just adjust you mainly and send you on your way, but Dr. B has other modalities to help heal. Spine and Disc. No reason to go anywhere else! 2nd time I've had a serious back issue and Dr. Blankenbaker got me back my feet in short order. I can't thank him and Emily enough. Their high level of care and professionalism is something I feel is just not found these days. In the past, I've been to other chiropractors and my primary physician for recurring sciatica and had little to no success. My most recent back issue came about lifting a very heavy object which resulted in ruptured disk (L5). MRI confirmed it. I could barely move and had a trip planned overseas the same week of my injury. Went to my local doctor who prescribed pills and an epidural which I considered given the short amount of time and considered cancelling my trip. I have gone to chiropractors for years, in large part for my neck. It just seemed to be a vicious cycle - chiro adjustment - pain - chiro adjustment - so I was open to finding something more long lasting. And I found it! Dr. Blankenbaker uses traction (it's not at all as scary as it sounds) to release the tension in my neck and back and realign my spine. I have found it lasts far longer than the adjustments I was getting from other doctors. It's not a permanent solution for me, but it has worked quite well to relieve my pain and offers more stability than the quick adjustments have. Please know, he does offer adjustments as well, but for me, I'm benefitting from the traction. Plus, Dr. B's and Emily's caring and patient demeanor is wonderful. read more

Wow! 100 stars please. I don't know where to start. I lost contact with my first Chiropractor years ago and have not found one worthy until now. Tom is not your typical "Chiropractor" that you would see on tv trying to get rich off your insurance, nor is he a franchise. It's just him and his wife, Emily ( I believe that's her name because I have the attention span of a gnat ). Anyway, he is a true Healer. I called yesterday from the number off his site, they accept walk-ins, so i showed up today at 8 am when they open, and he gave me the initial consult. Shortly after, his wife came in to ask more details about my health and habits, then we got started. First, Tom asked me what time I had to leave so he could do what he needed to do in that time frame which was awesome in itself, then as he put me on his state of the art equipment for decompressing my neck and back (you really need to see him for this alone!!! I'm not kidding) He would come back and check up on me and get into regular conversation. After that amazing experience, he adjusted me the way I described how my first Chiropractor used to adjust me (which shows Tom has awesome listening skills). I felt like a million bucks after seeing him, he and his wife never once tried selling me a "Wellness Plan", and I will go back once a week every week as long as he'll see me to strengthen my back. I only live a mile and a half for his place, but I would drive 100 miles. Now, here's where the magic happened... Dr Thomas Blankenbaker, here forward known as Dr B, had come into my life when I was the most desperate and injured beyond repair. Cervical: 2 bulges along with 3 herniations, 1 thoracic herniation a shoulder injury and an elbow injury. I was seeing other doctors that "couldn't or wouldn't "acknowledge the amount of pain I was in and failed to diagnose any symptoms. So now my PCP gives me anti-depressants, you're out there folks and you know what I am talking about. I could not find anyone who would understand or assist me and then I found Dr B. He immediately knew what symptoms were caused by what and then some and immediately got to work fixing the pain. His experience, vast knowledge of the body and compassion were endless. He writes extremely detailed reports, which are needed when you are in an accident. He is the doctor whom I call my doctor because he gets things done and understands PAIN! When you see him his reports are done the following day...yes, the following day and if you need anything or need another doctor for something he will find you one. He conducts cervical, thoracic and lumbar traction, Med X, adjustments, a buzzing instrument is also used for your back to get the blood flowing (don't know the formal name) and then relaxes you with a warm water bed that feels like heaven. He is all seeing and all knowing and has been the best doctor and truly cares about his patients, that's right, every single one of them gets HIS time and attention. He has over 40yrs of experience in his field and has not missed an opportunity to stay up to date. I am still looking for a doctor of this caliber in other aspects of my care but there are none, enough said. I have been a patient of his since March of 2017 and he came right in time. His wife Emily also works in the office and if you call you will get either he or his wife on the phone and if you need something, they do it NOW, not in 2 weeks.
