Dr. Guarino's treatment rates 5 stars. But, the receptionist at office in January rates less than 1 star. On my first visit she made me aware that I would have to pay before treatment even though I was recommended by UHC that Dr. Guarino was apreffered provider. I paid out of pocket for the first four visits and after the fifth I asked the desk how would be reimbursed after the insurance company did pay, which UHC did.. She told me that UHC had not paid them in five years and she didn't anticpate that ever happening. I checked my account at UHC online later that day, and lo and behold they had paid the acceptable amount for the first three visits and the four was being reviewed. I stopped going to this facility after seeing this, and waited until now to verify that UHC had paid for all five visits which they had. The office has made no attempt to correct their error. read more

This office is very nice. The owner is very professional and he's even in charge of what other chiropractors can & cannot do because he is currently serving on the AZBOCE, aka the AZ Chiropractic Board of Examiners. I met Dr Guarino about 20 years ago when we both went through the f i a m a program which is a fellowship in the international academy of medical acupuncture and we both shared the same teacher who is Doctor amaro and we both appreciate what we learned there and that our Chiropractic board can grant us a permission slip to practice Chiropractic but more importantly that it can allow us to practice acupuncture without being an acupuncturist because we take a postgraduate course that's only available to people who are already doctors and don't need the basic education that acupuncturers have to get cuz they come in not knowing any of that. Anyway doctor guarino has treated patients for many years just like I have and his reputation is pretty impeccable and mine is too except for a few people who have tried to ding me by making false accusations because the result financial results of their personal injury claims did not go the way they wanted them to I've been punished by that process several times maybe three over the last 30 years. read more

I had a severe case of sciatica and lower back pain when I was referred to Dr. Guarino. The best decision I ever made was seeing him. He is extremely knowledgeable and was able to ease the pain I was experiencing with different techniques while explaining to me what was causing the pain. I can't thank him enough. On a funny note, my wife thought he was a Celebrity Dr. Look up the name, Dax Shepard and compare his pic with Dr Guarino - uncanny resemblance. We now call him Dr Shepard.. Hahaha. I have never been adjusted before. I was able to walk in with no wait and was promptly helped by the lady at the front desk. She reviewed my information with me and explained how the billing would work with my insurance. Dr. G. kindly introduced himself to me and took me back to get a better understanding of my concerns. He listened attentively and made me feel very comfortable that he understood the reason for my visit. He thoroughly explained everything he was doing before and while he was doing it. I felt no pain, and the adjustment felt very gentle yet firm. He discussed a follow-up plan and as I continued to come in I definitely felt that the problem was resolved. Dr. Guarino is fantastic chiropractor. As this was my first visit to a chiropractor, I was unsure of what to expect. He is very attentive to my needs and personable. The treatment rooms were comfortable and clean. His approach to my problem enabled me to get back to work the next day. Over the course of several treatments, the pain has dissappeared and i am feeling great. I appreciate that his office is open in the evening and on Saturday. The receptionist was exceptionally helpful in dealing with the insurance company and made the paperwork a breeze. I've recently have had low back tightness and pain. I have gone to a different chiropractor beforehand. I wasn't satisfied with how little they spent time one trying to adjust my problem, it was more of just a crack and go for them. However when I went to Dr. Guarino, he spent more than enough time evaluating me and diagnosing a problem. Within 2 appointments in 2 days I already feel a major improvement. I take my whole family to Dr. Guarino. Throughout the years he has helped us recover from acute issues like whiplash, sports injuries, headaches, and sciatica flare ups as well as day to day stiffness and pain. I always leave his office better able to move my neck than when I went in, even if I didn't realize it hurt. You can tell he cares about his patients and knows how best to help them with whatever their issue. I can't say nor say enough about Dr G. I have had lower back problems since I was 18 and dumb (enough said). I have been to numerous chiropractors in my life and have experienced everything from hanging a 10 lb ball off my head while sitting in a chair to being strapped to some machine while turning around in circles. I injured my back one Saturday and the chiropractor that I was seeing at the time was closed. I needed help then and now as I could hardly walk. I found Backpro and on 16th and bell rd (at that time). I didn't care, I needed help and Dr G said come in immediately. I was on my way. The rest is history. I will never go anywhere else. Dr G truly cares about your health and spine. He's not in it for the money. Trust me, if you are looking for a great chiropractor, call Dr G. He WILL NOT disappoint you. I am a larger guy (6'3" 210lbs) and did not see my condition improve after visiting this place. It also cost a tad bit more than what I'm used too relative to other places. I was able to book a same day appt which was nice. I called and gave my insurance info to lady at front desk. I asked her a ballpark figure of what the visit would cost...she said she couldn't tell me until I came in. After waiting 45 minutes I saw the chiropractor who asked me some questions and gave some advice (probably the best part of my visit). He then took me to another room and used the muscle stimulator on me for ten minutes. After then he attempted to adjust me. He was not able to adjust my lower back, upper back, and could only get my neck to adjust on one side. Seemed like maybe he wasn't strong enough or just didn't try? Again I've never had this problem and I go quite often to a chiropractor. I've been to a couple different chiropractors before and this has never been the case. After I was finished the lady at the front desk advised me my visit would be $80 with my insurance card...(usually pay $40-$50 per visit in the past and actually get adjusted). 3 days later and I feel worse than before, unfortunately. Will not be returning. I specifically would not advise larger/taller males and females. Hopefully this helps. read more

I have severe lower back pain I called a few chiropractors in my area that could not get me in the hours here are perfect for people on a busy schedule with Saturday hours I didn't have to wait all weekend with severe back pain. Dr. Guarino has been working on my back for several months and it's been great. I have a herniated disc and have had back problems for years. He's done a great job stretching me and treating my back. He takes the time to talk with me and I like the fact that I feel we are friends and he cares about my well being. He knows my history and helps give me ideas about my workouts. Best Chiropractor in the business in my opinion. I saw Dr. Guarino when I was in highschool but started bringing my daughter that had colic to him starting at 9 weeks of age. He changed her life and in turn ours. After 2 adjustments we saw an unbelievable amount of improvement in her colic episodes. We now take her when she's abnormally gassy, spitting up a lot or having trouble sleeping. Works like a charm...every time! I tell everyone with a baby to go see him and I will take any future kids to him! He's great and genuinely cares about the wellbeing of his patients. read more

As a chiropractor myself, I am very discerning about who i will let adjust my spine. Since my chiropractor of 18 years moved I searched around the valley for a chiropractor I can trust and has the skill set I was looking for. I went to 3 other chiropractors before I found Dr. G. I hurt myself taking care of my patients and Dr. G got me back on my feet quickly. I was in tremendous pain and I could not sit/stand or bend with out severe pain in my back and radiating into my leg. After the first 2 treatments I was at least 50% better and about a week later 90% better. He got me back on my feet so that I could return to help my patients. I came in after having been to the ER and several specialists over several years who could not determine the source of my pain and Dr. Guarino was able to pinpoint the issue and create a treatment plan in just one visit.
