Stopped by Desert Sun to inquire about the new red light infrared technology that helps with anti aging. Signed up for the platinum package membership with Lauren for 3 months. She was very helpful at explaining the many benefits of this light therapy as it pertains to improving the health of your body. I have stopped in about every other day so far and can tell my body seems less stressed and my back aches less. I am looking forward to further treatments in the wellness pod. read more

Been coming here for 8 years now. Over the years there has been some bad customer service from the workers but they don't last long. Beds are clean and run great. They offer other services like spray tan and red light therapy. I highly advice make an appointment and be on time! read more

This place is great! They have AMAZING customer service and really took the time to answer all my questions. When I first got there I explained I had never been tanning before and they gave me a detailed tour explaining all their tanning beds and spa services. After the tour they explained the importance of tanning lotion and helped me pick one out without pushing the most expensive product on me. I HIGHLY recommend this location to anyone looking to start tanning, they value their customers and aren't overly aggressive with upselling. read more

Now, I am a novice to tanning beds, but I had a great time! I showed up and explained that this was my first session, the young woman working in the front was so kind and experienced with beginners and showed me around the salon and explained each machine and room. She then did not pressure me to buy things I did not want. She did offer their packages, but I simply explained that I would wait to see how my first tanning session went before I decided. They have free tanning stickers, and they offer sicker type eye protection for .75 if you don't have any. I tried a packet of lotion and I really appreciate that I didn't have to buy a whole bottle. Overall my first experience went great, I wish I had gotten the name of the woman that helped me, but she was younger, had long brown hair and some piercings on her face. Thanks again! read more

I've gone here a couple of times. Since I'm already pretty tan, I like a little extra color throughout the year so I tan at least once a month if even that much. I don't need a package, or any extra frills so it helps that they don't always try to oversell me. They are super friendly on the phone and the beds are really clean. I like the facility and everything they have to offe and the staff is very knowledgeable. The only con I have is that you have to make an appointment for the tanning beds. The other Desert Sun Tanning salons generally do not need to have reservations made. Overall new updated beds, clean environment, and overall enjoyable tanning experience. read more

I have been let down over the past few years when checking in periodically for sales, specials, or prices to go down. They never do. The girls always seem judgmental and to be the high-maintenance type. Depending on what persona you fit into will be how they choose to respect you or answer your questions. Also depending on how busy they are. They're always pushing for you to get the bigger better package, buy lotions, ect. They're busy during the day. The beds don't get wiped too well when this happens. When I was a member I found questionable hairs in my "clean" bed that definitely weren't mine. Overall, there's a better salon down the road with great customer service that does a one time purchase point system that never expire with no sign up fee ,VS Desert Sun who charges an outrageous monthly amount and a sign up fee no matter how much you can or can't use your tans. This place has gone WAY down hill! There are hardly ever appointments available which you must make unless you want to be turned away or wait a good hour - Oh and if you are lucky enough to get an appointment when you call ahead be prepared to wait at good 10-15 minutes for your bed when you come in. Some of the staff can be very rude, and are obviously overwhelmed. The medium bed I used was old and needed service - buttons missing, etc. The room was dirty, lotion on the wall, full trash can, finger prints on the bed handles, etc... Not trying to sound whiney but when I pay a good $50 a month to tan here, I expect it to be better than that.. The silverdale Desert Sun was WAY WAY better, can't wait for the new one to open!! I'm not sure what's all changed since the other reviewers, but I've been tanning here for the last month (groupon) and I've never waited for a bed, nor have I had to make an appointment. In fact, it tends to be dead quiet here, like I'm the only one person tanning on site. It's always easy to get a parking spot, and pretty easy to walk in and get a bed right away (barring computer troubles). My only complaints are limited sunday hours (one of my rare days off), verrry limited radio stations available to listen to, and overpriced tanning lotion. Oh and the suspicious emptiness; I'm going to give beaches tanning a try for comparison. This place does have great tanning packages for black friday tho (40% off for the year) so if it's that season, be sure you're on their emailing list in time to see those offers. read more

I think this company suffers because of the poor customer service. I have tried two different locations and both times I waited a long time and the staff was rude. I even waited one time while a staff member went to smoke a cigarette. I think the beds are just mediocre. Will not return. read more

Desert sun is such a joke ! I wouldnt recommend this tanning salon to NO ONE ! All the girls that work there are brain dead ! Their not helpful ! And most of the time there to lazy chit chatting that they never clean the beds ! I used to go to desert sun in silverdale , but then it burnt down , my daughter tryed ending her account , and we THOUGHT it was taken care of, because that is what the desert sun employee told us ! But it wasn't, we kept getting money with drawled from our account , for almost five months straight ! We complained every month ! And even went in to the salon and told them to deactivate the account but obviously there to dumb to figure that out ! They owe us around $150 dollars in tanning fees ! And they are not willing to give Us a refund ! Do not go to desert sun !! I have many more complaints about this salon ! About there start up fees, and how your tans expire within an amount of days, and if you want to stop your account you have to do it by a certain day of the month, this salon screws you ! read more

The staff is nice and the area is very clean, I have a membership, but its really busy and the level 3 beds are always packed... I sugguest to get level two beds there is more of them and always open. read more

I signed up for a spray tan membership yesterday. Jesse, at the front desk, was extremely friendly and helpful, patiently taking her time to explain to me the different levels of beds, lotions and packages. She was the only one staffed, and there were two people behind me. She kindly addressed them, smiling, saying "I'll be with you shortly, thank you so much for waiting," she was cheerful and efficient without rushing me which I really appreciated. While the spray tan was a relatively new experience for me, Jesse taught me how to use the bed and gave me tips on how to avoid orange nail beds and how to 'pat' instead of rub with the towel after the spray was over. I'm happy with the results and look forward to going again in 7-10 days. I'm relieved I've found an alternative to UV tanning that doesn't look fake. read more

I really appreciate the service I get at Desert Sun in Silverdale. The beds are amazing and everyone there knows my name and treats me with respect. Some of the reviews I saw on here were a little nit picky. If you stick with them and tell them about any issues you have they will work hard to fix it. The employees who have helped me the most are Bella and Kristy they are all so kind and helpful and provide excellent customer service. read more

One of my favorite Desert Sun salons to go to! Everyone here is super friendly and there is hardly ever a wait time to get in to a bed.

I love this location and most of the girls that work here. they are always so inviting and smiling. they make me feel welcome and they actually remember my name and make personal conversations with me. the beds are always clean, although sometimes a face bulb might be out. Dorothy, she is amazing. she is SO nice and very easy to work with. Melissa is very sweet, always happy. there is another girl I cant remember her name but either way she is kind too. I think there is only one girl here that sometimes makes me uneasy. she's never rude, but she doesn't smile much and is kind of monotone so I cant always read her. I just let it slide, all in all this is the only location of desert sun I will tan at. read more

My husband and I joined for a month to take the edge off our Washington glow. The staff was wonderful, knowledgable with the products and skin types. We've made appointments and walked in and never had to wait, it was great. We always looked forward to seeing Aubrey, she always made us smile and welcomed us either on the phone or in person. I absolutely have been very pleasantly impressed. My husband and I bought the wrap package from silverdale but wanted to change our time but after being on hold for over 10 min. I hung up and never did get thru again so decided to call Bremerton location. The WOW started there. The girl that helped us was Jamie...amazing! 1st of all got us in when silverdale not only kept me on hold for 10 min but every time I called back went to message is full. Anyway, that sweet Jamie treated us like Gold so willing to help us. The amenities at this location are well over Silverdale. The bed adjusted for your preference and Jamie made sure it was perfect..plus not only free water but a fan for when you get too hot. All I can say is this is an amazing location very clean and by the way Jamie made sure my wrap was tight for the max. Results. Better yet she checked on me every 10-15 minutes to make sure I was doing well...just another thing I did not get from silverdale...this is the location to go to!......oh and the wrap is tight and does not come off like the ones at Silverdale. The only reason this is not a five star is because the first girl I got when I actually went into the salon I think was new, and misinformed...which set me up for disappointment the second time I went in. The VERY first interaction I had was with a gal named Kirsti, I believe? It was over the phone. She helped me chose a membership based on my needs, and gave me recommendations for products, she was super helpful! The first time I went in I had the interaction with a new girl, who was somewhat helpful, but gave me bad advice on how long to tan for, which resulted in a burn that lasted for a couple of days...ouch! The second time I went in I dealt with Aubrey, who from here on out will be my go to gal...she was incredible! I was looking for a new lotion, because what I had was a dual product designed MAINLY for cocktail tans, or when I do the Mystic tan...she got me the hookup and even gave me a discount because I didn't really know what was up with the first one. There's one girl who is always flirting with some dude and on her phone when I go in, but she's still nice. Most of the girls are professional and kind, and are eager to offer recommendations and advice. Overall, I'm very happy with this location and will continue to tan here. Aubrey is probably my fave, she took me in to see the other things this place had to offer like the body wrap service too. She's really great! I've never had to make an appointment or wait for a bed... not sure what is up with the other reviews here...maybe something's changed since then? read more
