Unlike many others I've been to which may or may not leave you feeling sticky... :P ;) Clean and a modern aesthetic. Very calm vibe... music is always great and on a rotation! Country, to Hawaiian reggae, to classic rock and everything in between. Now to the good stuff: The tanning beds are all luxury and KBL. Red light is incredible and definitely works. The staff: the FRIENDLIEST staff . So very very helpful and always willing to go above and beyond! All the girls are total dolls and don't just zone out on their phones but rather engage with customers and make you feel very welcomed. Willing to answer any question too!!! For reference - This is unlike many tanning salons, where the girls are usually distracted, seem bothered when you ask them questions about services, and are generally just kind of rude. NOT HERE! Actually warm and friendly women. Products: honestly... They stock some of the best items for Tanning/red light therapy in the industry and most are top sellers and are all backed up by science and research. Varying degrees of prices for products for everyone's budget. But sometimes... You get what you pay for! Meaning the more expensive tanning lotions are priced such as they are loaded with skincare ingredients, skin, tightening ingredients, etc., etc. (That's just my personal experience and take on things.) I absolutely love this place! It's so calming when you walk in, the name is in the decor. Such lovely shades of greens, blues, creams, and sandy browns elevate the atmosphere. The detail that went into the remodel is absolutely stunning and the equipment is so much better! Everything is more high tech and there are more options for red light therapy! OMG the cocoon though! Instead of the gym, I can relax and get a work out at the same time! This thing is awesome! The music played is always a great mix of classics and modern, or you can plug in your own music. They have the best of the best here! Forget your eyewear? Don't worry, they have disposables. I don't remember desert sun ever having those. There are cute little stickers you can put on in inconspicuous areas to track your progress, or just because they're fun. I put one on my shoulder, as a "temporary tattoo". Their lotions and various products are definitely high quality. My tans come out evenly, without splotchiness and the staff are always helpful! Everyone is so nice and always try to get you the best, cost affective, package to meet your needs. They aren't overbearing sales people and the establishment is always so clean. I'm never worried about the cleanliness of the bed, as I have seen how efficient they are in cleaning them, while I was waiting to pay. I love everyone that works there. The redlight therapy has been amazing for my skin, my relaxation. I love love love the massage chairs. I love the dry heat sauna exercise cocoon and the beauty shaper and the occasional tan. They also have an easy spray tan process that looks really natural, I had never tried one before. I was nervous and they were very kind to show me how it works including doing the poses for me that were on a chart on the wall. I make everything too complicated, they sensed my anxiety and explained any machine I was interested in very well!!!!!!!!! If I end up having to budget out Mani/Pedi's or Beaches, the Mani/Pedi's will have to go for awhile............ :) read more

Nice, clean facility. Nice staff. Quality, clean equipment. I did not give 5-Stars because I don't like the new fee system. It is much more complicated than it needs to be and not customer friendly. If I have to spend more than a minute considering the ins-and-outs of a fee plan, I get the feeling I'm missing something, and therefore spending more than I need to. As a result, I have yet to commit to tanning at this facility. The packages require a $20 "set-up" fee. Then the packages continue monthly. You are charged whether you tan or not. The "membership" continues, month after month, unless you suspend it. If you suspend it, they charge you $5/month to have a suspended membership. If you simply terminate, rather than suspend, that's free, but when/if you come back, say next season/year, yes, you pay the set-up fee again. I don't like this at all. I have to shop around now, because I don't feel comfortable with this fee structure. I understand, from their point of view, it is great, but the lack of flexibility for me as the customer sucks. The former system was very simple: pay for credits that never expire. Buy more at one time, pay less. SIMPLE. Why not just charge more for the points, instead of all these gyrations? I like simple. They have great pricing, clean rooms, packages and the beds are hands down the best. A central location for everyone and the friendliest staff. This is such a nice tanning salon. They have credits that you can buy which never expire. Each bed is a different number of credits ranging from 2 to 7. My favorite bed is an S class 5 credit bed, it has aroma therapy infused in the air during the tanning session, and an option to tan your face 3 minutes after your body tan has finished. I have never had to wait to tan, they have always had a bed available right away. I am a member at another local tanning place that is frequently busy and has problems with their computers. I usually have to wait about 10 minutes when I go there, even if I have made an appointment. Beaches is the opposite, they always have a bed ready and the staff is very friendly. They always ask how the tan was after you're finished and they never seem "too busy" to help. They also provide tanning goggles in case you forgot yours or don't own a pair. They also have monthly options available. The waiting room is very serene with a big screen T.V. , water fall, fish tank,very comfortable couches and a variety of magazines. I think my favorite part is that the credits never expire. You could buy credits and wait a year to use them and they will never be thrown out. This place is so nice!!! I have been going to beaches for years now. I LOVE this salon! The brand new remodel is breathtaking. The new owner completed it himself, and let me tell you he did an incredible job! The girls are the sweetest here, and not pushy at all. They also do an excellent job remembering who you are! They greet me by name everytime I walk in the door, making it a more personable and friendly experience. Best tanning place around! I tried a promotional package where you get 10 days to try any (and all) beds that you want. The matrix was super cool, gave me a great tan and the 2 when you walk in are amazing too, they spray you with mist every couple minutes, definitely worth a try. Let me start by saying Desert Sun is 100% overrated. Don't even bother if you're in Bremerton. My girl found this salon last summer and I was a bit skeptical, being a brand name whore and all. But, I went against it and tried it out. PERFECTION. I paid 50 flat for 2 months of tanning, whatever bed and intensity I wanted INCLUDING tanning lotion, which most of you know is priced pretty damn high. I could go how many times I wanted and do whatever I pleased for those 2 months without breaking my bank. Well priced under my allowance I gave myself to fake bake. I got to the point of using the highest powered beds and they had neon lights in them, aroma therapy, and plenty of space. Great tanning salon! Everytime I go in the there, I never have to wait long. The staff is always nice. The salon is clean and has nice decor. I have tried 3 different beds and the spray tan. All were very nice. They offer package deals via points. I can use the points however I want (no monthly commitment to a specific bed, etc).
