Called this morning for a fix. Martin was here in a few hours (on a Friday). He fixed my oops and serviced my door. He was very nice, good sense of humor and quick. And I couldn't beat the price for service! Thanks for a great experience. I love when my Yelp produces real hard working peeps! Have a wonderful weekend! read more

We had called several companies for an estimate for installing a new motor. We were surprised that this company charged only half of what the other company wanted. He came right on time and did a great job installing it. Now I have a new key fob for opening the garage door, and I can open it from 200 yards away instead of only 5 feet away. read more

Desert Overhead Door - Garage Door Services Near Me - La Quinta, California

Brodie reached out to me and completely resolved the issue I experienced. He was very helpful and professional in fixing the problem. The problem actually was with the manufacturer of my garage opener and their warranty service. It's really nice to work with a business that takes care of its customers. Changing my rating from 1 star to 4 stars!" read more

My garage door stopped working when I was rushing to go out of town. I called Desert Overhead garage door and Monique answered. She walked me through things to do to trouble shoot the problem. She had Martin out within the hour to check it out. He figured it out in minutes. Made an appointment to come back out on Friday when i was back in town. The appointment was 8-10 am and he showed up at 8 am. Motor replaced in an hour. This couldn't have gone better. I highly recommend them and will be using them for garage door maintenance. Thank you Monique and Martin! read more

I never write reviews... seriously. But I needed to write one for these guys. I bought a new house and both of the single car garage door openers weren't working. Got a quote from another local repair service. They said I needed a new door and two new openers. Pretty big quote. Thought I should get a second opinion. Called these guys based on the reviews. Martin showed up on time (which is worth 4 stars alone these days). Was friendly and got right to work. Had both doors fixed and working within an hour or so. No new door. No new openers/motors. One of the openers might be 20+ years old so they could have easily sold me a new opener and didn't. It's becoming more rare to find good, honest service professionals these days. They saved me thousands of dollars. I can't recommend them enough. When the time comes for me to get a new door or opener (or both), they will be my first, and last, call. read more

Put succinctly: these folks are amazing! Period. Look no further. Had an issue with garage door not opening all the way and getting stuck--highly annoying and aggravating. Called them on Friday afternoon and they had someone here on Monday. And wow: the technician Martin was a breath of fresh air. Professional, humorous, and unquestionably talented. And had my issue fixed is just under 10 minutes. Definitely will only be using this company for any garage door issues. read more

Our second try at using this business was a far different and worse experience than the first. I needed to have a broken spring repaired and I also wanted a bid on a new door system. They asked some questions on the phone and said they had the parts needed for the repair in stock. The technician came out to look at it and then said they had to order the parts and would provide a bid. He said he would get back to us in a few days when the parts came in. That was the last I heard from them and that was over three weeks ago. I eventually got tired of waiting and hired another company to do the work. I would not recommend this company. read more

What a great experience - thank you for coming on time and fixing my garage - I highly recommend

We contacted this business at the height of COVID-19. The owner was extremely responsive but careful about having an appointment which I appreciated. We scheduled one for the same day and he gave us his full attention. We didn't feel rushed, he answered every single question, and gave us full disclosure about every product that was introduced. That same day we decided to move forward with one of his offerings. He scheduled delivery and installation exactly one week later which was refreshing because other retailers were telling us that we had to wait 4-8 weeks for delivery. His team arrived and they installed so quickly. The installers were on time, neat and clean, and they cleaned up after themselves. They also took our old garage door with them for disposal. The office team was excellent too. I can't say enough about the positive experience with this company. read more

Very happy with the service I received from this company; especially the gentleman who serviced my garage door and the opener. I called them late on Monday; he called Wednesday morning and showed up before noon. He was pleasant, professional and (IMHO) very trustworthy. He performed a tune-up; inspected everything on my 25 year-old door/opener and suggested that it may last another 25 years...when he could have sold me a new door. Highly impressed. read more

Brodie came out the same afternoon I called to give me a free estimate and got spring and 2 new openers installed for almost 1/2 what another company quoted after $99 estimate. read more

Desert Overhead Door is a stellar company. From the first time in the showroom, the home appt for a consult and then installation- everything was perfect. I appreciate the communication and follow through from DOD. I recommend this business because from start to finish it was easy, clear and a pleasure to purchase a new CHI plank garage door and opener from DOD. Thank you Brodie and crew ! read more

Wow! I'm so happy! I messaged the business late in the day & Monique promptly responded. She asked me a few good questions to get an idea of the possible diagnosis. She was right, all I needed was a little adjustment on the sensors & to get the track tightened. Martin arrived on time the day after my inquiry & performed the service efficiently & professionally. He was very personable...nice personality. I really like friendly, professional, & efficient service. He went above what I called for & oiled up the wheels & coils... Yay! The next day there was something else wrong & the garage door wouldn't open/close. Made the call, they came again & fixed it. Part was inexpensive & I had already paid for the diagnosis the day before... Great deal! I will use them again in the future! You should too! :-) read more

We moved to Coachella Valley this past August and found that our garage door springs needed adjusting. The door was almost too "Heavy" to lift open by hand. The original installer on the door label was no longer in business, so I started my search for a reliable company to do the adjustments...and not buy a new door. My search found me reading the other reviews that Desert Overhead Door had received on Yelp..my go-to source for reviews. I made the appointment over the phone...the office staff was sharp and courteous and took my request with an appointment in two days. On the morning of the appointment, Martin Chavez greeted me (on time and with a big smile) ready to inspect and adjust my overhead door! Martin's sharp eye to detail and depth of knowledge put me at ease. He had my garage door springs adjusted and made an evaluation of the overall health of my door in short time. Being new to the house, I had several questions about the door. Martin was happy to answer these, putting my mind at ease. Would I call on Desert Overhead Door and Martin in the future? Absolutely!I read more

Horrible customer service. After scheduling an appointment for a garage door that wouldn't open or close, a service tech came out, made a few minor adjustments and got it working. He literally spent 5 mins on the door. Unfortunately, the next morning the garage door wouldn't open or close again. I called the company and left a message. No return call. I called again and left a second message. No return call. I called a third time and left another message. NO return call. This company is happy to take your money but doesn't ensure their repairs were adequate, doesn't stand behind their work, and then fails to return numerous calls. I feel ripped off. Worst customer service. This company is a scam. Do NOT use the services of this business. They will take your money and not fix the problem. Thank you Monique for your prompt response. Brodie called me and Martin returned to address the problem. It is now fixed. Hopefully we won't have any more problems. I greatly appreciate your assistance and have modified my rating to 4 stars. read more

We had a small issue with our garage door and were happy to speak to a human being right away. He promised to send someone the next morning. Martin arrived on time and fixed the issue in 10 minutes. A stressful situation that turned into a relaxing one within minutes due to his knowledge, kindness, and professional manner: Obviously this is a great company! read more

Desert Overhead Door did some work for me in 2015 at my old house and I remembered being very happy with their work and customer service. So when I needed their services again I didn't hesitate to call. Once again they came through quickly and at a good price. It turns out they installed all the garage doors for the builder who originally built our housing complex. So they were familiar with the setup since they installed it. By the way, there was no mechanical defect, just an obstruction in the garage that caused the cable to jump the pulley. read more

Desert Overhead Door responded to my urgent call as my garage door came of the rails and I was unable to open to get our cars in or out. Within 3 hours Martine arrived and literally 'rebuilt' the door and it is functioning as new. Martine is a true professional, fast, and obviously very experienced. Desert Overhead Door was friendly, fast and affordable!! I saw their ad on TV and thought I would give them a try. The owner came out for an estimate the next morning and we booked my install a few days later. We had a small issue and they took care of it right away. My new garage door is beautiful, very quiet and works great...also LOVE the weather seal as it keeps dirt out of our garage. The company even called a few days later to check my satisfaction and to make sure all was running smooth. I was very impressed with this company and would recommend their services to anyone looking for garage service or replacement. read more

Garage would not opened called two companies with good yelp reviews. First company went on about how old the system was- estimate $775.00 to replace pull up motor and tune up doors, rollers, etc. Desert overhead came out- replaced broken traveler and provided two new remotes for $210.00. All working well now. The technician was fast and efficient. Would definitely recommend this company to others. read more

I did expect to get a call by lunch. On the message, I explained our garage door was stuck open and we desperately needed help. It's Saturday night and my garage door would only open up about a foot. I called my usual people only to receive an answering service and that I would be called back sometime Monday morning. I looked through Yelp and seeing so many positive reviews decided to call Hanson Overhead. Brody was very helpful and worked with me to be able to get to work Monday morning. He placed me 1st on the service list. Martine showed up shortly after 8am. A really nice guy. Turns out my garage door itself was broken! Instead of leaving me to deal with a unfixed, broken door he secured a metal bar across the area of the door that was bowing and wala, more than a band-aid, giving me the time needing to deal with installing a new one. Above and beyond the call of duty. Thanks Martine! read more
