I called my company's travel agent because I didn't know what to do and had declined the insurance and roadside assistance. The travel agency said to call enterprise so I did. They were so kind and arranged for AAA (which I personally don't have) to come change the tire. The driver and enterprise kept checking in to ensure I was okay. When they arrived they discovered it was just a donut in the trunk but inflated it and put it on the car. I was told not to go over 50 mph. Well that's hard when you have to take the freeway anywhere. So I called enterprise and they immediately reserved me a car 3 miles away and I took backroads to get there. They didn't have any cars available when I arrived. But a lady dropped her car off, the agent working immediately checked it in, cleaned it, and gave it to me. [Price]: I booked an intermediate car (Toyota Corolla or similar) via Costco Travel and the initial quote was approximately $108 for a 9-hour rental. [Process]: Alamo offers an online check-in process. Once completed, I was able to go directly to the car pickup line at the rental car center and skip the self-service kiosks and counter. Alamo is located at the Rental Car Center and our party took the PHX Sky Train to get there. I showed the staff my reservation confirmation and was able to choose any available cars in a specific row. I ended up with a Chevy Malibu. Before driving out of the exit gate, travelers need to show their driver's license and the credit card used to book the car. The return process was very straightforward. I simply parked & a staff member scanned a code on the car - that was it. [Conclusion]: Another smooth experience with Alamo and I am sure I will be using them whenever I need to rent a car again.

We had the absolute worst experience at this Avis location with Freddy…read more I booked and prepaid a reservation for a rental pickup at 11:45 AM on Sunday (they close at noon.) The week prior to pickup we were at the Scottsdale Resort for a business conference. On Sunday morning (9:30 AM) we called this Avis location to see if it was possible to pick up earlier but there was no answer. We left the conference and ubered over but were told our reservation was at 11:45 and we needed to return, so we went back to the conference and at 10:39 AM I got a call that the car was ready for pickup. At this point, we were back at the resort and in session so we figured we'd return at 11:45 as per the original plan. We arrived at 11:50 AM and Freddy handled our reservation. The reservation was under my name so I asked if we could add my husband as the driver- Freddy said it would be $13 a day to add. I questioned it because I remembered reading something that said spouses didn't count, but I wasn't sure and asked if we could change my husband to the main driver since I was not planning on driving. That was a no. Freddy now said if we're married, no charge. He then asked for the credit card used to prepay the reservation and I took out my husband's business card which was the card used to prepay along with both our drivers licenses. Freddy said the CC on the system was different and rattled off some random numbers. We advised it must be a mistake, we have no card with those numbers. He says "I can't rent you the car unless you provide me with this CC." He shows us in the computer and I realize the number he's giving us is the last four of an authorization code NOT our CC. I look for my original confirmation online and show him PROOF that the CC is my husbands business card as originally shown. At this point, he mentions we can't use that card because it's under his name and the card has to match the reservation name which is mine. At this point, it's frustrating. Not only is he not trying to work with us, it's obvious he's pushing us out because it's past twelve. We express frustration and he mentions these are the rules and if you don't like them there's nothing he can do because it's not his fault. He declines us service and says he's calling the police because he feels we're being aggressive. There was a customer in there who chuckled because Freddy very calmly went from Level 1 to Level I'm calling the police and declining service which made zero sense. We needed Freddy to give us a solution not give us excuses on AVIS rules. I immediately get on the phone with AVIS and rebook my own reservation under my husband with his business card with zero help from Freddy, and the police arrives. Clearly it was a ridiculous call and they knew it. We had a witness to vouch no one was being aggressive and we have video recordings to prove it. Police apologized and said he would try to come up with a compromise for us, and they did. At the end of the day, Freddy...who was rushing to leave by noon, incompetently giving us wrong information whether it be adding a driver for extra money, wrong CC numbers, declining service and doing NOTHING to help out the customer ended up leaving closer to 1 PM over the course of his own actions. He called his manager, police communicated with him and the end result was rent us the car and help us out. Our cards all match, our licenses match, there is NO issue. We got the car, but not without some undue aggravation and lots of stories to share about where NOT to go to rent a car in Scottsdale!

Freddy is awful…read more My two aunts - both senior citizens near 80 y/o - arrived in Scottsdale in March for their two-month stay to visit family. Their first stop was Avis to pick up the car that they'd reserved back in January. They encountered Freddy, who was rude, crass, and extremely condescending. He stated he "had no cars" and "couldn't find their contract." My aunts showed him the contract and called Avis coroporate, who verfified the contract. Freddy's response persisted - "I have no cars." He didn't volunteer to assist in solving the problem, apologize, or make amends. "If you don't like it, leave." That was his response. Upon calling Avis corporate again, we were able to get them a car at another Avis location. Beware of Freddy, everyone. This guy has no business in customer service.

The reason? So I wouldn't put a lot of miles on my car. I'm the type who's looking to rent the cheapest car available unless there's a small difference in price for an upgrade. Which means I often make reservations through third parties like Hotwire. Which I did on this occasion. Since I'm not reserving a particular car, sometimes I've been given unfortunate vehicles (like the Kia Soul) and sometimes I've been given nice ones. When I saw that this Enterprise location is a special one, in the sense that they have an exotic car collection, I was hopeful that I would receive something better than a hamster car. Luckily, I did. I received a nice hybrid Toyota Camry. Throughout the duration of my trip, I didn't run into any issues. It was comfortable and had good gas mileage. Pretty much everything you hope for in a rental. The pick up and return processes were smooth. My only real complains is that my rental only had a little over half a gas tank upon pickup. I always appreciate it when my rental has a full tank so I can hit the road and not have to stop for gas anytime soon. Plus, when you pick up a car with a full tank, it's easy to return it with a full tank. It's not as easy to pick up a car with a half tank and return it with a half tank as this is a lot harder to sort out. Which means the agency usually gets some free gas out of you. Outside of this one hiccup, I loved my experience and will rent from here again. Especially because the location isn't far from my place.

Worst Hertz location I've ever experienced…read more The manager, Chris, was extremely unprofessional and rude. When I arrived, he was eating McDonald's at the front counter in front of customers. I had a reservation booked, and when my debit card didn't process, he loudly announced that my card was declining in front of everyone. That was embarrassing and completely unnecessary. When I used a different card, he stopped helping another customer just to yell across the store, "Make sure her name matches the card she's using!" Then when I didn't pass the soft credit check, he announced that loudly as well -- again in front of everyone. He wasn't even the employee assisting me but went out of his way to publicly comment on my situation. Financial matters should be handled privately and respectfully. I felt humiliated and treated terribly. Avoid this location if you value professionalism and basic customer service.

After 3 hours we decided to go to the location to see if she could get her reservation. The man working at the location was visibly annoyed and frustrated with dealing with any customers. When we got our chance to speak with him he prefaced the conversation by stating that they prefer customers to not be present in the waiting area while they are working on fulfilling rental requests because they don't like dealing with customers facial expressions and scoffs when their expectations aren't met. We canceled the reservation and went with a company who doesn't treat you as an inconvenience.

Sintia was a well-oiled, one-woman show last Thursday morning a few minutes before 8am. She was pleasant to every customer and was efficient and worked with urgency without seeming rushed. She went over the details of my rental and did a nice walk around of the vehicle before sending me on my way. When I returned the vehicle yesterday, I had to drop the key with a quick explanation of my hurry to leave and she understood and acknowledged my return. She sent a nice text this morning to let me know everything was complete and my deposit was being refunded. Sintia is a class-act! Thank you!

Ever get to a city and then realize that you need a car. That is exactly what happened to me on…read morethis trip. I got lucky that this location was a few mins away from where I was staying. I went online made a reservation and went to pick up my car the next morning. It was convenient that they opened early in the morning. When I got there there was only one other person in there renting a car but I was able to get service right away. The employees had fantastic attitudes, they were solution oriented, and they really focused on giving you great service. I was in and out of there in 10 mins to pick up the car. They even gave me an upgrade becuse the car that I had chosen online was not available. Then on the way to return the car, it was just as effortless. Right when I pulled up one of the employees came outside, asked me a few questions, checked the car, charged my car and I was done in less than 5 mins. It took me longer to wait for a uber to take me to the airport than it did to turn the car in. Great customer service, and it was quick and efficient.

The only issue the 2nd time, was the car had been washed and left to air dry so there were hard water stains on the windows which made it a bit hard to see, but just wiped them down at a nearby gas station. Will definitely use Dollar again when I am back in Pheonix.
