I have rented so many cars from Hertz, here and internationally, that they up and gave me Platinum Status. It took 25+ years and tens upon tens of thousands off dollars , but its an awesome perk. In my experience, the customer service at this location is THE BEST I have EVER experienced in renting a vehicle. Hands down, THE BEST. I can't even begin to imagine how unfortunate it would be if someone had an accident or needed emergency service while renting a car and couldn't get ahold of the company. After 3 hours we decided to go to the location to see if she could get her reservation. The man working at the location was visibly annoyed and frustrated with dealing with any customers. When we got our chance to speak with him he prefaced the conversation by stating that they prefer customers to not be present in the waiting area while they are working on fulfilling rental requests because they don't like dealing with customers facial expressions and scoffs when their expectations aren't met. We canceled the reservation and went with a company who doesn't treat you as an inconvenience.

"Stuff Happens' and they figure it out. And seriously, we usually end up laughing about it later. The other 99% of the time, everything goes smoothly. It's a convenient location within walking distance of my home but their vehicle selection is very…read morelimited and the lone service agent behind the counter is overworked (answering phones, checking people out, etc.) He was friendly and doing the best he could I'm sure, but I had to wait about 10 minutes both visits to be helped. I made a reservation for a Ford Escape type of SUV (30mpg highway) but was "upgraded" to a Jeep Grand Cherokee (supposedly 26mpg highway but I got less). Not a big deal but I was renting this for a road trip and would've preferred the more efficient vehicle. The Jeep had some rubbish in the center console, fingerprints galore on interior bits and driver's door, and the windshield needed cleaning. Returning the car two days later was quick and easy (I was met by a service agent outside who took the keys and wished me well). Nice. But unfortunately this led to frustration later. Even though I returned the car at 10:55am he didn't process it until 11:11am. Combined with the fact I picked up the rental somewhat early of my 11:00am reservation I was charged a $56.48 overage fee. They also tacked on a $15.00 fuel charge even though I brimmed the tank right before returning the car (you need to show a receipt for fuel if they don't think you've driven enough miles). Given their "nickel and diming" I'll be looking elsewhere next time I need a rental. The Enterprise at Scottsdale Road and Mayo Boulevard is great and I've also had a good experience at Sixt Rent A Car.

He actually said "if you cancel, Budget will keep all of your money" Telling me there would be no chance of a refund on a two week rental if I canceled it. Called budget and they canceled the reservation and did a refund. The guy was more worried about me falling for his upselling bullshit than he was about having a customer. I'll never use them again.

Rachel at this location is horrible. After a nightmare experience I highly recommend avoiding this…read morelocation for any rental services. Rachel runs this location with a "my husband is the owner so good luck complaining" attitude and throws her ego as power. Avis customer service was no help with their own system or process and continued to tell me they couldn't help. I spent over 3 hours trying to secure a rental from this location to then be told by Rachel that we aren't a good fit and she can't help us either. 35 minute drive each way to get here and worst experience ever. Also got told they had 30 reservations with only 5 cars available so if you make your reservation, do it with caution your on a list that they don't call right away or have and system pending wait list actions to leave you with no car. Most in that list still don't know they don't get a car with their reservation.
