I ended up working with them to get the rating done. Jonathan, the head of the flight school, was the CFI I'd be working with. I'm so glad I did. He was able to teach to my learning style and we worked really well together. We met early and stayed late to get me ready for the check-ride. Coming from northern California, I booked out a week to accomplish the task. Unfortunately, the DA-42 Twin Star broke. A broken fuel injector in one of the engines made it impossible to train in the limited time frame. I had to leave and come back. On my second trip back, the night before the check-ride, I got news of a friends passing in an aviation incident. Thanks to Jonathan's prep, the following day, I was able to pass the oral portion of the check-ride with flying colors and discontinued on the flying portion. I re-booked for a return visit. Upon coming out, the aircraft had an other issue during one of our flights. Sawyer's in house mechanics both times went above and beyond to get the aircraft back in service but the parts needed to be special ordered from Europe. Being in aviation and an aircraft owner, things like this just happen no matter how well an aircraft is maintained. Throughout this process, I was able to witness a side of aviation that most don't get to see. Sawyer's maintenance team rocks and worked their butt off to make sure things are tip top. Even though I wasn't able to finish my multi-engine commercial add on at Sawyer, they did take care of me. Jonathan built a foundation for me to finish a few months later back in northern California and I earned my ratings. I wouldn't hesitate recommending Sawyer Flight academy because not only did they treat me well, they training I received was top notch.

We were disabled on the runway and their ramp team, under the leadership of Greg, was extremely helpful. Never once was safety compromised while they coordinated with airfield operations to secure and tug our disabled aircraft off the runway. Once safely off the runway, they assisted us in finding a maintenance company and the right parts to get airborne again. We were back flying within five hours of the incident! This never happens. It was a great experience, my husband had a lot of opportunity to fly the Cessna 172 G1000. I recommend extending the flight to one hour which allowed time to fly over the beautiful lakes. Our instructor, Travis Graham was amazing. I highly recommend the introductory experience for anyone interested in flying. I scheduled back surgery and my Cirrus SR22 was going to be parked for a couple of months. Carter asked me when I parked it before surgery if I had any tie-downs. I said I didn't have any with me but it should be fine. He was thinking about monsoon season. He said that he needed some tie-downs and had been meaning to buy some so he said he was going to buy some, tie my aircraft down and then he'd have the tie-downs he wanted when I returned. I couldn't believe he was offering this. I went back about 3 weeks after surgery just to start it up and sure enough Carter had the aircraft completely tied-down! Amazing. I can't say enough about the people. Nancy is also amazing and cares so much. It is truly great to walk in and get the incredible welcome I get when I arrive. I love this place. Being a Sunday, I figured nothing was open, but when I spoke to the front desk they were happy to hold the airplane key and leave a note for Ron, the head of maintenance to look at in the morning. I called on Monday morning to confirm and Ron said they would look at it in the next couple of hours. Before noon he called to say it was all fixed and back where I had parked it. It turned out to be a broken wire, so no additional parts were needed. I was very happy with their attitude, there willingness to work on it immediately, and the cost to repair. I didn't spend much time inside, but it is very clean, spacious and has great pilot rest area and flight planning room. I highly recommend them if you happen to be travelling through.

We specifically booked a luxury SUV to ensure enough space for our luggage. When we arrived right as the location opened, we were greeted by a customer service representative named Ana, who had actually just left us a message as we were walking in. Unfortunately, she informed us that the vehicle we reserved online was not available. While this clearly wasn't Ana's fault and appeared to be an issue with the company's online booking system, we were understandably stressed since our departure time was approaching and we needed a solution quickly. Ana immediately stepped in to help. She asked if a minivan would work for us and said she would do everything she could to find one, though she couldn't guarantee availability. We left the location to figure out a backup plan, and about 20 minutes later Ana called to let us know she had secured a minivan for us. She truly saved the day--and honestly saved the company from what would have been a very poor review due to the misleading online booking experience. Ana was proactive, kind, and solution-oriented, and she is absolutely an asset to this business. We are very grateful for her help.
