A really nice sales associate checked with the manager and told us it was on promotion, so he had us bring the item up front to purchase it. When we got to the register, it would not ring up at the promotional price. The manager then came over and immediately started insisting the price was wrong and aggressively trying to prove it to us. After going back and forth, he finally said their system was wrong and claimed this was a model they never carry. The whole interaction was unnecessarily rude and dismissive. He refused to honor the price that was listed online, even though the store staff told us it was on promotion. We can literally still buy it online for the price that brought us into the store in the first place. Way to lose a customer for no reason. If your prices are wrong online, as your own staff said, and your team does not know what is on promotion, that is a management issue, not a customer issue. The sales associate was helpful, but the manager's attitude completely ruined the experience. Rude.

I recently went back to the store and there was a young female worker that was behind the register. I told her that I had not been into the store for about 20 years. She welcomed me back, but it really did not feel sincere. I mean I felt she could have made an old client more welcomed and comfortable. Sadly people who actually care are a dead breed. There was a man in the store present as well, but he did not say much. I will keep my fun memories from the past and will not be returning to shop at Lopes hardware store. Not only did he help me get it all loaded up he enlisted another employee to help and they got it done fast. Once we were outside, I realized I purchased the wrong size cinderblocks so they sent me back inside to make the exchange. While I did that Pedro loaded up the proper cinderblocks onto the cart for me, and then met me outside in the voting and unloading lanes where my truck was parked. He helped me load those into my truck as well! Before this, I was being helped by one of your other customers. I thought it was very smart of Pedro to realize that another customer was helping me and that he should step in and get the job done, which he did! That is management material, right there! Subject: Concern Regarding Customer Treatment and Receipt Check…read more After paying for my purchase through Customer Service as a phone sale, I exited the store and was walking through the parking lot when an unknown male in a gray shirt and jeans approached me and demanded my receipt. He did not display a Home Depot badge, uniform, or any type of identification, so I had no way of knowing he was associated with the store. I asked him why he couldn't verify my purchase through the store's cameras instead of confronting me, and he raised his voice and responded, "I don't check cameras, I check people." While yelling, spit landed on my face. I found his behavior intimidating, aggressive, and extremely unprofessional. This is not the first time I have experienced being stopped after making a legitimate purchase. These repeated encounters have left me feeling that I am being racially profiled. No paying customer should be made to feel targeted after completing a legitimate transaction. I am a loyal Home Depot customer and spend thousands upon thousands of dollars every year at this location. I expect to be treated with respect and professionalism. Instead, I was confronted in the parking lot by someone who did not identify himself and treated as though I had done something wrong. That is simply unacceptable. I respectfully request that Home Depot review this incident, identify the individual involved, and clarify whether employees are required to identify themselves before approaching customers in the parking lot. I also believe there should be better communication between Customer Service, especially regarding phone sale transactions, and any employees responsible for verifying purchases so legitimate customers are not unnecessarily confronted after checkout. I hope this matter can be resolved professionally. However, if this issue continues or is not appropriately addressed, I will consider my legal options. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
