I mentioned to Chris that something went awry after we tried to secure the cover of the Nest thermostat (it was loose from the wall). The AC had worked before but after doing something with the cover, the AC stopped working. Chris quickly found the problem (a fuse had blown out). Chris was very professional, gave me some ideas on a Honeywell thermostat (we're not BIG fans of the new NEST thermostat), showed me how to read the error codes on our furnace (watch the number of red light flashes and compare it to the brochure left with the furnace). It was easy, peasy, even someone like me who has no HVAC experience could do this. I can't thank Chris enough for his great personality, true professionalism, answered my questions, taught me a few things (learning something new is always good) and even loved on my 2 labs (turns out we both love animals). There was one window that posed a potential problem because it was blocked by a built-in immobile desk with shutters. The solution was to install the detector on the shutters. I also requested a fob, something not usually offered. They thought it was unavailable with my system, They did the research to find that they are available and Anthony left the job to obtain it. When he returned, the two of them connected the fob to the system. Beyond that, Tristen was patient explaining how the system worked. One of my questions was not easily answered regarding how to access a chart I had earlier seen on the home page. Tristen spent time researching and finding the answer. Throughout the time Tristen and Anthony were here they worked quietly, conscientiously and with consideration. Update: Recent heavy snow damaged the sensor for the outside garage door. They will be returning to replace the sensor as well as adding a panic alarm function to the fobs. I've also requested outside signs to let people know about the presence of the burglar alarm. When we called for service on the phone recently, we had to talk to an AI 'bot. Then we kept receiving text messages, even after we requested that the texting stop. Then, after the service, the tech did what many have to do today: Turn into a warm-up act for the baubles salesmen, AKA " a comfort advisor." Oh, and of course All Hours wants us to become a subscription "member." When I asked the tech to have the baubles salesman email me about selling us baubles, I was told that the salesman has to come talk with me face-to-face. How ironic, THE CUSTOMER has to deal with an AI 'BOT when service is needed, but the salesman pitch, er the comfort advisor, has to be face to face. I think the company would just be better to abandon the heating and air business all together. They might try selling high risk investments from Wall Street. They are all set: Recurring revenues; up-selling the customer; add some smoke and mirrors, plus fear uncertainty and doubt, all while using AI. They are all set!

Cool Breeze had some very high bars to live up to, and they knocked it out of the park. We had…read morecalled them out for an estimate to replace our furnace and A/C with a new furnace and heat pump, and they were following some other companies that did a fantastic job both with the assessment and the solutions they offered. Anthony from Cool Breeze came in and immediately went the extra mile, not only checking out our existing units but also taking the time to go up into our attic (very hard to get to) and down into our crawl space to make sure that any new equipment we bought wouldn't be compromised by bad insulation or ducting. We were immediately impressed with the effort and with the clarity of the info he provided, and he also had a very easygoing manner that made us feel comfortable/unpressured in considering the options Cool Breeze presented. After Anthony's on-site assessment, we spoke with James at the main office, who took a ton of time providing us with very clear and sensible options. We had a bunch of follow-up questions, and he handled them all thoroughly, taking the time after hours to provide additional estimates and helping us make sure we were making the best possible choice.
