It's 4:45AM. You hear a strange beep. At first you think you must be dreaming. Nope. There it is again. You turn on the light and begin fumbling around the house. You wander through the dark searching for the sound the way a trained police dog searches for suspects. The problem is you seem to be chasing an entire team and not just an individual. One by one by one by one you pull down smoke detectors searching for the culprit. 6/7 down. The last suspect - mounted to the ceiling... 22 feet in the air. Impossible with the ladders I own. You try pushing the reset / silence button with a makeshift stick. SUCESS!! You push the button. Does the beeping stop? No. You throw the breaker for the smoke detectors... No luck. The beeping continues on. The smoke detector must be possessed. There's no other explanation. Now you've begun to grown accustomed to the cadence of the beeping. Is this the new household normal? Will this forever be the soundtrack of our lives? I leave for work. The wife remains home. She calls and calls - resource after resource. I, from work, am given ABC Fire as a recommendation from a coworker. She calls. They answer. She explains the situation - frantic, exhausted and overwhelmed. They call a technician and he, Brian, calls my wife back. They speak. I'm quite sure Brian heard the sheer desperation in her voice. He is there within a few hours. Almost 12 hours later, the home is silent again. We have 7 new smoke detectors (education point - the entire unit should be completely replaced every 10 years). We will never know why our smoke detector went crazy but ABC Fire saved the day... and maybe someday our lives by having these new detectors installed. They were fast, upfront about pricing, efficient and well, super heroes to my wife. They saved our ears and sanity. This is exactly what a company should strive to replicate. We had this company service our extinguisher since 2004 with good results, but they didn't come last year and we haven't seen them since 2020. I called to see what was up and got the brush off. I was finally told a tech would call me, but never heard back. My guess is they are too busy, but who knows? Finally went with another company. read more

I purchased a brand new fire extinguisher for my small office in 12/2019. I took it back for annual service in 01/2021. I received a pick up stub with number and paid the bill. I returned to pick it up- provided the ticket to the employee behind the desk. She was gone for some time- returned and said it had been bumped and a tech was checking it out. 15 minuets later she returned with an old, stained and dented extinguisher. I said it was not mine- she said it matched the ticket. I asked to speak to the manager. I waited - the manager - a woman my age- was patronizing calling me "sweetie" -I'm a 60 plus Academic. She said "these things happen". I asked for my extinguisher. Finally I was given a new extinguisher. When I went to back out of the lot- a large Truck blocked the entrance. It was difficult to exit the lot. I've lived in the area 40 years- one of the worst PR experiences. read more

Very disappointed in this company! We have used them for many many years (I think it has been close to 40 years...) for a commercial property we own in Reno. Recently I received a bill from a collection agency for their services. Apparently they did not follow up to finding our new address after we moved. We had no idea there was a bill due because we never received one. All they had to do was make a call to the business manager and get the information but they did not do that. The person I spoke with on the phone was EXTREAMELY rude!! We are presently looking for a new company to service our fire extinguisher needs and suggest you do that too. read more

Unsure how they are as far as their service goes, but from being on the road, their drivers do not care, they drive recklessly close and just unprofessional. An example of the driver I encountered today was in a box truck and we were driving on the highway over by the Lemmon valley area, and we were going about 70 mph , he kept inching to the point of where I legitimately thought he was going to rear end me or spin me out, so when I had the chance to get over I did. I threw my hand out the window in a "WTF" motion (no I did not flip the bird or any of that) the driver decided they were going to pace me, and stare at me and completely disregard everything in front of the vehicle (while slowly drifting into my lane) then proceed to flip me the bird and give the "Jerk off" motion. At this point I won't lie I gave the motion back to him and then he proceeded to go faster and go on his way. Not sure if buddy was having a bad day but this is no way to act especially while on the job in a marked company vehicle. I don't want to give the impression of one bad apple is the way the entire company is but you can guarantee that I will never use this company, Nor will I recommend this company purely based off the fact them allowing employees as such. Im never the type of person to leave reviews or call but after fearing for my safety at highway speeds i felt the need to let everyone know. I'm writing this review for my mother who had her smoke alarm batteries replaced a few years ago by ABC Fire & Cylinder Service. At the time she could not safely climb short step ladders. Since we are visiting her, helping with maintenance around her home, including replacing 5 smoke alarm batteries, we learned that 3 years ago, she hired this company and was originally quoted $95 to replace the batteries in 5 smoke alarms. In the end her invoice was a whopping total of $398.73. Which was pretty shocking. I decided to reach out to ABC Fire to find out what their fees would be for this service. They did quote me accurately, in line with the invoice my mother paid, however the cost is so exorbitant that it is quite honestly disgusting. I understand covering your costs as a company, labor etc... but this excessive charge for a basic service that takes maybe 20 minutes at the most to do... Unacceptable. $38.50 - Truck Fee (What does this even mean?) $242 - 2 hour minimum Tech Labor Charge ($121 per hour) $109.75 - 5 U9VL Batteries ($21.95 each *cost in hardware store $9.99) $8.48 - Tax of course TOTAL $398.73 Bottom line is that their costs for a basic service are totally absurd. Would NEVER use again and would caution anyone considering basic services like this to find someone else. read more

I was in dire need to have my fire extinguishers certified while I waited. I called and called and nobody around could certify them for California use or do it well I wait. I need the fire extinguishers for a CHP inspection and had drove from Sacramento to Lassen county before i realized they were out of date making them no good. After googling and not finding anybody that could help I turned to yelp and search "fire protection" and ran across them. They saved me from having to drive all the way back to Sacramento to get them certified. A+ to your team ABC Fire. read more

There won't be enough I can say to encourage everyone to use Any company other than this one. I'm the Operations Manager of a 10k ft food production facility. They did 'servicing', without touching a foam extinguisher next to our cooktop that had started leaking prior to scheduled servicing. The technician overlooked the unit. We were invoiced for a dozen things, including an extra fee for that specific unit. I had it moved to the warehouse. After calling on it, the same technician returned and 'replaced' it. Except the new extinguisher started leaking from the same spot as the previous one the day of installation. He blatantly lied about servicing, tried to convince me that it happened during reinstallation and lied about replacing it because obviously, I'm not keenly aware of toxic substances dripping on the floor five feet from my line. In the food industry, you use Anything before water or a fire extinguisher, which I'm glad everyone is trained on because I have absolutely no confidence that extinguisher functions at all. Don't put your employees and facility well being in jeopardy because of ABC fire. read more

Cool business. Straight forward. No upselling. Brought my Extinguisher to be checked and certified on the spot. Then they sent someone out to our business to install a first aid kit. Told us exactly the size kit that would be best without over purchasing. Last thing I needed was an upsell so I'm happy I went with this company. read more

So I have been dealing with (sort of dealing with) ABC for the lat 3 years after moving into my home that is equipt with a fire suppression system that needs to be serviced yearly. Year 1 - after some schedule arranging and calender adjusting easy meet and service of my system with an OK friendly technician. Year 2 - takes all summer to get an appointment - when I finally do, technical is late - again. I find out the system has a leak and needs to be repaired before back-flow service.. Crickets... chirp chirp... nothing from ABC.. I call to schedule a reminder - the receptionist women takes my info...... Year 3 - next call I receive is over a year later and the technician says he has been meaning to call me.... I explain that the system needs to be repaired/serviced before backflowed again, but I jump through some more hoops to work with technicians schedule to get it tested and yes, confirmed it needs repair before service... Now the homeowner is not happy and calls ABC directly since nothing is getting done - they try and skirt the issue by saying " they were not able to get an appointment with me and I had to keep rescheduling on them" BS! I'd highly recommend using any fire service OTHER THAN ABC.. read more
