I am so happy that I went with Desert Hills for my security door! It's absolutely gorgeous, made entirely of steel, and impossible to break in. Ed and his team are amazing! Ed gave me a good quote, and within 5 weeks my door was installed. It's worth the money to get one of these doors. My neighbors are now all asking where I got it. read more

I needed replacement security screen doors installed. I took my measurements to Lowes and Home Depot only to find my doors were not a standard size. I also realized the workman ship was lacking. I started looking for someone to replace the doors and I came across Ed with Desert Hills Custom Made Security Doors. I made an appointment with Ed for March 17th between 10 and noon. He arrived right at 10;00. We discussed the various screen size, colors of the door frame, type of hardware etc. Ed explained that all doors were made to order (locally) and it would take 4 -6 weeks from date of order to installation. My new doors were installed in 5 weeks. The doors are very well made and the installation was quick. A few days after the doors were installed I had an issue with the locks. I texted Ed and a few days later, I had someone here to fix the issue with the locks. I would highly recommend Ed and Desert Hills Custom Made Security Doors for new security doors. read more

I have nothing but good things to say about our experience with this company. I messaged the company inquiring about a quote for a new security door and Ed, the owner got back to me right away. I think he was even on vacation at the time! He was very friendly and provided me with the information I needed to feel confident to move forward with the process. Ed directed me to their site where I could look at all the different designs they offered. There are several tiers, all with different price ranges(based on design not quality) . We chose a door from the lowest priced tier, but even though it wasn't the most expensive door, the design is still beautiful and the quality is top notch. Because the doors are custom. It does take a little time between when you choose your door and when your door is installed. But it was well worth the wait. They made sure everything was measured accurately. They addressed my concerns about security and gaps. I was even told they would try and make it so I could use the same key as my other front door. On the day of my installation, they arrived early(woohoo!), and it didn't take long at all. Everything looked perfect! They re keyed the lock so I didn't need a separate key, and most importantly NO GAPS! I've never had a security door fit so perfectly. The color match was perfect the design was even better run person, my cats can't ruin it, it closes on its own(I didn't expect that, and I love it!) and honestly everything was even better than I could have expected. Everyone I spoke with was very kind and answered my questions. You can also tell this company stands by its work. I was told that if I had any problems they would do everything they could to make it right. And even though we didn't have any issues whatsoever, I'm confident that if that was the case they would have. If you're looking to get a new security door, I can't recommend Desert Hills Window Coverings enough. Thank you Ed and Team! Great work! We are very very happy with our door and have already gotten several compliments. read more

We absolutely love our new front door! I was concerned that these would make our house look like a fortress, but it is quite aesthetically pleasing and actually makes our house look nicer. The door is extremely good quality and nothing will break that down! I really appreciate the great service and how Ed explained everything in detail to us. We couldn't be happier, and we'll likely get a security door installed in the back as well. Thanks! read more

We looked at the reviews of all the security screen door companies, and visited 2 other vendor's showrooms. Ended up with Desert Foothills, because their reviews are all wonderful. So glad we went with them! Ed made the experience so easy. He told us which color would be best with our paint color, and it's perfect. The only tough part was choosing the design because there are so many beautiful ones. Our door is gorgeous, and the experience with Desert Foothills was the best! Ed was wonderful, and Al, the installer was so great. I wish I could add the photo on here; but am having trouble downloading it. It just adds so much to the house; it's perfect, and we could not be happier. Would give them 10 stars if we could. read more

Asked for a quote yesterday. Spoke with Edward S who was NOT helpful. I was interested in a security door and sunscreens. He informed me that I could go online and let him know what door I liked and he would give me a quote. When I asked about the quote for the screens he responded that I was "too far out (I live in N, Scottsdale) for them to come out for a quote (apparently unless I was also buying a door). Luckily for me another company - with all 5 stars had contacted me within 10 minutes of my request - and set up an appointment for next week. So I will take my oversized front security door and 25 windows and do business with someone who is professional and willing to come to my home and give me a quote. Edward needs to go back to Customer Service School. read more

Calling Desert Hills Window Coverings was the BEST decision I've ever made for my home. They were 1/2 the price of 3 other companies I contacted and their installation was a month quicker!!! It was almost too good to be true. But it was. I LOVE my new window screens. If you don't call them, you'll definitely be missing out. read more

Ed & the Desert Hills team were fantastic. The door is awesome! The service and install was even better. Imagine that, a company and owner who do what they say, show up early!, and stand behind the product. The COVID haas become a excuse for crappy service across many areas. Not so at Desert Hills. Desert Hills comes highly recommended, and yes they were less expensive then the other door companies in the valley. read more

This company is the best! Contacted me very quickly, polite and professional. I wanted a security door that had big dog resistant screen. Ed came to my place, took the measurements and I told him which design I wanted, I was impressed that he had an associate come the next day to double measure. I was scheduled soon after that. When my door arrived I was impressed with the quality, even the welds were nice, not globby (I used to be a welder) you will not get that from big box store doors, he was quick to respond when I had a question as well. I highly recommend Desert Hills windows and doors read more

I have had 2 projects completed with Ed and his team and both were life changing. I live on a golf course (TPC) and was having a fair amount of damage due to golf balls. We first installed a large sun screen that automatically comes up/down with time of day. It now protects the area where I have a TV and lounge area and it feels so much more protected and cooler! Plus you can see through it but golfers can't really see in so it also added some privacy. The second project was screens put on all my exposed windows. They are far enough from the window to protect the glass. And it's so much cooler in my house yet it still preserved the view! I can now leave for business trips and not worry that I came coming home to broken windows. Lastly, Ed and Dan are great to work with. My neighbors love the results so I quickly recommended Ed. We were looking to get security doors installed and we initially went to Home Depot and Lowe's to check out the offerings. They looked fine, but after we scheduled them to come for a measurement I started to worry that the end result might not be so great. I ended up finding Ed here on Yelp and now that our doors are all installed and the job is done, I am SO GLAD I did. Our doors look truly incredible (photos don't do them justice- plus, there's TONS of options; way more than at the big box stores) and the customer service could not have been any better. Right away, Ed was able to give me some estimates over the phone and he was so, so kind and helpful even though I wasn't exactly sure what we wanted. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Highly recommend this company! read more

Desert Hills installed two security doors and sun screens for my entire house, and I am very happy with the quality of materials and installation. I followed the 5 star reviews to Ed and his crew at DH Window Coverings and Screens, as I needed some sunscreens and a Security Door. The whole process from the initial quote on Yelp and the onsite home consultation to the final installation of the screens and door was very professional with all quality materials and labor. The guys for the install appointments were always on time, answered any questions, etc. Ed followed up after everything was done to make sure everything was satisfactory. We bought a new house without any window coverings and found Ed through Yelp. He's friendly, prompt, responsive, and professional. He helped me figure out what we needed, problem solved a tough spot, and got our whole house set up with quality blinds for a fair price. Ed Sarkisian (owner) and Richard (security door) and Dan (sunscreens) were a fantastic team. Ed came to my house the same day I called for a quote. He went through the custom catalog with me and was extremely courteous and knowledgeable. The company custom made a security door to install in a location where I had just removed a sliding glass door and replaced it with a regular entry door. They also installed 90% black screens for me on multiple windows. This was last year in September 2017. It's now October 2018 and the custom security door (and its bug screening) is holding up beautifully, with daily use multiple times a day. The window screens, in direct sun all day, are as dark as the day they were installed and easy to remove for cleaning. In addition, the install of the screens was no inconvenience to me because I didn't even need to be home for it. During the door install, they rekeyed the security door to match the other house doors. I was/am so happy with this company and I'm sorry it took a year to post a review, but this way I can report that after much use, the materials are showing very little wear and tear, and are holding up great. Of note: The prices are very reasonable, the craftsmanship's is good, and every person who came out to my house or called over the course of the project was very professional. (I specifically recall one of the installers was named Al, and he was courteous, fast, and efficient during the door install and also just an all-around nice guy to chat with.) read more

I called this company to ask about repairing a window sun screen that blew off the house in a wind storm. After a few minutes of exchange the person said that I could drop it off at his house because it was closer than the business and they sometimes do that. So, I asked for the address. Then he says you know what, I don't want to do the job because you aren't going to be happy and I don't want to do it. I told him I was confused with what he said, because I didn't say anything about not being happy. Then he said, well I don't want the job because it's not worth it to me and you won't be happy. How does one recommend a company like this? NOT! read more

Very happy with my security screen door on my front door and on the sliding glass patio door in back. Certainly not cheap, I was nervous to make the investment but so glad I did. They are beautiful and strong. Ed, the owner made the initial visit and helped me with color choice and had suggested I look over the different styles so I could pick some options beforehand (there are lots to choose from). Then the installer came and measured and did the install when doors were ready. Really wish I remembered his name because he did a great job! Ed followed up making sure all was well. read more

The owner, Ed, genuinely cares about his customer and their satisfaction. Absolutely recommend them.

Just had shutters installed throughout home over the weekend by DH. We had gotten several estimates all from very professional nice people. Ed however was by far the most knowledgeable, knew his product very well, and helped us avoid some bad design decisions we didn't think of nor was shown. He is the type of guy who really seems to like to help people. We were so happy when he even came in lower than the others so it was a no brainer. Installer, Pat, was friendly, professional, and did a fantastic job. Really knows what he is doing. Very respectful of your home; cleans up after himself, Is careful with walls and doors. There was no issues with install at all and looks great and with shutters there doesn't seem to be a lot of room for mistakes. Impressive. read more

Ed's very friendly, quick, and responsive. He did a shutter and sunscreens for us. We got quotes from several different places for shutters, his was priced well and great quality. It took about 6-8 weeks for the custom shutters but right when he received it, his team was able to install it the next day. The sunscreens cooled down our bedroom significantly as well, they were also installed very well and looks great. I would definitely recommend them and call them the next time we need window treatment. read more

We just moved in so we wanted blinds now & sunscreens yesterday. Yelp introduced us to DHWC and we now have beautiful blinds and efficient sunscreens. It's always nice to work with a business owner who doesn't come across as a salesman. Ed is a thoughtful, refreshing problem solver. He's easy to reach, patient and communicates clearly. The installers arrived as planned and were gone in an instant. We felt very well taken care of throughout. Who knew there were 90% sunscreens available? The samples were abundant and nice, but the screens and blinds exceeded our expectations. We trust and confidently recommend DHWC! read more

The owner, Ed, was friendly and very responsive to questions and concerns both before and after the installation. The security screendoor is attractive, well built and the installer was terrific. He called on the installation day to say that he would be there soon, but was unhappy with the coating on one spot on the door and was having them recoat it. This surprised and pleased me as it's not something you would normally expect from an installer. In addition, he did a great job on the install. I would definitely recommend them and will use them again in the future if the need arises. read more

Highly recommend Desert Hills Windows and Screens. Fantastic customer service and outstanding product.

What an absolute pleasure to work with this company. The owner, Ed came out to give me estimates on new window screens and screen slider doors. I was fearing another high pressure salesman type but he was very pleasant and professional. He honestly told me what he thought would be the best fit for our house and we went from there. Dan came out to do all the measuring and the install as well. Super nice guy, as was his assistant John. The prices were very reasonable. It took about two weeks to get the screens and sliders. Install was done professionally and correctly. The inside of our house is comfy and cool! What's not to love about these guys?! read more
