I needed replacement security screen doors installed. I took my measurements to Lowes and Home Depot only to find my doors were not a standard size. I also realized the workman ship was lacking. I started looking for someone to replace the doors and I came across Ed with Desert Hills Custom Made Security Doors. I made an appointment with Ed for March 17th between 10 and noon. He arrived right at 10;00. We discussed the various screen size, colors of the door frame, type of hardware etc. Ed explained that all doors were made to order (locally) and it would take 4 -6 weeks from date of order to installation. My new doors were installed in 5 weeks. The doors are very well made and the installation was quick. A few days after the doors were installed I had an issue with the locks. I have nothing but good things to say about our experience with this company. I messaged the company inquiring about a quote for a new security door and Ed, the owner got back to me right away. I think he was even on vacation at the time! He was very friendly and provided me with the information I needed to feel confident to move forward with the process. Ed directed me to their site where I could look at all the different designs they offered. There are several tiers, all with different price ranges(based on design not quality) . We chose a door from the lowest priced tier, but even though it wasn't the most expensive door, the design is still beautiful and the quality is top notch. Because the doors are custom. It does take a little time between when you choose your door and when your door is installed. But it was well worth the wait. They made sure everything was measured accurately. They addressed my concerns about security and gaps. I was even told they would try and make it so I could use the same key as my other front door. On the day of my installation, they arrived early(woohoo!), and it didn't take long at all. Everything looked perfect! They re keyed the lock so I didn't need a separate key, and most importantly NO GAPS! I've never had a security door fit so perfectly. The color match was perfect the design was even better run person, my cats can't ruin it, it closes on its own(I didn't expect that, and I love it!) and honestly everything was even better than I could have expected. Everyone I spoke with was very kind and answered my questions. You can also tell this company stands by its work. I was told that if I had any problems they would do everything they could to make it right. And even though we didn't have any issues whatsoever, I'm confident that if that was the case they would have. If you're looking to get a new security door, I can't recommend Desert Hills Window Coverings enough. Thank you Ed and Team! Great work! Asked for a quote yesterday. Spoke with Edward S who was NOT helpful. I was interested in a security door and sunscreens. He informed me that I could go online and let him know what door I liked and he would give me a quote. When I asked about the quote for the screens he responded that I was "too far out (I live in N, Scottsdale) for them to come out for a quote (apparently unless I was also buying a door). Luckily for me another company - with all 5 stars had contacted me within 10 minutes of my request - and set up an appointment for next week. So I will take my oversized front security door and 25 windows and do business with someone who is professional and willing to come to my home and give me a quote. Ed Sarkisian (owner) and Richard (security door) and Dan (sunscreens) were a fantastic team. Ed came to my house the same day I called for a quote. He went through the custom catalog with me and was extremely courteous and knowledgeable. The company custom made a security door to install in a location where I had just removed a sliding glass door and replaced it with a regular entry door. They also installed 90% black screens for me on multiple windows. This was last year in September 2017. It's now October 2018 and the custom security door (and its bug screening) is holding up beautifully, with daily use multiple times a day. The window screens, in direct sun all day, are as dark as the day they were installed and easy to remove for cleaning. In addition, the install of the screens was no inconvenience to me because I didn't even need to be home for it. During the door install, they rekeyed the security door to match the other house doors. I was/am so happy with this company and I'm sorry it took a year to post a review, but this way I can report that after much use, the materials are showing very little wear and tear, and are holding up great. Of note: The prices are very reasonable, the craftsmanship's is good, and every person who came out to my house or called over the course of the project was very professional. (I specifically recall one of the installers was named Al, and he was courteous, fast, and efficient during the door install and also just an all-around nice guy to chat with.) read more

I called this company to ask about repairing a window sun screen that blew off the house in a wind storm. After a few minutes of exchange the person said that I could drop it off at his house because it was closer than the business and they sometimes do that. So, I asked for the address. Then he says you know what, I don't want to do the job because you aren't going to be happy and I don't want to do it. It took about 6-8 weeks for the custom shutters but right when he received it, his team was able to install it the next day. He called on the installation day to say that he would be there soon, but was unhappy with the coating on one spot on the door and was having them recoat it.
