Really 4.5 stars. There was some difficultly with communication that required some persistence on my part. But that only rates a 1/2 star reduction because he did eventually schedule me in. The long version follows: We have had problems with the front door for some time. And it seemed to be getting worse over the years. We had someone out several years ago, and they only put additional stripping on the jamb. This year the door sweep appeared to be wearing out (again), and the new one didn't want to mount (it was too thick). Checking reviews I called Precision Fit (Jason). After a few fumbled communications, Jason put me in his calendar. From then on the communication was good. He showed up to evaluate my door. I had sent him photos, and he thought he might have to remove the entire door frame and redo it. But he wanted to see it for himself, and was going to be in the area. To my surprise, when he showed up he said something along the lines of "I can do this now". Next thing I know he's moved the hinges, and shimmed a bit, and replaced the weather stripping, and even lowered the threshold so the sweep doesn't drag so much. Plus he drove longer screws into the frame to hold the hinges better. When he was done the door opened and closed better, and there were no light leaks around the door. Previously what clued me in to the problem was light leaks both at the top-left and lower-right of the door. Those are now gone. And he didn't have to rip the frame out. He still could have done that, and I wouldn't have known that it wasn't necessary. But he spent about 1-2 hours, fixed the problem, and saved me money compared to the more expensive procedure of remounting a door frame. So I recommend this service. They are honest and only do the work that is needed, and they appear to do it right. Post-script: It turns out that I called Precision Fit six years ago, but it wasn't Jason then. I remember a middle-aged man who didn't really impress me. He's the one who added thicker weather stripping and said not much else could be done. Jason proved him wrong.

Unfortunately, due to heavy demand, I had to wait about 2 1/2 weeks before they could come out to fix my sliding door which would no longer slide. I called another company I had used in the past, and they were running about the same timeframe. I wanted to try Phoenix Sliding Doors, so I went with their appointment. I warned the woman who made the appointment that my sliding doors were 8 ft tall and obviously very heavy. She asked me to send in some pictures, which I did. She assured me that one technician would be able to handle it. She was right. I received a message yesterday confirming today's appointment, The technician who came today was obviously a pro. He called to let me know when he was 20 minutes away. He quickly figured out that a roller was most likely the problem. He removed the screen door and then both the fixed glass door and then the sliding glass door. There were various parts to the track and the doors, like a puzzle, and he expertly removed parts. He ascertained that the roller was indeed no longer working, and went out to get new ones. When the technician replaced (all) the rollers, he just as expertly put the doors and tracks back together. First he cleaned the track, which was filthy from dust, bugs and dog hair, trapped in places where we could not clean it while the doors were in place. Then he put the doors back on, making sure everything was level and worked properly. In all, I was very pleased with the expertise of the technician, and the price was reasonable for the work done. Would I have liked to not wait two and a half weeks to get the repair? Sure, but if waiting meant getting a very competent technician, a reasonable price, and a company that followed up well, then waiting was okay.
