I think this place is pretty cool because of how well it connects to the local area with their decor and menu item names. I ordered a Beef 52 Cheesesteak to-go on a Thursday afternoon and it was ready in 5 minutes. It comes in a pretty nice box and has a pickle. It honestly didn't hit the spot because I the cheese was a bit too sharp and overpowered the meat. The meat itself was good though. I really wanted to try an Italian so I came back another day and ordered a Phantom Italian. It's a pretty good sandwich but it pains me to say that so thought the Italian from Jersey Mikes tasted better. I also think that it's important to support local businesses so I don't mind coming back for more.

A great find today, we stopped by the Desert Deli, its located on W. Ave L. Don't let the exterior full you, its a gem of a deli, full of many varieties of sandwiches and salads. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The interior has ample seating with about 6 table or so. You order at the counter top, they have several huge menu boards to choose from. chips, drinks, salads like mac salad, potato salad or larger green salads are some of the options. The two sandwiches we tried were the Hungry Italian and the Pastrami Brisket The Hungry Italian was full of prosciutto,capicola, mortadela, Pepperoni, Sweet peppers, provolone cheese,pepperoncinis, red onion, lettuce mayo, red wine vinegar in a soft roll, tons of meat, lots of flavor, a must try. This is one of the better Italian sandwiches I have tried in my life, the only thing that would make it more epic is a spicier pepper vs sweet. I was also surprised that they only offered a single size, for the 18 bucks, great sandwich but a bit on the expensive side, it seemed a bit much, would be nice to have a half size as an option, maybe there is but they did not offer it as an option. The other sandwich was the Pastrami Brisket on Rye, nice layer of cheese and Pastrami on perfectly grilled rye bread , with a pickle and a side mac salad with a lot of flavor. Each of the sandwiches were prepared very well, lots of cheese and meat layers, extremely hardy. A great spot for a sandwich.

I definitely enjoyed this veteran owned sandwich spot. It's small spot with a few tables but they have plenty of choices. I love All the sandwiches we ordered. My son ordered one with a chipotle dressing that was so delicious. The smokiness was mmmmmmm! The pickles on the side def adds that extra zing you want. Def a must try little deli spot! So good!

My first impression was the ladies behind the counter were hustling. There were a few people inside but I could see online orders coming in. Everyone there, even the customers, were super friendly and it was very clean inside. They have a fantastic selection from drinks, to chips, to sandwiches. I decided to try two sandwiches. A California Cheesesteak Reuben Sandwich The Reuben was loaded with pastrami, the thousand island dressing was creamy and tasted amazing with the sauerkraut. The CA cheesesteak was insanely good! Personal favorite. The meat was so tender, the bread was nice and chewy, the bacon was smokey, the grilled onions added a slight sweetness, the tomatoes were fresh, I loved the addition of thousand island but the pickles, ya'll! I never realized how much I needed pickles on a cheesesteak sandwich. My goodness! Going forward, I'll eat the hot sandwiches at the restaurant as the bread softens due to the heat. But no regrets because they were fantastic! Btw... check out their board for their daily deals! If I would've paid attention, I would've ordered a panini and had $3 off.

I had the pastrami corned beef combo and I would say this is the best pastrami sandwich I've had in the antelope Valley. It's boars head meat so for premade it's pretty good unfortunately I took the food to go so the bread was a bit soggy by the time I got home in Palmdale that being said, it was good bread. The meat portion was pretty generous better than most nowadays. My girlfriend got the Joshua salad and she liked it.

Service was great ! Place was clean and organized Ordered a meatball sub ... was a bit pricey however it was a massive sandwich that could feed 2 people and was hot, cheesy, saucy and delicious !! Will be coming back to try the other sandwiches

First time here, we stopped by because of the high ratings. But after having the chance try them, it's nothing outstanding to be honest. We had BLT gotta say the bacon was not great and super simple sandwich & we also had the Apache it was ok but nothing over the top. Trying to stay positive but honestly won't be stopping here again. This place is unexpectedly great considering the general lack of options in the area. Their staff is always kind and works fast to get everyone's order out correctly. I like that they have a few benches for outdoor seating and the inside is cool and clean. Their sandwich menu is extensive and they can offer Hot and Cold subs depending on your mood. I love the pickle included with every sandwich. The only reason why I do not rate this a 5 star place just yet is that their bread rolls could be better for the approx $15 sandwich cost, and they do not offer unique sodas. read more

I've been going to Desert Deli since they opened and I thought the quality of the food and the servings compensated for the higher prices. I won't be back. I ordered a veggie sandwich for my daughter (good) and Beef 52 Cheesesteak for me. The meat was burned and so salty. I've eaten their cheesesteaks many times and it was never like this! I showed them and although they were understanding, and offered to give me a cookie, I declined. I did leave the other half of my sandwich at home as I only brought half to eat in the car. I threw both halves in the garbage. My husband's Reuben was placed in a plastic container and the heat from the sandwich caused condensation which dripped onto the sandwich and made the bread soggy which was gross. They did remake the sandwich and placed in a bag. They shouldn't be in plastic containers. This is the second time this happened and the second time I had them remake it. Food costs so much these days and to have to throw a sandwich out and waste 20.00 is something I won't do again. Used to love this place but I won't be back and it saddens me. You lost a long time customer. read more

My wife and I have eaten at this deli several times. I ordered the Phantom Italiano sandwich and always orders the roast beef sandwich. The sandwich's were delicious as always. The vegetables were fresh as well as the bread. I recommend eating at this deli, I believe it's the best deli in Lancaster. read more

YUM!!! So I finally got to try this place out today now I ordered delivery because of just pure laziness so delivery does raise the price quite a bit but for me it's worth it lol anyways I got the twisted Ruben and the macaroni salad ! The sandwich was nice and hot still and very good you can really taste the quality of the ingredients! It was a little spicy ( chipotle mayo ) but the pickle and the creamy fresh macaroni salad really helped cut the spicy and the warmth just a really good combination I highly reccomend. I can't wait to try other items on the menu and really get to see the place for myself ! read more

The food here is just ok. Expensive and the service is not great. I went to order sandwiches and halfway through the order the guy taking my order walked into the back and didn't come back. It took a few minutes for someone else to come to finish taking my order. They charge $5 for a side of potato or Mac salad that is clearly out of a container that you buy for $1.50/lb at the grocery deli. For $5/4oz package, I would expect more. There are better sandwich shops in town for sure. Give this place a try if you don't mind bad service and ok food. It was $50 for three sandwiches... read more

Really good sandwiches. The service is fast and good, but the ambience isn't great. It's really loud and the tables aren't very comfortable. It's really more of a take out place. This place is bangin'. I have a real sandwich addiction, and this place was the perfect spot to help me get my fix! I came across it on DoorDash and ended up getting the Turkey club. It came on a croissant, which I was a little wary about because I thought it would be too small. HOLY HELL, was it delicious! If you're a sandwich person, you know how important it is to have it jam packed with all the fixings, and this sandwich truly was. It is a huge serving filled with meat, cheese and all the other good stuff. I was surprised at how massive the sandwich was, even though it was on a croissant... it definitely did not disappoint. I also ordered the macaroni salad which felt like I had just attended an award winning barbecue cookout in my mouth. Absolutely amazing, will definitely be back! read more

This is my place when I like to eat salads, they use very good quality ingredients that you can taste when you eat your salad. They are very friendly, but they are pretty busy sometimes specially during lunch hours, so I recommend to call ahead or to order online to avoid the waiting. read more

The food deserves a 5 star, however the service deserves a 2, I don't understand the Attitude from the young Ladies behind the counter, if they don't like serving the Customer they should stay home. Snapping at the Customer when they request napkins an a cup for the drinks, is not nice, I gave a 15% before the order was filled bad decision, I will go back but only to purchase a Sandwich an nothing else , I will leave no Tip. Decided to try this place after the pictures posted on Yelp. I tried the Mojave pastrami, The sandwich was everything i expected it to be. It was packed with Pastrami and the Bread was warm and soft. I have been here a couple of times since I have been receiving emails for a free Double Char Burger. The Habit's signature chargrilled cheeseburger in a double-patty version. The Double Char Burger - hits the spot. Juicy, savory with a nice balance of texture from the smoky char from the grill, crunch from the lettuce, pickles, and onions. The char grilling makes it more flavorful. Ordering is easy - either on the kiosk or at the register. Service crews are helpful and don't pressure you in ordering other items. The place is big enough to accommodate groups. The times I have been here - there's always a free table to dine in. Plenty of parking. *The Double Char is also available as a meal that comes with fries and a drink.

I am a regular customer and visit this location frequently, which is why I am especially disappointed that this issue has continued I want to make clear that every other employee I interact with at this location is polite. However, every time my order reaches this specific employee ( the oven ), the atmosphere immediately changes and I am met with attitude and unprofessional behavior. Whenever I politely ask for something simple, such as a little extra sauce, toppings, or ranch drizzle, he reacts with frustration by sighing loudly, puffing under his breath, mumbling comments, and speaking to me rudely. On multiple occasions, he has acted as though my requests were unreasonable. Most recently, requested that it be cooked well done because previous pizzas made during his shifts had come out undercooked and doughy in the center. When I checked the pizza, it was still not fully cooked. Instead of handling the situation professionally, he responded with attitude and said, "You wanted it well done then say sum ." Mind you i did budddy He placed the pizza back in the oven, but did not properly rotate or adjust it to cook evenly. I eventually had to ask him myself to rotate the pizza because one side was clearly cooking more than the other. Throughout the interaction he continued huffing, puffing, mumbling under his breath, and displaying visible irritation. After waiting even longer, I finally received the pizza with one side overly burnt and the other side unevenly cooked. At that point, I chose not to continue arguing because I did not want to escalate the situation further. I understand that food service can be stressful, and I have tried to remain patient and respectful every time I have visited. I had to go to the county Tax assessor around lunch time. I saw this deli and figured I'd give it a shot. I'm really glad I did, not only do they serve Boars Head (which is my personal favorite) but they also have some awesome soup and smoothie options. There was not much seating on the inside so I ordered to-go. I had the phantom Italian, and it was amazing. I wish they had a location on the Westside because I would frequent them at least 3 times a week.. great sandwich!!! If I could give them 6 stars I would. read more
