Came here after leaving another deli because they were swamped with online orders and didn't have the staff to accommodate us. I think we've found a new local deli to get our lunch at. I got the Mojave Pastrami and my son got a Beef 2 Bomber. We absolutely loved our sandwiches. Delicious, fresh, with nice portions. I also tried the potato salad which was decent. The meal came with an individually wrapped pickle that was a nice touch. Customer service was great. Got our food in a very fast amount time which I feel is crucial at lunchtime as I'm usually busy running around town at this time of day. Will definitely return. Definitely recommend. Been here twice now. Both times were orders for pick up. The first visit i had the B2 bomber (beef dip) it was delicious. Went in here recently, my third visit. Only the first visit was good. I ordered from a young black woman who made me feel very uncomfortable. She did not offer a "hello" or anything when I walked up to the register, like she immediately disliked me for some reason. Just the feeling I got. I asked for rare roast beef, but like on my second visit, what I got were what appeared to be dried up scraps of well done roast beef. On top of that one of the pieces of bread was dried up and hard. I love Desert Deli! Everything I've ordered from them has been amazingly delicious. I especially love the Reuben Twist. I do, however, miss the fact that they offered Kettle brand chips when they were at their previous location. I would love to see them offer those again I this new location. We got two sandwiches today, the hungry Italian and tuna sandwich. Both were delicious and filling. Their online order program is one of the best I have used: clear, logical, orderly, and easy to navigate. We ordered the sandwiches with many options and both were made exactly as requested! So, kudos to the software designer and staff who know how to use it. I read review comments regarding higher prices and smaller sandwiches. All I can say is this deli is not unique in having to raise prices, everywhere I go prices are up 25%. As to sandwich size all I can say is ours were filling and delicious. My only regret is that I live elsewhere but if I had this deli in my town I'd hit it weekly and work my through their outstanding menu. read more

I ordered a phantom Italian sandwich, the sandwich definitely has potential I had to search for the meat the meat bread ratio is not sufficient and to pay $15 for a sandwich I would like to at least taste the meat instead of a tasting like a vegetarian sandwich. I have not been disappointed by any sandwich that I've tried (personal faves are the Colorado BLT and the Apache) I only gave them 4 instead of 5 because they're pretty pricey. I happened to be in town this beautiful morning and hung over to say the least. And I need something to soak up all that drinking from last night. Did a little digging and found this gem. Clean joint, had the dodger game and was greeted with a smile. Let them know it was my first time and I was in between a phantom salami or beef 2 bomber. The guy making the sandwiches said I needed the salami, and Indeed I did. Finished the whole thing and the nicely packaged pickle. Hey guys it's not a 5 YET. Will definitely return to give that 5. Our second time here and the sandwiches were great! It's a little out of the way, but the sandwiches are a good portion. The croissant I had in my sandwich was so delicate and buttery! Yum! It's Boars Head so it's a few dollars more than traditional sandwich shoppes. The staff has always been nice, restroom clean. Happy to be able to use their high chair! The food was great. The dinning area dirty; the floor was unswept and multiple tables needed to be wipe down. When we asked the dark headed girl behind the counter she gave a begrudgingly attitude and than proceeded to wipe down the table haphazardly by just pushing the food from her cloth onto the floor. We were looking for someplace new to eat lunch and I found the Desert Deli on Yelp. ATMOSPHERE: Small deli in a business park. Seating is limited so take this into consideration when dining during busy meal times. They have a large television on the wall but the sound was not so overwhelming that normal conversation was interrupted. STAFF: Very friendly staff who worked together to get orders delivered. They also seemed to know their regulars which adds a nice touch to customer service. FOOD: They serve Boarhead meats and have an excellent sandwich menu. Feel free to ask for customizations on your sandwiches and salads. The bread on my sandwich was the perfect meld of crunchy on the outside and soft and tender on the inside. The meat was delicious and their spicy sauce was a perfect blend of flavor and heat. Their chip selection includes something for everyone and they have both fountain and prepackaged drinks. I wanted to try their smoothies, but their sandwich portions were so generous that I wouldn't have had room. Maybe next time. read more

I have ordered from here a couple of times but coworkers take turns picking up. Today I went to pick up and the wait was way longer than stated online (about 30 mins more) when we ordered. I get it though, rush hour gets crazy. No biggie. However, the employees were all wearing gloves but not changing them between stations. The lady at the register was using the ipad, packaging orders and handling food all with the same gloves- I watched closely! Also the cook by the stove had her hair down and flowing- wiping her nose with her wrist-touching the ends of her gloves and not changing gloves or washing her hands. I did not tell the employees as the place was packed- but gross and unsanitary. I did not eat my food as I did not feel like the food was handled well and it's not cheap. This wasn't my first time at the desert deli. Their food is a good option, but their service needs a lot of help. I like to support a local small business and if it's veteran owned even better, but I have had three visits that have had problems. Twice I have ordered a sandwich that does not include peppers according to the menu, but hot peppers were put in the sandwich which made it inedible. I don't eat hot peppers or the taste of them. This last visit today though disappointed me further. I visited at a very slow time for them and order one sandwich combo. Well there were four employees that I could see just talking about personal stuff, but my order was not getting started. I waited about five minutes to see what was going to happen. One employee finally went back to the cooking area and saw that my order was not started and told the cook. I asked if the order had not been started yet and she was going to lie but then realized she couldn't because I saw and heard what happened. She apologized and prepared my order quickly. Small businesses survive by giving great service and an excellent product. This will probably be my last visit. I hope they read this so they can survive read more

Absolutely the best pastrami sandwich I've have in a very long time! I took it home instead of eating there and my pastrami was even wrapped in tin foil as well so it actually stayed very hot to enjoy it at home. Not much takeout not a days stays piping hot by the time you get it home but my sandwich from Desert Deli sure did! The wife had a fighting falcon and was very happy with her sandwich as well!
