That's not how it's done. A contractor gets paid after the work is satisfactory.

I was recommended ServPro by another company who didn't do attics, I explained what was going on. I indicated that I wanted to have someone come out and do an inspection and talk to me about how serious it is. I indicated that I was planning on replacing the roof within the next 10months, and was hoping to get input on what needed to get remediated, and when, and if the mold was in the trusses enough, i those needed to get replaced, did they have the number of an engineer I could talk with. They said, "Yes of course of course, we'll send someone out tomorrow morning. But just so you know, our initial visit is $250". I'm thinking that's okay, I'm going to get an expert out here and get some good feedback and guidance and figure out what to do. NO. They send some kid who doesn't say two words, gets up in the attic, takes a few pictures.. DOESNT even take a specific picture of where the mold is bad the trusses that I pointed out.... and is gone in 10 minutes. Absolutely horrible. Summit was on this list and ready to aid me in restoring the home to be even better than it was before. They came and did a walk-through and gave me a quotation which seemed reasonable considering the damage to the primary suite bathroom and bedroom. I decided to upgrade the flooring from the original carpeting and had them put in vinyl plank which looked great. Cody was our project manager and he did a great job of keeping me updated considering I was managing this project from a distance as I still had my own house, job, etc., to consider. I worked with Lonnie, Robbie, and Donovan and they were all very helpful and were careful to minimize disruption as I was still working on some things within the house. I appreciated that they cleaned up after themselves (I mean everyone should) but they took care to do that and I was really pleased with the end result. Looking for a carpet cleaning company that could extract the water, I called Blue Truck at 5pm on Sunday evening and Reuben was at our house within 30 minutes. He extracted the water, removed the padding and left his fans to help dry out the carpet. He saved the carpet in both rooms and knew someone to replace the padding once everything was dry. We then had him clean all the carpets in the house and they looked great. I would highly recommend Blue Truck for their excellent work and customer service!
