Rougly June of 2025 the came out to fix 2 6 - 7 inch pipes for my well to the well tank. $600.00 and it still leaked then cane back and fixed 1 of the pipes and left. It still leaked called and said he'd come back that day and never showed up. read more

Then we were rescheduled for Monday between 2 and 4 PM, my son took off work in the afternoon to meet the plumber and we got a call last minute that said that they wouldn't be able to make it today and wanted to reschedule. Long story short, my son got hung up on after he expressed some concern. Interestingly if you read the other negative reviews it looks like this company likes to hang up on their customers plus looks like they lie about receiving emails. Derry Plumbing replaced my toilet, but when I received the bill, there was an unexplained $229 charge for my apartment being "unsanitary." This makes no sense--plumbers deal with unsanitary conditions as part of their job. If my apartment was truly an issue, why did they proceed with the work in the first place? To make matters worse, they billed the condo association, and I had already reimbursed the association for the plumber's fee, unknowingly covering the extra $229 since it wasn't itemized on their bill. Can anyone logically explain why a plumbing company would charge such a fee without informing me beforehand? It seems absurd, considering that handling unclean conditions--like sewage and other waste--is literally their job. It feels like something straight out of The Twilight Zone--there's absolutely no logic to it. Has anyone else ever experienced anything like this? read more

I contacted Derry P & H to replace the cartridge in my main bathroom shower mixing valve. Got an appointment quickly, they were extremely nice on the phone. The job didn't go quite as either of us planned but they were extremely professional in dealing with the issue and I would certainly recommend them. read more

My water heater blew up and In this day and age (with backordered parts and staff shortages) Dave rearranged his crew's scheduled to get us hot water again. He sent Ryan and Aaron to do the job and they killed it! They were extremely efficient and proficient. And this was not your average residential water heater.. Nice job guys. Our hot water coil on our oil furnace was cogged up and we had just a trickle of hot water. Our regular oil guy told us it could be a week before they got to it. We called Derry Plumbing and Dave spent time with me on Facetime looking at the furnace, checking the well pump and basically doing everything he could not to take my money! When he determined we needed a new coil, he had it in stock and his guys were out here the next morning. The guys that came out were polite and professional. I called for an estimate for a new furnace and central AC first online schedule to come out, no show, second called schedule to come out again no show and we had to call and they said the got stuck in the show room and couldnt make it out, couldnt even call to come out. finally they reached out to us, we decided to give them one last chance, they were due to come out at 10:30, 11:00 came around no one came, no call to say running late, my husband texted and said three strikes your out. i have never worked with a company with such terrible customer service skills. they have commercials boasting there company and customer service skills. i would never recommend them ever. read more

Mike and Christian replaced old tub with new shower. Excellent work, meticulous craftmanship. Came on time, worked straight through, cleaned up each day. Helpful in explaining the plumbing in house which we recently purchased. Always presented choices as to how we wanted the shower, the fixtures, setting temperature for the shower to suit us. Will use Derry Plumbing again. Old furnace replaced, again professional skilled workman. Explained what they were doing and how this would impact on the heating/air conditioning. Again his comment regarding warranty could be interpreted as threatening. The only copy of the contract we have, indicated the installation of a different system. The owner insisted on revising that contract but we never received a copy of the revised contract from him per our request. All of the points in our review are supported by emails and witnessed conversations. As far as his comment regarding payment it should be noted that the job was completed on Friday and the 8% balance was mailed on Monday. We don't understand why it's so difficult to receive a copy of the revised contract, name make, model and warranty information on the system that was installed by this company. This just underscores our review and our caution when dealing with this company and owner. read more

When they say $99 to come look they really mean just the drive. Diagnostics are an additional $129 for having done nothing. For me a drop in a bucket ... for a elderly on fixed income this is sleezy. That's a couple weeks of groceries for some. read more

While it took some time to get underway ultimately it came out lovely and the plumbers I worked with especially Mike where friendly professional and do great work. I used this company in Sept. 2018. My request was to get a hot water heating furnace that hadn't been operated for 5 years checked out and whether it was worthy of firing up. I know it was my mistake of accepting a verbal quote and not requesting anything in writing, but to be fair, he didn't offer a written quote either. All of the pressure relief valves and other coupling on the furnace had burst due to what water had been left in the system when shut off which would have to be replaced before being able to use the furnace again. I told him not to do anything about any leaks in the piping throughout the house, that I would make all those repairs. His verbal quote was $800 and I gave him a key as the house was empty at the time. He said it would likely be an all day affair, a Friday. Monday, I was there working on other things and his employees showed up. They had replaced all the valves and coupling and told me that they did three repairs on leaks on the first floor baseboard heaters. I told them they weren't suppose to do any of that work. Doing our talk, one employee said they had been there about 4 hours Friday, the other said more like three hours. After about another hour of doing a tune-up, they opened up the viewport and fired it up. They immediately shut it down and after poking around in the furnace with a rod and flashlight, told me that the inside firebox ,wall, whatever had failed and that they would have to disable the furnace before leaving. He called and talked with Dave awhile, then told me it would be around another $800 to replace the firewall. They had never opened the furnace and vacuum or visually inspected the chamber. The next day, he called my sister, the estate executor, and requested $1500 for the work they had done thus far. When she inquired about the increase, he mentioned the three leaks and that he gets $250 per leak. He quoted a replacement furnace for around $7-8000 with no allowance for work performed so far and that he considered himself to be in the middle as far as his pricing. We had the furnace replaced by live free for $10,000+. The newer systems don't need all the pressure relief valves and such, so that was all money down the drain. They stayed with us right up to the inspection by the fire department Telling my story to various fiends and Derry business owners, I kept getting told I should have asked them about him. They would have told me to stay away. I was also told he use to sell used cars, though I can't verify that. If you do deal with this company, make sure you protect yourself with a scope of work contract, and get other quotes. read more

Called with what seemed to be a bad zone valve. My thermostat would be off and my condo would still be extremely hot. Called Derry plumbing and heating, as recommended by my property management, asked prices, 800 dollars to pur in a valve with just a knob, i asked price to have valve with use of thermostat the only answer i was given was "drastically more expensive". I had them replacr the valve this past weekend with the knob. I have had it turned off and temps are still the same as before, extremely warm. Called to see what could be done as i paid 800 to fix it, and i just got the run around for answer. Seems scam like to me. read more

Dave Benedict ripped me off to charge $368 to send 2 guys to be here for exactly 40 mins. in May to: 1) to switch out parts (that I already had) for my dog grooming tub and 2) Pop in 2 guts of window A/Cs because their previous estimate for 2 ductless A/C's then suddenly couldn't be done until SEPT.. I already had the cases in and was 20 mins. for them to just put the guts in. I finished the rest too. I called him to complain that this was exorbitant and his response was, "do you know how much plumber's get?". He NOT only lost my business for the ductless but also for 2 toilets, 2 sinks and a jacuzzi tub. (Approx. $22K). I got all squared away with another company. read more

If you want poor customer service, and inappropriate foul language from the owner while discussing services rendered then this is your contractor. We recently had our HVAC system replaced. The wiring on the systems was sub par, and interfering with the placement of the hepa filter . I am an electrical engineer and qualified to recognize such issues. When I questioned the work done the owner was extremely foul with language and non responsive to the issues at hand. This company may give you a low bid, but will deliver sub par work and not stand by their work. Buyer Beware!! read more

I had a cracked brass fitting on my well system that was causing a very small leak. The technician diagnosed the problem right away but needed to order a new part. It took about a week for the part to be available and for the technician to return. This was fine since it wasn't an emergency situation. The people I spoke to at the office about scheduling were pleasant and helpful. The technician who came out for the actual repair (Mike) was professional and efficient. He kept me up to date on everything he was doing. After the initial installation was finished, he checked thoroughly for leaks and found one connection that was leaking. He spent another hour or so making sure the job was perfect. I am very satisfied with the work that was performed. read more

Five stars to this company they saved our lives today had to call at 7am this morning with a backed up sink got a return call 15 minutes later with the time they were able to fit us in. When they arrived they diagnosed and fixed the issue quickly and thoroughly! They over charge for basic installation for a toilet.....I just need a toilet remounted after getting the floors replaced... They charged me $429.00...which I found to be very pricey for the work involved....The Plumber they sent out was unalbe to reinstall my pedestal sink because he claim the faucet was wrong, So I had to do it myself which is working just fine....Buyer beware....I will never call these people again or recommend anyone else to call them.....VERY VERY BAD read more

We just experienced a frozen baseboard heating pipe. I called several plumbers and was told the wait would be 5-7 days to get someone out. Called Derry Plumbing and Heating. Very nice girl on the phone took my number and would call right back. She did in about 5 minutes. Told me someone could come out the next day. Technician Sean showed up 1 1/2 hours early. Found the split in the pipe, cut it out, replaced the section of copper pipe then filled and purged the heating system. Everything was done great. Cleaned up after himself. Very very satisfied. Unprofessional. They never completed our air conditioning installation and blamed it on our thermostat, which they inspected prior to installation. Our electrician is telling us they should have had an electrician assisting during the install. Derry Plumbing & Heating has been amazing to my family! We have had to use them twice in the past 2 months. First was for a new well pump & tank. The owner was so great, explaining everything to us, and quickly sent someone out to take care of it. Not long after that our old water filtration system died and needed to be replaced ASAP. Again, Dave understood my concerns about the water (we have little kids in the house) and handled it as quickly as possible. Even 20 inches of snow didn't stop them from coming out to install an amazing filter! Every time they came they were polite, professional, and answered every question I had (which was a lot!). I wanted to give you folks a heads up on a plumber I had some problems with recently. His name is Dave Benedict and he uses three different company names. They are Derry Plumbing, Londonderry Plumbing and Salem Plumbing. I needed a new steam boiler. He matched a price from my lowest bid. I went with him because he spoke about how my furnace needed a sprinkler head above it to meet code regulations. (The other bid did not include this.) I had a conversation with Dave and let him know there was sheet rock above the furnace area. Did I still need the sprinkler valve? He said "YES" since the furnace was not walled in, it needed the sprinkler head. He gave me a verbal description for his quote but not a written one. This was a mistake on my part because he could change it at will (and he did). After the furnace was installed, he told me that it needed a new auto water feed valve that would be another $589. He said that he informed me of this at the very beginning. I do not recall any discussion of it. If I had known the additional cost I would have gone with the competitor. I think I was involved in a Bait and Switch. The other lowest bid came from Paradigm Plumbing. It included the auto water feed in the written price quote but not the sprinkler head. After the job was completed, I realized Benedict had not installed the sprinkler head. When I first questioned him on the missing sprinkler head, he told me because I had the sheetrock I didn't need it. This was the exact opposite of our earlier conversation. When I questioned him on charging me for the water feed, he got belligerent with me and would not reduce his price. He did say he would install the sprinkler head but has not done it as of yet. He also informed that he would take care of all the necessary permits. I called the Town of Derry to see if permits were pulled. The answer was "NO". This was another lie on Benedict's part. I would not recommend Dave Benedict (Derry Plumbing, Londonderry Plumbing and Salem Plumbing.) to anyone. I hope that all of you will remember his name and his companies and tell your friends to stay away from this plumber. read more

Agree with another reviewer here who commented about poor customer service by the owner Dave. After the work was done at my unit, I called asking for an explanation of the charges and to question why it was higher than what I was lead to believe initially. Dave goes on the offensive from the get go. "You have a cheap piece of plastic crap called a faucet and you should be glad we repaired it instead of installing a new one"...these are his actual words. Listen to the reviews!!! Awful company. We had no water for almost a week. The owner didn't call back, said he'd come out and never showed, finally sent someone, they came to fix it the next day. Did a temporary fix for $500 since "the part wasn't in". We then find out he could have gone to the town and got the part for free and done the project correctly. When I confronted the owner, Dave, he YELLED AT ME! Yes, this company feels yelling at women is acceptable. When I confronted him kindly about the part being available and him not taking advantage of that, he yelled things like "you don't know what your talking about" "get that out of your head" "NO! NO! You are making stuff up". How this human has run a business this long is beyond me! When I said "you are upset because I called you out" he proceeded to yell "I don't even want to talk to you" and hung up on me. Not to mention the workers who came, one was just rude and extremely cranky. So this company took advantage of us not having water. Tried to squeeze as much money out of us as possible. I called this company to replace a kitchen faucet. They sent over two very young men.. one of which was clearly inexperienced.. but they did get the job done. However, they ended up breaking one of the other pipes under the sink so water leaked everywhere including into my basement. The pipe was completely separated from the bottom of the sink. I called them back on Friday night.. and never got a return call. I called them again on Saturday and the owner basically said the pipes where old and had nothing to do with his work. I just had the entire kitchen redone, including all new PVC pipe 8 years ago. I offered to pay for the repair itself.. if he would waive the 69 dollars service fee you pay just for them showing up. He wouldn't even meet me in the middle on this! He was very rude to me, and basically said he wouldn't come over to fix this if I "threatened" him with an honest review of these services. Needless to say we won't be using this company in the future and I recommend you stay clear of them as well. read more

Called them to replace a broken drain in my kitchen, they are prompt, but charged me an outrageous $500 to replace a drain.. took him about an hour. Pvc is not expensive. Then he replaced 2 valves for another $200???? Stay away from these thieves. Unfortunately my plumber was out of town, He called me back and told me he would have been around $300.
