Katy Construction and Remodeling installed a stand alone tub in our master bathroom. We encountered…read morea problem after the job was completed. When we turned the water on to fill the tub, the water leaked from underneath the tub. It turns out the tub drain is completely disconnected and snapped. Tub is not secured and moves whenever any amount of force is applied. In addition to plastic nut snapping, accordion style drain pipe is not connected in to trap adapter, but rather loosely is sitting inside the pipe like an air break on a washing machine. We reached out to Jason multiple times to address the issue. His response was the tub is installed correctly. However, we were told by several plumbers that the tub was definitely not installed correctly. Very disappointing experience with this business.

(See my review of how terrible they were - especially their owner - by looking up reviews of Space City Plumbing.) 5M Plumbing came to the rescue and the father and son team definitely knew what they were doing and they saved the day. They fixed the broken pipe, helped to clean up all of the mess created by the first crew. I will always call them FIRST in the future. I found Tubnotch on google while looking for a solution to renovate some old bathrooms in my house…read more Out of 4 companies I contacted, Tubnotch was the most responsive, professional, and flexible company by a long shot. I was put in touch with Jason Mendes who graciously gave me his cell number which I really appreciated as it made it super easy to communicate. Within a few days Jason was able to come to my property and give me a quote. The price was competitive compared to other quotes I got. I was able to schedule work promptly. The team was awesome! They arrived on time and worked till 7 pm each day. Their work is AMAZING. When my wife and I saw the end result of an old bathroom being refinished, ours jaw dropped. Big thank you to Jason and team for the outstanding work!

TubNotch Renovations doesn't hold to their word! After leaving my original 2 star review, I had…read moreissues with my counter. I somehow scratch it and had to call TubNotch Renovations to see about getting it repaired. I didn't ask for it to be repaired under warranty, and I ask how much the repair would be. Jason called me back and said under the circumstances he would have it repair at no charge. He wanted me to be a happy client. Then he mentioned my review. We discussed it and Jason wanted to make things right. He said he would schedule a repair man to come by. Several days went by and I hear nothing. When I called, they wouldn't answer my call (they have called I.D. and the phone operator evidently didn't want to (or was instructed not to) intervene. Jason called me back and said "yes, he was going to schedule a repair guy to come out but we needed to talk about my review". WOW, now I'm being blackmailed. He will only repair my counter if I remove my BBB review. I told him I would be willing to update my review once something had been done to take care of my countertop. As of now, nothing has changed to warrant an edit. He again said he would get someone out but it never happened. It's been over a week and they now won't answer or return my call. I've ask for information about the owner and didn't get an answer about that information either. I don't know if they don't want me to talk to the owner or it the owner doesn't want to be bother. I feel I have made a huge mistake refinishing my countertop. It wouldn't have been that much more (because it's such a small area) to have stone or granite instead. I thought I was having problems because the refinish is just too fragile. But in speaking with another company, it seems as thought it has to do with how it's refinished. He said his countertop can be used as a cutting board. So it appears TubNotch Renovation put the color down, then the following day, the glaze. This can cause a chemical reaction and/or the surface not to be as stable as when the glaze and color are mixed together. Apparently, the refinishing process can be done several ways and if not done right it can really cause problems. I don't know TubNotch Renovations' process, but I do know they don't stand by their work. A company that won't return calls (when work is under warranty) is a red flag that they might not be a Top Notch company. If you are getting a countertop refinished, beware, if you are not happy and give a review that reflects that, the company may not want to provide ongoing service (even if under warranty -- which my bubbles would be under warranty). At least this is my experience with TubNotch Renovations.

I submitted an online request for a quote. Let me first say I absolutely hate doing online requests…read morethat ask for your phone number. It never fails to put you on an annoying sales list with harassing phone calls. Well guess what, it finally failed! Brian Carpenter with Texan Roofing respected my wishes and contacted me first via email (they actually ask preferred method of contact). After a pleasant email exchange describing my roofing needs Mr. Carpenter asked for permission to call me. Blown away is an understatement. I mean seriously, I am actually being treated like a living, breathing human customer. All jokes aside its greatly appreciated to have your preferences respected. So Mr. Carpenter calls up and the conversation continues. My wife (the decision maker) is listening into our conversation and I could tell she was impressed with his vast knowledge and straight forward comments. We make arrangements for Brian (yes by now we were on first name basis) to come out and inspect the roof. Hang up and the first words out of my wife's mouth were "we are going with that guy; I don't care what it costs". Now this would normally be an issue for me but the wife does have a great gut feeling. The day before the inspection Brian reaches out to confirm. Awesome, I tend to forget things because I'm getting older and I refuse to write things down because I don't want to admit I'm getting older. Inspection day arrives, Brian sends a text letting us know he is about 30 minutes away. Communication is huge in my book if you could not tell. Brian arrives, does the inspection and confirms its best if we replace the entire roof. I'm picky, my wife and I wanted a very specific look and color. Brian showed us samples, walked us through the entire process and took his time to ensure we had no lingering questions. We picked out our scheme and signed a contract a few days later. At this point I'm expecting a delay due to supply chain or labor shortage. Nope! I was wrong again. Brian got back with me and scheduled the removal and installation for the following week, assuring me it would be complete in no more than a day and a half. Install day arrived and the workers were knocking on the door at 7 AM on the dot. I was in shock, everyone is there on time and ready to work, and work they did! My roof is not small but not gigantic either, by 9 AM they had removed the entire roof and started replacing bad decking and laying down the underlayment. So what happened to the mess created from the tear down? They were cleaning up the debris as they worked. Weird concept to keep the customer's property clean during the roofing process. Sadly, I had to leave for work and could not enjoy the progress in person. Later that evening after the sun had set Brian called to inform me they were unable to complete the job in 1 day. They were 10 feet short on the ridge vents. Seriously? That's the only issue? Not a problem at all. But now I'm anxious to rush home, inspect their work and strive to find something wrong. On the last roof we had replaced I was finding nails and debris for months, so I knew what to look for. I got home, pulled out the flashlight, walked around admiring their work and getting upset with myself that I could not find any debris. No crew is really this good. Well guess what, I was wrong a third time. The next morning, I woke up and did another inspection with full sunlight. The Texan Roofing crew really IS THIS GOOD! Due to the roofs age our insurance premiums were higher. I submitted pictures of the completed roof along with an invoice showing when and who did the work. My insurance agent was highly impressed with the quality of work and even mentioned I got a great deal. To have my insurance agent commend the job Texan Roofing performed made me thrilled and overly satisfied. See my wife and her gut instincts are pretty damn good. Yes, I highly recommend Brian Carpenter and Texan Roofing for your roofing needs! Don't believe me? Read the other reviews, then reach out to them.

They are fantastic people to work with, are the most fair and honest contractors, and they do a beautiful job at building a home. My husband and I built our dream home and they made everything about it just perfect! I would build a home with them again and again! I highly recommend them. About the negative review - don't believe a word of it. That is the person that purchased our dream home from us and she is...difficult. To correct or expand on a few details: I personally have emails where I provided her paint colors for the house. Extras of the flooring and materials were *not* flooded in the garage during the hurricane; they were safely tucked in the attic, a fact I also shared with her. They still owe us overpaid property taxes from closing but she refuses to pay us (another fact I can back up in emails). Karla had no obligation to "fix" items that weren't even a real issue, yet she still sent someone to the house to fix small things - for free. And yet, somehow a negative review exists. It's really a sad situation given that Savannah did more than what they were obligated to do, yet they're getting a negative review from it. I hope the facts from the other side of the story are helpful. I highly recommend them if you're looking to do a remodel or build a new home. You won't find more stand up people to work with.
