I first want to refute the negative review by "Jin L" and share my experience with Savannah Construction. I built a home with them in 2016 and had an AWESOME experience! They are fantastic people to work with, are the most fair and honest contractors, and they do a beautiful job at building a home. My husband and I built our dream home and they made everything about it just perfect! I would build a home with them again and again! I highly recommend them. About the negative review - don't believe a word of it. That is the person that purchased our dream home from us and she is...difficult. To correct or expand on a few details: I personally have emails where I provided her paint colors for the house. Extras of the flooring and materials were *not* flooded in the garage during the hurricane; they were safely tucked in the attic, a fact I also shared with her. They still owe us overpaid property taxes from closing but she refuses to pay us (another fact I can back up in emails). Karla had no obligation to "fix" items that weren't even a real issue, yet she still sent someone to the house to fix small things - for free. And yet, somehow a negative review exists. It's really a sad situation given that Savannah did more than what they were obligated to do, yet they're getting a negative review from it. I hope the facts from the other side of the story are helpful. I highly recommend them if you're looking to do a remodel or build a new home. You won't find more stand up people to work with. read more

This company is very unprofessional and irresponsible. I am disappointed in their lack of professional integrity. I purchased a home in May which was built by Savannah two years ago. The home inspector found several issues which concerned me. I called Savannah many times. I finally spoke with Karla Nieves. I did not ask them for repairs. I just wanted to go over some of the issues and understand what they did so I could figure out if it needed to be fixed. The extra hardwood flooring and other materials were flooded in the garage during Harvey. I asked them for the paint colors for house and brand and model some of the items so I could buy extra to have on hand for future repairs. Karla spoke with me for a long time and said she would follow up with me the following week. That was seven months ago. I have emailed and followed up several times since without an answer. We spent a lot of money on our new home. It is very concerning when the builder doesn't reply and have no regard for a home they built. read more

Warning...to anyone considering doing business with Savannah Construction also known as Savannah Home Builders or S.C., Paul Nieves owner. S.C. did not complete our contract at the price negotiated nor at the time frame agreed upon. This project was an 8000 sq. ft. buildout of our new Galleria upscale Salon. Because of the trust and relationship we had, I unwisely paid him his last draw before he finished the work and he never returned to the job. As result I incurred an additional $85,000 to finish the buildout using other contractors and for rental damages. The A/C system was so botched up we had to add three additional units. We used an AIA Small Commercial Contract which referred to specific plans and specs and was specific on the time frame and the cost. A third of the way through the project, S.C. said its subcontractor did not bid certain items in the contract and that there would be a change order even though those items were in our contract. I was annoyed, but time was of the essence, so I moved forward. Then week after week, Paul presented more and more (change orders) that he said his subcontractors did not account for. I was faced with coming to a halt and suing S.C. or just bite the bullet and pay for the errors of S.C.. In addition, S.C. cut corners and used subpar materials than what the contract called for. Paul said he would warranty his work for 1 year, however, since he never responded after the last draw, I do not assume anything has a warranty. Finally, we had to secure our own Certificate of Occupancy even though our contract called for S.C. to do so. I would not recommend S.C. for commercial work. Ross A read more

Working with Savannah Construction was a dream come true! My first meeting with Savannah was January, 2016, as we were interested in buying a new home that Savannah was in the process of building in Bellaire with customization options. While we did not change the floor plan of the home we were able to customize almost every single aspect of the fixtures and interior from cabinets, to floors, to counters (even knobs & pulls, tiles, you name it)! From the minute I met Karla Nieves and her family I knew we had found the right builder. Karla is extremely honest, detail-oriented, kind, patient, accessible, responsive, and caring. One of my favorite aspects of working with Savannah was that the company is truly a family-run operation, and that ultimately made us feel like part of the Savannah family too. Karla and her staff care deeply about top-quality construction and client satisfaction. Her husband Paul Nieves once told me that they treat the construction of every home as if it were their own, and it's true! We had a few drainage issues on our lot after moving in at the beginning of July, 2016, and Savannah worked tirelessly to make sure everything was properly resolved in a timely fashion. Most builders are very hard to find once they receive their final payment, but it was the complete opposite with Savannah. They worked just as hard, if not harder, AFTER we moved into to make sure our home was 100% perfect. Karla has a terrific eye for design which saved us a ton of money in terms of making fixture selections, something I am very thankful for! Savannah was also very patient with installing fixtures that weren't necessarily common options (Nest thermostats, a custom mailbox, a built-in wall safe, and a Ring doorbell - just to name a few). I simply can't finish out this review without mentioning Savannah's construction supervisor (or foreman/woman) Cristina Hernandez, who is equally as heavenly to work with. Cristina's job was to make sure all of the sub-contractors worked seamlessly together with respect to installing fixtures and finishing out construction. Her ability to manage so many moving parts at once (and with such a spectacular attitude) truly amazed me. She was attentive to all of our concerns (even things as trivial as microscopically chipped tiles), and handled everything with extreme grace. She still checks in to make sure the home is absolutely the way we like it! How many other builders can say that about any of their staff? The bottom line is that everyone at Savannah profoundly cares about their clients and the homes they build. It's a lifetime relationship that we are eternally thankful for! read more
