It was my first tattoo and I will not go back there again it did not show up the colors that I picked out me and my daughter got the same tattoo the artist didn't explain about the colors until after I got back for the touch up how small the tattoo was the color of my skin being out in the sun he helped me pick out the size of the tattoo I have not been out in the sun that's only been 3 weeks I could have decided to get it somewhere else on me besides my hand and keep the same size that I originally asked for he did not mention anything about any of remember they also do classes there too so that this is until I came back for the touch up being my first tattoo you think the artist would give me a lot of suggestions about what to expect if I would have known he had only been doing tattoos for 4 months I would have asked for more experience artist they only let you know about the good pictures mine does not look like anything I showed him or the colors and it's only two colors it's not even like a lot of them that you have to blend in if it's your first tattoo please beware and ask more questions read more

I started looking for this tattoo almost 20 years ago. Every place I went, no one could grasp my concept or they couldn't get the bull to look like anything more than a cartoon so I gave up. I recently decided to try it again. After meeting with other artists in the area and getting the same result, I got turned on to John. John listened to my concept, asked follow up questions and scribbled something on paper. He understood the concept and felt confident he could get what I wanted. I set the appointment (a month later - he is a busy dude). When I showed up for the session, he produced exactly what I was looking for. I was able to get in for a consultation the same day I called. This place is really clean, professional, and they have snacks and candy for customers. Jason Mims is the best!!!! He's kind, patient, and gave me something that completely blew my expectations out of the water. I was blown away by his Art! This was my first tattoo, and he gave me a lot of good advice, and pointers about exactly how certain tattoos fade as your skin changes! He's not interested in the money, but in you being satisfied not just now, but 5 or 10 years down the road. I'm definitely coming back to him for my next tattoo! My dad is going to be tattooed by him next week, that's how good he was! Best part about him was that he was willing to go above and beyond and stayed with my dad and me after my tattoo helping brainstorm ideas for my dad's tattoo. Overpriced and overrated. The ink bled through the nearby tissue making it look like a permanent bruise, details were not put into the tattoo and the ink didn't hold up where it was supposed to. When you get a new tattoo it should last for a while before it starts fading out, 3 months later mine looked absolutely washed out. And trust me, I took care of my new ink like a baby. Absolutely not worth the $600+ I spent on the piece. When I went back for a touch up and asked how the bleed out can be fixed, Chris didn't want to deal with his mistake. Potential is definitely there but not the enthusiasm. read more

I lived down the street from this shop for 5 years before I finally got up the courage to get a tattoo here. Super professional and great experience the whole way through, they have lots of great artists that specialize in a variety of tattoos. I sent the receptionist some reference pictures of what I was looking for and she booked me a consult with Jason, because of the bright vibrant colors I was going for. He was super friendly and professional and ended up doing two fantastic tattoos on me. The color has held up phenomenally even after a year. I had a tattoo done by John Clark and it is amazing!! I got a descent sized peacock on my upper arm. I had two pictures I gave him that I really like and wanted a little bit of both. He did an amazing job at combining what I wanted!! The color is so awesome! The tattoo was done in the time he quoted me and the price was not bad at all for what I got! The shop is very clean and the staff is all very supportive of each other's work which i find very admirable. I've always made appointments so I'm not sure how they do with walk ins. Well, after looking at tons of places in the Dallas/Fort Worth area to get a tattoo, I settled on Depiction. I was amazed at the level of quality in their online gallery and was really looking forward to getting a piece done while in town on business. Unfortunately, after several emails and a couple phone calls, no one ever got back to me. The piece I wanted was fairly simple and would not have taken much time, but no one could be bothered to help me schedule an appointment for consultation in the month I was in the Fort Worth area. I'm sure their work is stellar, but the customer service leaves much to be desired. read more

I was referred by a few friends so I was already expecting great things. Killer shop interior was the first impression. Love that they have private rooms in the event you are getting inked in a more revealing place. Tenley has a great personality even before I had physically been to the shop. Once I walked in I was greeted by her and another artist with a smile and hello. Some tattoo squads/shops/artists seem stand offish/not welcoming/all business but here they all are chill. Sam the one I was referred to, jumped right in to clarifying placement and her opinion with size and the art example I provided. Helps calm the nerves when they are personable. Too bad these guys are horrible at returning calls or emails, after various attempts at setting up appointments or even trying to get return emails, I finally gave up.These guys must be that good that they get to pick and choose who and when they work. I got my second tattoo at this place last summer and I LOVE IT! I have to say that this place is not the same as the other ones I have seen, when you first walk in, it doesn't look like a common tattoo studio, this place looks so neat, extra organize and clean! Awesome place! The studio is spacious, clean and looks great. All the staff are very nice. I have one tattoo by Sam and my wife has two by her as well. We are super happy with them. I get way more compliments on this tattoo than any of my others. Sam does high quality work and she works quick. Also it was the least painful tattoo I've had. The prices are good too. Good luck trying to get some work done here. Looking at their site, the work is pretty mediocre. Getting an appointment is impossible... nobody answers the phones, nobody calls you back, nobody emails you back from the website. They'll schedule a consultation for you when nobody is present. Very poor business practices... Not surprising for a little rented space in a strip mall. Wouldn't be surprised if this one closed soon. read more

Amazing!!! I am super impressed w/ everything about this place. My artist, John, was so nice and talented. He asked all the right questions to make sure I would get exactly what I wanted in my tattoo. It's small, but not simple. I did not know it was possible to put so much detail into a tattoo that size! The 3D effects he included are absolutely amazing. He was friendly, non judgemental, and put a lot of care and concern into his work. I am so glad I went to Depiction.
