Met this incredible tattoo artist by the name of Malachi at this shop (IG: @inkfulthoughts)It was by default only because he was recommended for his expertise with color tattoos. I have to tell you his customer service was phenomenal!! He was very thorough, knowledgeable and hella experienced. God knew what he was doing blessing me with such a great artist! They always have really great specials. Like Wednesdays is dollar piecing day. And the staff are always really down to earth and really funny. There's a $5 entry fee , which isn't much too ask . So if you're attending on a Wednesday you're paying $6 all together for a piercing . I've come to this location a few times and I've even sent and brought some friends and coworkers there. Depending on the day that you go, the lines are pretty long but the wait isn't long at all. It's straight to the point. What I don't like , and maybe it's just the artist that I repeatedly gone to. They don't or didn't provide any after care instructions. So I assumed that I'd care for them in the same manner for which I did previous piercings and tattoo. Some piercings heal better with saline water while others heal better with antibacterial soap. However, I have over 20 piercings and for my external piercings that aren't exposed to much moisture like my ears and nose rings has always healed better with rubbing alcohol. I was advised by a couple of piercers to stay away from alcohol because it dries out the piercings. Well I guess it's different strokes for different folks, because I've been using the saline solution and or antibacterial soap mixture as directed and after almost 20 years and 20 plus piercings later, I recently got my first keloid /piercing bump . Immediately I went back to what I know and started back using rubbing alcohol and the bump is going down . read more

I'm going to start this off by saying GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! Or, if you are going to come here, get tattooed by anyone else but the owner. I went in thinking I was going to get an amazing tattoo done by him. Now, I'm never one to normally speak up about situations because i'm a fairly soft spoken girl, or leave opinions on people, but this has been an absolutely horrific experience for me. I set an appointment with "OG poppy" aka the owner a week before I got my tattoo. I sent him a picture and asked him how much it would be. He said 300 which I thought would be a fair price for the tattoo I was wanting. I went in wanting two REALISTIC tattoos of tigers on my back, facing inwards towards each other. When I got there and walked into the back, I told him I didn't want them SO LARGE they cover my whole back, and I didn't want them to be too overbearing. Meaning I didn't want them to be so small and crowded that you couldn't tell it was a tiger on my back. None of those words means I didn't want them to look realistic. I will put up the pictures side by side of what I wanted and what he ended up giving me. So firstly I'll say it took him no more than 25 minutes to do my tattoo. He put on stencil, and didn't even give me a chance to look at the size, or placement of the tiger before he immediately started tattooing. He got done and I stood up and looked in the mirror. Now, from a far they didn't look bad just a little empty. He gave me no more than 5 seconds to look at my tattoo before he said "alright come over here and let me wrap you up". He wrapped me up, and in the room to the right full of other tattoo artists, a friend of mine was getting flowers done on her arm. I couldn't get it out of my head that I didn't really get a good look at my tattoo so I asked her to take a picture of it. After she did that and I sat down to look at it, I started immediately PANICKING. They look like two different tigers, the paws are literally nubs with claws on them, the stripes look terrible and unfinished, and they look like a 10 year old drew them. Immediately after that while i'm STILL SITTING IN THE SHOP while my friend gets her tattoo done. I texted him asking if he could bring me back in to touch it up and told him they looked unfinished. I told him the placement wasn't bad, and other things like that but , they were not realistic at all. He texted me back telling me "Yeah we could, can we do Wednesday". Keep in mind, it was a Saturday afternoon when I got it done, and i'm a college student/ athlete with a busy schedule but I wanted it fixed so I told him that was fine. After going two days of calling different tattoo artists who said it was a terrible tattoo, and that I basically got robbed out of 300 dollars, as well as some of my family members. I decided I did NOT want him putting ink in my body again and cancelled the appointment for him to fix it Wednesday. After I decided that, I texted him asking for a refund for my money because I paid $300 DOLLARS for this tattoo that is absolutely no where near the price I paid. Maybe a $100 dollar tattoo IF THAT. He told me "okay that's fine, but no refunds, you said you liked it when you left the room". Yeah, I said I liked it because I got a 5 second glance from it in a big, long, tall mirror that I could barely see it in. So not only did I not get my money back for this tattoo, I now have to go pay for it to get completely covered up. I'm 19 years old, and shouldn't be having to deal with worrying about having a god awful tattoo on my back for the rest of my life. And since he replies to all these reviews saying "don't let a nameless faceless person blah blah blah", HELLO! My name is Kenna Conner and i'm 19 years old and live in Fort Worth, and I suggest you DO NOT go to this place to get a tattoo.( I will say he was respectful in his messages & responded quickly, as well as I did too. I told him it was fine I couldn't get a refund because what else can I do? He already has the money.) But yeah, I suggest you take your money somewhere else. OH, and not only that, I sent him the picture of the girl lying down that has the design of the sun & butterflies on her back. After I texted him that tattoo wasn't worth $300 dollars, he said "you're right, I thought you were getting the spine piece as well, so I charged you for that" yet, he still won't give me any kind of refund, even AFTER I came in with a spine tattoo already on my back and TOOK my money for the "full tattoo" that I obviously didn't get because I already had one. It's been 10 days since I my double ear piercing by Jonique. I was referred to her by a piercer in Target who couldn't pierce me. I followed Jonique on IG and found out she was doing $5 piercing the next day. $5!!!!?! I went in thinking there was going to be a line out the door! (I even brought my earbuds in case there was.) I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived 20 minutes after the shop opened and was told I was 1st to get pierced. I paid $5 paperwork fee and was told to wait in my car as Jonique would be there soon. I waited about 30 minutes and received a text message she was ready for me. A little irritated that when I was escorted back there was 2 females ahead of me. Jonique made small talk and was strictly business as she pierced my ear. Shw was done in less than 10 minutes. You dont pick your jewelry and I was glad she didn't try an upsell me anything (like the ear cleaning solution I'm used to having to pay for after.) She simply texted me right then an there the instructions for caring for my ear with a simple homemade salt solution. She asked if I was paying with cash or CC. It totaled $30 ($5 for paperwork, $5 for 1st piercings, $20 for 2nd piercing). I have no complaints and will definitely be back for her next $5 piercings! read more

I wanted 3-4 piercings on my ear cartilage that would connect my lobe piercing to my cartilage piercing at the tip of my ear. The man was aggravated because I kept explaining what I wanted so he would understand. He erased the black dots he drew a few times. I don't know how he didn't understand what I wanted. After keeping up with King's craft for a little over a year I was ready to get some new ink. This artist has previously tattooed my lady, so I was comfortable with his work. She made our appt, then COVID-19, hit which closed EVERYTHING DOWN. We waited 8 months for this appt.... AND IT WAS DEFINITELY WORTH IT! As a small black business owner myself I diligently make it a priority to support other B.O.B (black owned businesses) & entrepreneurs. King is very professional, attentive, easy- going and a great listener. As I've only been tattooed by one artist I was anxious about this session. I mentioned that to him, so he reassured me that I would love my new artwork. I won't even lie his technique is so light & effortless I fell asleep part way through my first tattoo. My session all together took about 2.5 hours give or take a small break on my part. The shop was clean, organized, professional & very chill. Went in and paid for a tap out cover up/revamp session with Marcus @40_tatted, half way through he said he had family in town and needed to go and see them. I had already told him I wanted to get it done in 1 session thats why I did a Tapout session. After I left he never answered calls or text message. I called in and asked for a manager about 7 or 8 time. Every time I called someone took my info and said management would call. DAMN NEAR 1 YEAR LATER NO CALL FROM ANYONE, NO REPLIES, NOTHING. I went in on a Wednesday for the $1 piercing special. Let me start off with, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! The guy brought me in, asked what I wanted pierced and I said my tongue. I had it pierced before but took it out years ago for personal reasons so I know how a proper tongue piercing goes. Usually, they use a sterile single use individually packaged ring as well as have you rinse your mouth with special sterilizing mouthwash. This dude opened a draw full of all sorts of rings just thrown in the drawer. Grabbed a tongue ring, then proceeded to grab two latex gloves out of a box and DROPPED one on the ground but picked it up and STILL used it to hold my tongue out. That's fucking nasty. I asked him if he was serious and he said "yeah, you'll be fine." Luckily I'm anal as hell and wash the fuck out of my piercing and it has healed well but shit. The whole experience was just unprofessional and dirty. I would not recommend. You pay $1 for a piercing but $5 for paperwork to cover their ass if it gets infected. The paperwork literally says "most infections are caused by poor aftercare" Well guess what, most infections are ALSO caused by poor sterilization techniques. Never again will I go here or recommend. OG Poppy did my tattoo. I wanted a small fist/ sankofa bird tattoo. He almost gave me the wrong tattoo. I stopped him when he began placing the stencil. That should've been my warning of things to come. The line work isn't crisp, it's already starting to blow out and my color faded. Will NEVER return. This place needs to be visited by the THD. Went in almost 3 weeks ago for a nose piercing. I went back a week after I got it done as it was obvious the ring they used was too small and was told they use the same ones on everyone. Probably order them in bulk sizes which is why they do them so cheap. Had to have it removed tonight. Cartilage is messed up and was not healing. The needle was pushed thru at an angle and the ring used was metal, not non surgical. If you have never been, dont go. It is all about the hype. I went with a friend for $2 piercings and when I got there I found out there is a service fee and then a debit card fee and just for that I ended up paying $8 dollars then I got a double cartilage first of all they used a piercing gun . I just keep having trash experience here and it sucks because I hear good things but i don't see it. Made any appointment for last month 2wks out and three days before, I had to text and ask if were still good with the appointment. He said no because of covid. We had been sitting and waiting for him and he walked by us and said nothing. We had to speak to him first. ****I saw a tattoo get fixed for my friend and this post is from his words about his experience with Reddy Redd and the Kandy shop (Wife contacted REDDY REDD to complete a tattoo for me. Everything was good at first with Redd contacting back and assuring she would "sink that ink". I then offered $900 and to fix her computer for her to really hook me up. Redd used a pre scaled tattoo with no detail. Redd did not follow anything I wanted and just did what she wanted. I told Redd that I was not happy with it. Redd then tried to blame me for the tattoo and voiced that my skin was keloid and swelling so she could not complete the tattoo. I DO NOT HAVE KELIOD SKIN. Redd then got in her feelings forgetting that she chose all of the parts of the tattoo and did not go with any of my input I originally asked for. Redd then proceeded to use profane language to my wife to a point I had to call and speak with her about it. Redd assured that she would fix the tattoo as it was her word and she would contact back when it starts peeling. I left and went to Houston for family issues. When I came back I then texted redd right away and she ignored me. I sent a message redd did not like and finally she responded. To this date Redd has not contacted me back to honor her word. Her word is garbage if you let her scar you she will take the money and run. I called my friend I should have called in the first place. He said send me a pic, when he saw it he said I am on the way and flew down and looked at my tattoo personally. My friend went off about how Redd used the wrong needles to scar my skin and complained that the tattoo was among the worst he has seen. My boy said he needs to fix this now and called his friend to get a booth at his friends shop. He also asked me to stop by Dallas Arts with him and we spoke with his friend there who all confirmed the same. We then went to the shop to fix my busted tattoo up. My boy did STRAIGHT art on me and cleaned the whole tatto up , I do not think redd could have done it the way he did period. He told me and I quote, " do not **&^ ever let that MF touch you period I will fly down any time you need work". I decided to write this review as I want to let ppl know that while things seem good good she will and can *&^% over you at times as well. I was not in the right mind and considered showing up at the Kandy shop. But thanks to my boy and his wisdom he convinced me to leave it in the toilet where it came from and enjoy the new tat. He was right she is not worth it and I could care less now but I do not want others to go through what I did. All in all I would not recommend her or the Kandy shop period. My boy used 12-17 different needles and redd used only 3 which swelled me to cut down on time. It took her 4 hrs to %$% it up and took him 6 to fix it. he even free handed the whole thing and def am getting the rest of it he wants to do. Trust me do not do it your skin it is with you for life and people who do not keep their word do not deserve your money or time. when going to get my second ear lobe piercings. when he dude started he put the marker on and it looked fine. when he was done.my left ear piercing was high and away from my 1st hole. my right ear was the same height of my 1st hole. i have to take out my left piercing and re-do it somewhere else after it heals. A few month ago my friend and I went to get piercings. She got her cartilage and I got this little spot on my ear. Mine was very painfully and he had his headphones in the entire time he was helping us. It took about 30 minutes for the wait because everyone working there decided they needed a cigarette break. Well about a week later I went to the doctor and they had to cut the piercing off and drain it. The spot was so infected. Not only mine but my friends, as well. We went back and were told no refunds and the piercer told us it was our fault. He told us we didn't clean it properly or when he pierced it a hair may have gotten in it. We both cleaned them properly, this being my fifth piercing and already having 2 tattoos... I got the hang out how to clean it.
