I'll start by saying I also posted this on Google and stuff, but I cross post if I'm really into a place, and we genuinely had a great time here. But yeah, I'm copy and pasting from my Google review. Me and boyfriend were looking for a good piercing and tattoo place. I'm not originally from this area, so I'm always a bit weary looking for Queer friendly places, so it's awesome to find a spot like this that I can get regular tattoo work done, and my boyfriend loves his double helixes. In a conservative town, it really does mean something for the owner to come out and say that his shop is Queers safe and welcoming, and Booker is open about being Queer herself, and sadly it is still needed for people to be that outward about it to be totally sure the people are cool if me and my guy are going somewhere as a couple. I have to say, we lingered because Gil and Booker had us laughing so hard, dude gets you out of left field. Going to try his recs for Mexican and antique stores (I trust someone from San Antonio). Lots of places have good artists and professional piercing (they really do), but this is by far the friendliest and most welcoming place I've been to, having lived in Austin and San Antonio. We even treated ourselves to shirts, probably because Gil let us look at his zines and it was a pristine collection, so we needed a souvenir. Gil pierced my belly a little over a month ago, n he was awesome!! great guy, easy to talk to, very funny. shop had a great vibe. he explained the process in detail, made sure i was feeling ok afterward, n even replaced my piercing when the ball fell out earlier today. i'll be coming back in a couple months for a tattoo!! 100% recommend him!! read more

Last night, as a walk-in, I walked into Resurrection Tattoos last minute. I came off strong at first but Gil handled me well and offered his services right then which would require him to call the family and let them know he'd be late. My experience with Gil, came with great pricing, excellent work and good conversation. The shop was clean and tidy. The entire process was smooth and I am beyond satisfied with Gil's work. I recently visited resurrection tattoo studios to have my piercing removed. Gil, the owner I'm presuming, (not much of one) was extremely unprofessional and rude to me from the moment I walked in. After I had told him what I wanted he told me that if he were to use one tool it would be 10 dollars and two would be 20 I immediately let him know my budget of 15 dollars. He threw his hands up at me as in "what more do you want from me?" He asked if my jewelry was internally or externally threaded. I told him I wasn't sure and said "the standard one?" He cut me off and explained what each one meant to me like a toddler. Almost like he expected me to have the same knowledge as him, a "professional" Made me feel really dumb. He could have easily refused service in a professional manner but he threw a hissy fit before sitting me in the chair. The whole service lasted 2 minutes at most. If that's what you consider "everything under the sun" I wonder how you treat other unknowing customers wanting more than a simple jewelry removal. Go ahead and post the footage. I got my tattoo done on August 2, 2023. Walked into the shop and spoke to Gil about some ideas I had for my tattoo. He worked up an awesome design. Definitely will get the remaining tattoos done by Gil. The last tattoo shop I felt comfortable with was up by Seattle. The atmosphere at the shop is amazing. Very relaxed, with music playing, and can't even tell your getting a tattoo. Awesome artist and shop. Stop by the shop in Rendon if you want a good tattoo at a good price. read more
