Younger one is just at a year, and she fussed but she did pretty well. Nothing more than she would have for a shot. Bella was really chill, super good with my babes. Cool with us all coming in as a family and crowding her space. Friendly. They have a pretty cool space there, too. I guess it's a cash only place, that threw us off a bit.

My daughter said to email Sparrows and see what happens. I did and they responded same night and said Cody was down to tattoo me. I was super excited. The shop is amazing. The staff is super friendly and very attentive to all that come in. Cody did a fantastic job on my tattoo. I told him what I wanted and he amazed me with his vision and talent. I will definitely be driving the 7 hours back up for another tattoo.

My artist was not friendly or open to discussing design. They wouldn't let me back in the room to review while working on it and did not prep my air and shave hair in spaces of new tattoo was going. Not very communicative to me and appeared to want to stay silent the whole time. The check in girls were not welcoming either so no clue what to expect on how they run the process. Be aware of this if you choose to come here! (I am not a person who likes to leave bad reviews so it took me a bit to decide to do this.)

But yeah, I'm copy and pasting from my Google review. Me and boyfriend were looking for a good piercing and tattoo place. I'm not originally from this area, so I'm always a bit weary looking for Queer friendly places, so it's awesome to find a spot like this that I can get regular tattoo work done, and my boyfriend loves his double helixes. In a conservative town, it really does mean something for the owner to come out and say that his shop is Queers safe and welcoming, and Booker is open about being Queer herself, and sadly it is still needed for people to be that outward about it to be totally sure the people are cool if me and my guy are going somewhere as a couple. I have to say, we lingered because Gil and Booker had us laughing so hard, dude gets you out of left field. Going to try his recs for Mexican and antique stores (I trust someone from San Antonio). Lots of places have good artists and professional piercing (they really do), but this is by far the friendliest and most welcoming place I've been to, having lived in Austin and San Antonio. We even treated ourselves to shirts, probably because Gil let us look at his zines and it was a pristine collection, so we needed a souvenir. I'll stop rambling, but Gil and Booker, you'll see us both again soon.
