I have been looking at the artists at the Black Rose for a while now and have been wanting some ink !! My dad passed away at 64 in March so this was tragic for all of us. My family and I went to Black Rose tattoo for my son's 1st tattoo. We initially were ignored, then we met one of the co-owners. He was very nice, however, Natalie was supposed to do a tattoo for me, I paid the deposit, set up an appointment, sent the picture, the she went completely silent. She didn't answer my texts or calls. The night before the appointment she texted saying she had been busy. I asked if the deposit could be refunded, she never responded. The only thing I got from her was a load of crap in caps about the tattoo I had asked for. I also wanted a piercing, too. Annalise came out looked at my ear for about 10 seconds and told me my ears were too small. I was still asking questions when she turned her back and walked away. Needless to say, the deposits were nonrefundable. I suspect we would have received more respect if we had less melanin in our skin. We were mistreated lied to, and given completely outrageous prices for the tattoos requested. I wish them nothing but the best. I hope business thrive for them. We got our tattoos from others that wanted our business and had respect for us as customers. We will never set foot in Black Rose tattoo ever again, if you have people like this on your staff or in your studio, Spring cleaning is in order. God Bless you my brother. read more

Didn't get any service. Scheduled to have a tattoo done last week and the artist moved it because he didn't have time to draw it out. Then two days before the reschedule I get a text to say he had something going on with his schedule and asked if I could come to his apartment and infinite would draw the tattoo. It's not the part of I put $100 bucks down and I am out o the part of going to the apartment it's the part that tattoo was not drawn out yet. I said no I will find someone else because it just didn't seem like the dude was prepared and I was worried about it being a rush job. This shop is the coolest. The vibe here is a so laid back. I also really love how welcoming every artist here is. Everyone acted like we had known each other for awhile. My kind of place. In shops I've been in before, the artists sometimes act super standoffish. Not this place! Nobody condescended us for wanting finger tattoos (yes we know the risks). While we waited we were just looking at the fish tank and watching Hoarders. We are definitely planning on coming back to The Black Rose. read more

Kristina is just the best! Everything was amazing - the studio was the most comfortable I've been in. Do you have any idea what it takes for me to actually write a review on this thing? Ugh. I have to open the app. Find the place. Push the buttons. Type words. I either have to really hate some place, or really love it. I absolutely love The Black Rose. I live in north Dallas and three of my favorite artists in the city work here. Sara, who has actually tattooed me, and Kirstina and Alonzo, who I don't have tattoos from yet but their artwork is amazing. I don't mind the hour-ish drive to get work done here, and my next tattoos will absolutely be from here. First off. You walk in and you're like "oh nice. An aquarium. I like aquariums. " and then you notice the art on the walls. If I were a burglar I would steal these paintings for my personal collection. Secondly, everyone there is incredibly professional and easy to talk to. I've been to tattoo shops where the help( can we still say that in 2020?) barely helps, and portfolios look like a first year art students doodles. It's quite the opposite at Black Rose. Everyone I've interacted with is fantastic. All of the artists on staff are phenomenal at what they do. You should be so lucky as to get a tattoo from them. Do it. Stop thinking about it. Don't ask yourself if now is the right time. Just go get that tattoo. I have a terminal illness and my children and I were going to get matching tattoos, as I'm an artist and they wanted my handwriting, "I love you" along with my signature hummingbird. I was going to get 3 hummingbirds. My daughter called Monday morning to make an appointment for this weekend being my other two children are driving in from out of town for this. We know with this pandemic shop's time is very valuable, which is why we tried to make arrangements on Monday. The shop responded saying the artist will be in touch. Here it is Thursday and the artist barely responded. We already found another shop with an artist who is very compassionate about our story. So I guess it did work out for the better. read more

Was NOT A GOOD healing EXPERIENCE. I'd been thinking about getting a double nose piercing (one side) for a while so I decided to surprise my husband. I went to analise (piercingprodigy on IG) with the request and honestly I should have just stopped there.. at the request. The first nose piercing went in smoothly but she had complications with second one. It was so painful to sit while she tried to fix it. Only to not fix it. She told me prior to piercing that my nose may swell up more than usual. I expected some swelling, but I didn't expect there to not be any room for it... Five days later that same nose piercing that she had complications with of getting it on properly started to sink into my nose, I mean sink DEEP to the point I went up to two other piercers they didn't even know I had two nose piercings. When I told analise, she told me that she would not be into the shop today but to put a Band-Aid underneath the news ring to try to keep it from sinking. Unfortunately, I can't wear a Band-Aid on my nose to work so I told her I was going to see if someone else could look at it until she was able to be in on tomorrow to change out the bottom of the piercing, it was giving me great pain and I did not want to wait till another day. I went to two shops but ended up at Sparrows tattoo shop to take a look at my nose. He said analise made the mistake of piercing the same area with the same length of bar, which was very small, and despite analise telling me that she knew it would swell more. She still pierced my nose with a really small bar, or rather a normal single piercing bar (despite her, knowing it was two piercings in one area. It was going to swell more as she said....) I won't be going back here because not only did analise not want to refund me for the piercing or what I paid the other shop to fix her work, she did not have my best interest in mind when it came down to my healing process and knew she probably should have gave me a longer bar ..esp given I was going to have two holes in the same area on my face, and she did not. I had rawness under my nose and I was swollen over a long period of time cause I had no room to let piercing breath. Just poor judgment. This is on my face and idk about you but I need someone knowledgeable and doing what's best for the piercing. She was not. read more

This is the best place to go for a tattoo. The people here are so professional yet so chill. I have to say, I admit to being a bit nervous, but upon entering The Black Rose Studio, I felt so at home. The vibe as a whole is relaxed with a bit of class. The staff are the nicest and most welcoming ever! When waiting, the offer you something to drink and allow you to wait on one of the couches to either enjoy watching the giant flatscreen they have, or the giant and beautiful aquarium that is next to it. Everything is beautiful and cozy about this place. I got my first tattoo here and I will definitely be back for more! If there is any downside whatsoever to this place, it's the $100 minimum payment, but truly, if you're going to get a tattoo, have money for it. If you can't afford a $100 tattoo, then you don't need one. To end this off, The Black Rose Studio is a great place to go for first timers and experienced ones. From the moment I walked in to leaving the vibes & everyone working was so nice. I got my first tattoos here & my artist Gustavo(Gus) did a good ass job ! I made an appointment & sent him what I wanted & when I arrived day of he had some ideas that we could tweak to make my tattoos even better and more original . This is a great shop to get any type of work done . The people there are so great and make you feel so at home . The artist their are really passionate about their work and any type of inconvenience you have they will do their best to fix the problem. You can ask them a million questions and with a smile they will answer every single one. When someone wants a tat- they want one NOW. My regular place was booked so I tried this place. I should have run screaming in to the night when he said they charge hourly. Never seen that before. I figured it would be a 30-60 minute tattoo. Of course not- he made it in to 2 hours. He didn't do what I asked & over a week later it still hurts & looks horrible in one area. (Praying it's just slow healing in this one area... Yes, I followed the after care instructions.) This is my 7th tat btw. So now I have to let this completely heal- go to my regular shop, & see if they can do SOMETHING to make me happy. read more
