My daughter said to email Sparrows and see what happens. I did and they responded same night and said Cody was down to tattoo me. I was super excited. The shop is amazing. The staff is super friendly and very attentive to all that come in. Cody did a fantastic job on my tattoo. I told him what I wanted and he amazed me with his vision and talent. My first experience with this location and my last time. It is cash only and was not notified prior to signing paperwork; has ATM inside. My artist was not friendly or open to discussing design. They wouldn't let me back in the room to review while working on it and did not prep my air and shave hair in spaces of new tattoo was going. Not very communicative to me and appeared to want to stay silent the whole time. The check in girls were not welcoming either so no clue what to expect on how they run the process. I've come here for a several tattoos and I'm really happy with the results. From this shop, I have three smaller tattoos, two behind my ears and one on my ring finger, plus a large mural tattoo on my right side. All of them came out great, but the mural on my right side is what I'm particularly satisfied with. Bryan is an extremely talented artist and has great recommendations for anything you could possibly want done. I only went in with random ideas of my tattoo, and he configured it into exactly what I wanted! Large pieces are a huge commitment, so you want every detail to be perfect. It's been a few months now and my tattoos have healed beautifully! Colors are really saturated and line work is clean. I don't rlly like to write reviews but i literally got staph and MRSA from here, he touched someone else's tat that came into the room and the guy literally said "yo Cody the tat u gave me got infected" and he walked in and lifted his pant leg, and sure enough his leg has some shit going on, while he was setting up for mine (he knew abt the tat for at least a month, and was just now drawing it up) he literally touched it w his BARE HAND and then went out for a smoke w the guy leaving me waiting (even more :)) also this was the 3rd tat i got from this man and he straight up was late every time i would have to text him (or the receptionist would call him) "hey im here" and he would be like okay gimme 20 imma shower and head that way, which was intresting bc his BO was so intense there's no way he showered. anyways when he came back from smoking (i think weed honestly and me too but not when im abt to tat someone???) i don't see him wash his hands or use hand sanitizer after just messing w an infected tattoo and smoking(w the infected person), and yk we get started, i should've said something but honestly i didn't notice until i was already done and thinking abt the whole experience that it was weird, and then when i told him afterward and sent him a pic of the tat (infected) he literally tried to put the blame on a hair that got caught in the saniderm... when he was full palming one of his buddies infections... anyways, for those curious, it took like 3 months for everything to clear up, a lot of antibiotics, the drs even thought i was gonna need to go to the hospital, but they ended up lancing (cutting open) the mrsa infection and then squeezing some out but i had to continue to do that for MONTHS, i got this tat in feb 2021 and i was squeezing infection out until like late april, but yeah a good 3 months to get rid of everything, and now i have a nice sized hole in my tat/arm:) which im still waiting to fully heal over a year later, so no i wouldn't recommend this place in the slightest, the building is pretty sure, but every time i went there we're ppl constantly in and out of the room i was being tatted in, and maybe u don't mind that, i kinda do, the tattoo artist smelled funky, like i could literally smell his bo? and then he would be weird abt me getting tatted "u can handle the pain well" type of weird vibe, like not rlly "ur doing so well" in an encouraging way but like a skeeze way. Also just wanna touch on the fact he told me i got staph from "a hair in the saniderm" when literally talking to drs (bc i had to go to multiple bc of this) they said that that's not how staph or mrsa is contacted and it's through "cuts, scrapes, and SKIN TO SKIN contact" and Mrsa is "contact w infected people, or things that are carrying the bacteria" like yk when ur getting a tattoo and it's an open wound and ur tattoo artist full palms an infection and doesn't wash his hands :) Cody Clemmings was the artist I saw btw, i was gonna leave his name out but no. read more

I had recently gotten a tattoo from sparrows and have nothing to complain about. The lady at the front desk was very informational and friendly, and the environment is very welcoming. My artist who's name is Bryan i highly recommend. He was very helpful the whole time drawing up my stencil and helping me figure out what is best and giving me options to see what i liked as well. And just all in all he is just in general a really cool guy. His art work and the forearm piece he did on me i rate it a 10/10. I highly recommend sparrows and Bryan is the guy to go to. read more

Russell did my right Tragus. He's professional, clean, educated & has a great bedside manner. He wants you to be informed as well as happy with your piercing. I want to Sparrows to get my conch piercing jewelry changed Megan. The first time when she changed the jewelry(sterling silver) to the hoop she DIDN'T clean the jewelry before placing it in my ear. I woke up to a bump in my ear. I went back to Megan and explained what happened, she then put a titanium bar in my ear AGAIN she did not clean it (so unsanitary). After a couple of days the bump went down and I purchased some nasal rinse like I was told my Megan to help it heal. The bump then returned but worst. It was oozing and bleeding. I went back to Megan and she ensured me that if I put tea tree oil on it, within 2 days it would go away. I gave it a week. Still nothing. I went back and all she could say was "oh man I was for see that tea tree oil would do the trick, oh well" I asked her to remove it and asked if i could get it pierced again at no charge or discounted since she is the reason I don't have the piercing anymore. She looked at me crazy and asked if it was her fault. I said no kindly even though clearly it was and asked for the managers number. At the same time she was texting her manger and she put her phone done on the table to write down the managers number. I happen to look up and I saw in her phone "some girl wants a discount on another piercing because she had a bad reaction to jewelry." That's clearly not what happened but i left it at that and left the shop. I called the manager who also seemed to be rude and after I got off the phone with her, I thought would i really want somebody who doesn't clean jewelry or the area i want pierced for that matter to do anything on me, let a lot touch me. I decided to not go talk to the manager in person or every go back to that shop. Everybody has different experiences this is just mine. read more

Came by around 3:30pm an walked inside. There were several people already waiting. Looked around as no one was being helped only to find a few artists in their respective booths. I decided to call while inside to see if a phone would ring that would prompt someone to come to the lobby, but the line was busy thus no one ever walked out. As more individuals walked in, I waited patiently and watched about 20mins worth of some old Chris Farley movie before leaving to grab a bite. I came back after about another 30mins to find an artist outside on break smoking and 2 people (who were there when I arrived) still waiting to be helped still watching the movie in the lobby. They said the others got tired of waiting and walked out. I suppose business here is going so well that no one here needs any more money. read more

After waiting an hour and a half on June 21st, I put down a $100 deposit for a tattoo artist a month in advance for an appt on July 26th. When I called to confirm my appt the day before (nobody from Sparrow called to confirm), I was told the tattoo artist I reserved, Rhyder, no longer worked there. When asked why I wasn't notified, the bimbo on the phone said they would've just "figured it out" when I got there. I've requested my money back for services that weren't rendered and zero response. I wouldn't send anyone there. They are liars, cheats, and after multiple requests, still no refund. Went to blood moon instead and soooooo much better. Sparrow tattoo is full of scam artists. And if the "artist" I reserved quit that crappy, filth place of business, it becomes their responsibility to make it right, which they refuse to do. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and against that dill hole "Rhyder" that they made to sound the best in the business. Go to blood moon tattoo. Clean, efficient, and great work. This review is about piercing (I have never gotten a tattoo there so I can't review that). My daughter wanted second holes in ears for her birthday so I took there (not knowing Russell had left - which of course he wouldn't tell us where Russell had gone) about 3 weeks ago. The current piercer was awful. He was rude (total d!ck of epic proportions) and he told my daughter everything that was "wrong" with her ears (they weren't even, this one poked out, etc). Ummmmm, hello!? Who does that to a 14 year old girl!? He charged $80 for the piercing and used jewelry that was awful (seriously, you can get better earrings at Claire's). The earrings he used were wing backs (ummmm, why is a reputable tattoo/piercer using Walmart quality jewelry? And 1983 called - they want their earrings back) and caused a horrible infection. They were on so tight I couldn't pull off the back. I just took her to Russell (@ Sleepy Hollow in Rendon) so he could change out the earrings. Seriously, save yourself the money and go to Claire's! Or, if you're like me and want a quality piercing AND high quality jewelry go to Sleepy Hollow and see Russell. He's worth every penny! He's pierced my 2 year old ears and did this daughter's cartridge (as well as fixing these current piercings). I would follow him anywhere! He's THAT amazing! Stay away from the piercings at Sparrows. You'll spend twice as much because you'll have to go somewhere else to get their crappy work fixed! read more

Ridiculous pricing for a dime size tattoo that was only going to be an outline. $100.00 is absurd. Not many people want extravagant tattoos. My daughter wanted something very simple but endearing as her first tattoo. Will keep shopping around for places that do minimalist tattoos at a reasonable and more realistic price. I've been here twice for piercings, but never a tattoo. I got a standard nostril piercing done here a couple of years ago, but it was by someone that no longer works at this establishment. Went back about a month ago for and industrial piercing by Meghan. She gave a rundown of how it would go, but kind of skimped on aftercare instruction (however, I'm assuming this was because I told her that I had my nose done here as well). The price is steep, $80 because it's technically two piercings, but it's to be expected with the shop's reputation. But I don't mind paying the price because I know I'll end up something of quality. The prices do limit how often I can go here, but I really can't imagine going somewhere else. read more

Chris Judd was amazing. I got my first tattoo done by him, and I was getting three very big roses starting on my thigh and going up to my ribs. He was very helpful, patient and chill. It took about 5 hours, and cost $700. It was a very big piece. he did take breaks a few times to pierce some walk in clients. But it gave me a chance to recover. He didnt rush at all and make me feel bad for being a whiny baby when it hurt really bad. It healed up within a week and looks great (its been two months). A bit of the linework is a little heavy and maybe a tiny bit shaky (only if you stare), but I did wiggle a lot and my skin was shaking. If you are looking for a tattoo artist, go to Chris Judd. Easily the nicest tattoo shop I've been to, and well worth the drive (I live in Plano). I found Cody through Instagram and emailed him through his website to set up an appointment. He got back to me quickly, and not only had a drawing, but set up an appointment within a week. He was great about communication, and never complained about me texting him with questions (he even sent a text the morning of saying he was excited about the appointment). I got to the shop 30 minutes prior to my appointment, and he came out immediately with the design so that I could approve. The drawing was PERFECT and I couldn't have asked for better. Our session was about 3.5 hours long. He made sure to check that I was okay multiple times, played one of my favorite shows on Netflix as a distraction, and schooled me on Drake and other rappers (that I now love). The tattoo was practically painless (compared to others I've gotten). He made the experience fun, and relaxing, and I'm left with a one of a kind piece of artwork on my arm. I've been wanting to get my septum pierced for a while now and felt like I just needed to go ahead and get it done! After asking many friends, they all suggested I get it done at Sparrows. I came in around 6ish and went to the front desk. The process is pretty simple. ID, fill out form, pay, and then wait to be called. They only accept cash, but they do have a ATM in the back! After waiting about 5 minutes I was finally called by Megan. I just want to say that she was very kind throughout the entire thing. She made me feel very comfortable. She wasn't in any kind of rush and let me go at the pace I wanted before she put the needle in. She knew exactly what she was doing and I felt extremely confident letting her pierce me. I've had terrible experiences with piercings at other establishments, I highly recommend coming here. She explained how to take care of the piercing and gave me her card to contact her in case I had any questions, even saying I could come back in and ask her in person if needed! I'm very happy and would definitely recommend coming here if you want to get something pierced and ask for her. read more

WELCOMING: After reading how much tattoo artists don't like tattooing "newbies", I was nervous about how I would be treated. To make matters worse, I wanted it on my feet. A friend told me about Zack @ Sparrows, though, who was GREAT. He never once made me feel like I was an idiot for getting my first tattoo on my feet. Organizing the appointment and sending over my design was super-easy and he responded within a couple of hours every time I sent him a message. CLEAN: super clean shop. WORTH the $$$: This isn't the cheapest place. I wouldn't say they are robbing you or anything, but after I spoke to my friend, we both averaged $200/hr. Worth it, worth it, worth it. I never felt rushed and the work he did was perfect. My design was mainly straight, long lines, and they are perfect, even on my bony feet! If your tat is under $600, remember to bring cash. They have an ATM onsite but you can only take out $200 at a time. They do accept cards @ the front for supplies, though. read more

I researched tattoo artists all over DFW that did great floral work. I found Danny Elliott and was lucky that he had a last minute opening. He tattooed both my forearms and both turned out perfectly. He is also a very nice guy who went above and beyond to make sure it was exactly the way I wanted it. Everyone in the shop was helpful and professional. The shop is immaculate and I loved the private rooms. I have seen some of the work from the other artists and all of them do incredible work. You wont be disappointed. read more

Both employees were sitting on their fat ass and didn't bother getting up when I entered. The girl who also works here looks to be under age. .. I was told when I called I did NOT have to make an appt. When I arrived the girl who could do what I needed was a lunch and I had no other option but to wait 45 mins..
