One of the many problems in having a larger plot of land than most homes in a neighborhood development is the unbelievable amount of fencing surrounding said property. And worse homebuilders being homebuilders, use the cheapest methods and materials possible. In our poor fence's case wooden posts in concrete. Why is this a problem? Google it. So during the most recent storms, with days of strong windgusts, down come several sections of our fence. Now being the the typical homeowner, at first I pretended I didn't see the down fence, hoping that perhaps the wind would come from the opposite direction and like something out of The Wizard of Oz, would stand it upright again. No such luck. So I reluctantly turned to Yelp looking for a fence repair company. Of course every other person with 50 miles was doing the same thing making response times long, except for this company. Even with the onslot of phone calls he was getting, Harley called me back and came over the same morning to look at what the Wicked Witch had done. From our first contact I explained to him I was getting a bid, in trying to decide if i should do the work myself or have him do it. Knowing this he explained to me in detail the process of replacing a fence and gave me a quote on the spot. More important that the price, which was very fair, was that he happily answers my detailed questions about materials and methods, all the while knowing I was considering doing it myself. He even told me that materials would cost about half of the bid. After he left I priced out the materials and his advice of material cost was spot on. Now remember I'm a typical idiot homeowner so even after a lesson from a professional I still had questions. So the next day I called him and thanked him for his time, but was going to attempt it myself. As I did have some unanswered questions about the process I offered to pay him for the bid and for some information regarding particular details. Not only did he staunchly refuse payment for his time, he happily answered my questions and offered to answer any others that came up. Tell me another contractor that would ever do this. So in short, I needed a new fence. I called Harley, he have me a fair quote, I told him I'm gonna try to do it myself and he offered to guide me. Can I promise you he will do the same everyone? Probably not. But I do know when I need a deck, patio or any other structure built (because these are WAY too complex for me) I will be calling Harley for the work. Thanks a bunch Harley! read more

I hired Harley to do a deck project in my backyard. I wanted a deck built on the side of my above ground pool. I'm surprised with some of the comments on Yelp about him being unresponsive. Harley was the only deck installer who called me back ASAP and within a day he was at my house doing a quote. His team were at my house for 4 days and the deck was done seamlessly with no issues. we are highly satisfied with the quality of the work . After having them do two projects, I contacted Harley in July on a 3rd. He advised me that they'd love to do the job and that he would get back to me in Sept with a quote and to schedule. When Sept came and went, I tried to contact him several times both via email and voicemail. He did not bother to get back to me. During the past jobs, he was difficult to communicate with. The work done by Fred, his brother, and his crew are excellent. But Harley is a real pain to do business with and is a great detraction from the business since he is they only one that does the company's bids and schedule. I have since turned to other companies for quotes and one advised me that Deone 2 no longer serves our area. It would have been nice to have Harley let me know. read more

We first worked with Deome several years ago when we were looking to replace the railings on our existing multi-level redwood deck with new wrought iron railing. During that process, we discovered massive dry-rot problems that were so extensive, we're lucky that deck hadn't collapsed. An easy rail replacement job suddenly became a massive ground-up deck rebuild. Harley and Fred kept us updated on the situation as it unfolded, and their crew tore out the existing deck and rebuilt the new deck amazingly fast. While we weren't expecting to build a new deck, we've been extremely happy with how it turned out. When our side "utility" redwood deck started developing similar dry-rot issues recently, it was a no-brainer to get Deome back out and address that deck as well. Their quote was reasonable and the entire job was completed while I was away for a short business trip. Deome's work is clean, their guys are professional, and their prices are reasonable. This review is only on customer service and response time. Had my gate blown over this past weekend with all the heavy winds. After contacting several companies Deome 2 Builders was one of the first to contact me which was really appreciated given the situation with my yard being exposed. No matter how early in the morning on a weekend I would get a response to all my questions and concerns. I was able to take pictures and get a quote through Yelp messages. However I didn't go with them as I had a neighbor kindly offer to fix it given that I pay for parts. If it wasn't for this awesome surprise I would have hired them. Given the quick response and great service I can only imagine the quality of thier work. Contacted 12 businesses that day and it took the others a couple days to return my messages. Due to the quick response and quality of service (responding to my messages before 8am on a Sunday when thier company is closed, who does that?) I highly recommend Deome 2 Builders! read more

II booked for an estimate on 04-10-15. "Harley" returned my message and promptly told me, "I don't want to waste your time or mine..." He TEXT me @7:41 pm on 04-13-15 stating, '...as a company we decided to hold off on performing fence work...' Once I received the text I responded, "Are you serious right now? That is just wrong & unprofessional But, hey thanks for the very short notice". He did apologized and also text this message, 'Most companies would not have even let you know they would have not shown up'. To me this sounds as if he was doing me a big favor? I don't see it that way at all - because I made a commitment to be at home for the appointment. I turned down extra work at my job to prepare for our appointment. I also spent hours researching on line before I found Deome 2 Builders...in retrospect It's best that I did not do business with "Harley" because he revealed that there is not much of a commitment on his part. We have had Harley out from Deome 2 Builders for a deck estimate a year ago and REALLY was impressed with the overall price of the estimate and the organized way it was written up! We did not go with Deome that time for the deck, but when we needed two- to four fences replaced they popped into my head! Update: A couple of the fence posts failed after a few years. Communication was not great and after they came they said they wouldn't fix it, wouldn't give me a bid b/c it was too far away for such little work. I could understand if it was net-new work, but this was in support of work they did that should have lasted much longer. Disappointed! We had a top-level deck replaced many years ago by another reputable contractor and we were satisfied. I immediately knew I could trust him and that he would be fair. He provided us with a couple of designs and estimates and when I asked him what we could do for a smaller amount, he had no problem with cutting back the scale of our project. He helped us brainstorm ideas, was responsive and easy to work with, was hardworking, and never made me feel like I was bothering him with my questions and requests. He brought us color samples and when I asked for more colors, he had no problem dropping them off. His crew was professional, worked late to finish our project, and did a wonderful job.
