Deolinda was absolutely amazing! She made a bridal shower dress out of my sister's wedding dress and a rehearsal top from mine for my daughter's wedding. I told her that I moved here 3 years ago and that August is crazy hot and she said good! If not more of you people would move here! WTF... I let that passed then she keep saying how busy she was and she would only be doing little alterations to the wedding dress cause her son was coming to visit. Then she told me that she was expensive cause she was American labor not Chinese labor... what that had to do with anything I wasn't even saying anything about the price, I reminded her that Chinese are also people, and then she suggested that I maybe wanted to have a cheaper work done in Mexico cause I wasn't happy with the way she wanted to fix the dress like a quick fix to a wedding dress, and she told me that "they" (in mexico) don't work like her... she had never been in México I told her that doesn't matter the nationality people can do a good job! I am completely disgusted by her atitud.... she is mean, aggressive, sour and not friendly! I took the dress to Dino over to Londons and my experience with him was fantastic!!! Let me start by saying every negative review on here related to timeless of work is absolutely correct. I am in the Army Reserve and had a new uniform hat (patrol cap) that I just needed a name tape sewn on the back of and rank sewn on the front. The job should literally have taken 10 minutes or less as I have had similar jobs done several times. She was not too far from my office so I called ahead to 1) verify that she does military alterations because the placement of things is very specific and 2) if she could do it on the spot durning my lunch break or I needed to leave it because while it was near my office it was not near my house so I wasn't interested in leaving it to make along special trip back over the weekend. She was polite, says she did military alterations all the time and could definitely do it while I wait, just swing by. When I arrived and showed her what I needed she looked at it and said she decided to start another job and there is no way she can do it today. She kept asking me to leave it and come back tomorrow or the next day and why was today important? It's important because 1) you agreed to it and 2) It was Friday and I needed it for a military event early Sunday morning. She also attempted to pursued me that no other shop in town would do on the spot work which is completely untrue. She did finally agree to do it but said it would take at least half and hour. I went to a diner around the corner to eat and when I returned the job was done. I was surprised that it cost 20 dollars for a small, quick job like that. It wasn't that I can't afford it but I have a tailor I use regularly who just so happened to be out of town and she would have charged half that. I am giving a second star only because the job did look good when finally completed. However, given the hassle to actually do what was agreed upon before arriving, the time it took to actually complete the job once finally started and the higher prices I doubt I'll be back. read more

My daughter was getting married and I needed a long dress. After searching through bridal shops online during covid her shop came up and not far from me. She actually had dresses to sell. I put her first on my list. I did not want to get into the ordering of dresses and not sure if I would like them on me and have to send back if not or finding somewhere to alter them. I went in she pulled a few dresses my size from her racks of dresses. They were one of a kind so knew no one would have one like like it. I picked the first one I tried on but did try on two more and did not like. Deolinda did some major alterations as I am short and everything I buy needs to be cut and hemmed. She made other alterations such the sleeves were long and wanted them shorter took her advice on the length and other alterations as she knew what she was talking about. Deolinda's really is a hidden gem in downtown Clearwater. My story is simple. I was late on getting fitted for a suit/tux for my wedding. The original location I chose to get fitted closed early so rather than get angry, I called around until I got to Deolinda's. She said she was working late and that she'd be available to look at tuxes. I immediately drove down there and was fitted. Yes, Deolinda's shop is a little cramped, a little messy, but she's been there for a long time and she knows what she is doing. She is very easy-going and full of personality. We received our tuxes as promised and she was available throughout the day for fittings and hems as needed, as my groomsmen came in at different times that day. In the end, I was very pleased by her flexibility and positive attitude. This was an absolutely terrible experience. My husband has been going to Deolinda's for years for his alterations, so I thought I would give it a try. On Monday, October 19th, I brought a navy blue cardigan that needed a light stitch on a cloth belt that ripped off. She told me she wasn't feeling too well and that it would be a couple days, but definitely be ready by Thursday, October 21st. I went in 15 DAYS LATER, November 3rd and this was my experience: A) I walked into the shop and Deolinda was busy flirting with a young gentleman for about 5 minutes while I was waiting in line. Her only acknowledgment to me was that I should shop in her dated, old gowns she has while she finishes her flirtation. Absolutely no business was being conducted during my wait. B) When she finally took me, she took an additional 10 minutes and searched all over the store because she couldn't find my cardigan. When she finally did it was crunched up in a tiny ball and hadn't even been worked on! C) She insisted that she could do the work in 2 minutes, although I told her I could just come back later. She insisted that I shouldn't leave and said, it wouldn't be a problem because she has BLACK THREAD (I had a NAVY BLUE cardigan). I told her that "I don't want black thread on a navy cardigan, and that I had taken it to her because I wanted it done professionally." (If I wanted a hack job, I could have done it myself.) D) I expressed to her my disappointment that the garment wasn't done in a timely fashion (15 DAYS) and her venemous response to me was "DID YOU NOT HEAR ME??? I WAS SICK!!!!!" This was VERY unprofessional. Deolinda needs to understand that it's not the customers problem if she can not deliver what she promises on. This is a business and customers should not suffer because she cannot balance her personal life and her work load. I simply took back my unfinished, unworked on cardigan and left with Deolinda for 15 DAYS. I brought it to Fashion Cleaners located at: 1152 Court St, Clearwater, FL 33756 (less than a mile away) and they will have it ready for me by tomorrow!!! My husband and I will never be returning to this establishment. If she had acknowledged that she had made a mistake or apologize even once, this could have been prevented, but her attitude and lack of care for other peoples property is unacceptable. I will not be giving any more of our business to this poorly ran shop and I deeply suggest that you don't as well. I picked this place out of a couple options because of the convenient location. The first time I went to her for my wedding dress alteration, she picked apart my dress & continually stated the poor quality of the material. Standing there in front of the mirror this didn't make me feel good. By the time she had ripped everything apart we agreed on what needed to be done & a reasonable price was first suggested. We agreed to the terms and set a date a few months later to try the dress on again. When I came back, nothing had barely been done. She made several excuses for not being able to get to my dress but mainly resorted back to picking on the poor quality of the dress as to why it was taking longer than 'usual.' Meanwhile at least five business people walked in and handed her their blouses/pants etc. told her they were on a tight deadline and that they needed it by a certain time and if she came through they'd make it worth her wild. She agreed to every single one... while I was standing there in a ripped up wedding dress and she told me it would be another month or two. So basically if you're willing to bribe her she'll get it done on time. By the third time I went to pick up the dress, she had lost my veil and the dress still wasn't done. Plus she wanted to charge us a ridiculous amount because she said it took her more of her time to do it then she originally thought! What?! After several hours and many words exchanged, the dress was finally done and the price we paid ended up being okay despite what we had gone through. I would NOT take my wedding dress here. Deolinda's is wonderful! Originally found her on Google. Was a bit hard for us to find the first time, as you have to park in the back. Had to have her make alterations to a couple of law enforcement uniforms for my fiancé a while back on short notice. She took measurements, was very very cheaply priced, very friendly, and had the uniforms done EARLIER than she had thought, within just a few days! We returned at a later date with more uniforms for her to alter, and had the same experience. Her work is worth more than she charges. Will return for all of my alterations! read more

I did this because my son was honorably medically discharged due to injuries he received in the line of duty over seas. We both looked like total "Rockstars" for the awards banquet while he won and accepted his 2018 Clearwater Beach Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Services Award! Deolinda is the "real deal". In business for 35 years she is so talented and very professional!!! She had everything ready on time, the morning of the event and all of it was all perfect. She does extensive work for many of our out of town wedding guests, bride n grooms and for many of our local beach resorts too, in addition to local boutiques and our neighborhood people. They offer original hem alterations where you can keep the distressed portion of the jeans kept instead of a new hem made with new non-matching thread. I had 2 pairs of denim jeans hemmed and they turned out beautifully. I had nearly shredded the ends by walking in them while they were too long (shame on me, I know...) but when she was through with them they looked brand new. This was possibly the worst experience I have ever had with a business. I had 2 very small problems that needed repair (a belt loop had become detached and I needed a button put back on). I dropped them off on a Saturday afternoon, she said it would be a couple of days. The following Saturday I returned after not hearing from her all week to find out nothing had yet been done on the items. She then said to return later that day, after 1pm, and they would be finished. I returned to a sign on her door saying she was "out doing alterations". I called the number on the sign and she was actually on her way to get a cup of coffee and asked me to wait 30 mins for her return. When I told her no, that I wouldn't stand outside her shop for 30 mins she came back upset with me and handed me back my clothes that were not repaired at all. read more
