When she said "I put my heartbeat into my work" I knew my shirt was in the right hands. Alice creates a warm and friendly atmosphere when you come to her with your garments. As someone who was new to getting their clothes altered, this was much appreciated. I drive by several other clothing alteration stores on my 25 minute drive to Alice and I do so with a smile on my face because I know I'm about to be satisfied with how my clothing fits me. Alice is absolutely amazing! I had a pair of baseball pants I needed to hem for my grandson. The material was too thick for my machine. I was blessed to have called Alice that day, just hoping that she would be able to help me out. (And I needed the pants done that day.) Alice was great! I called her on a Saturday morning around 11 AM and told her I needed a hole fixed in a dress. She told me I could stop by at 11:30. When I got to her house, she immediately welcomed me in and offered me a beverage. She looked over the hole in my dress, gave me a great price and proceeded to fix it immediately in front of me. She was very personable and kind while I sat and waited for her to finish my dress. She also checked over the entire dress after fixing the hole and cut random loose threads and such. She told me she treats every customers items as if they were her own clothes. I was in and out in probably less than 10 minutes. Something to note, she only accepts cash or check which wasn't a problem for me. Overall, a great experience and I plan on returning to her for any alterations I need in the future! read more

I do not recommend this business. Worst decision and a waste of money. Very unhappy experience. I just spent $220.00 on 3 dresses and 1 pair overall. One dress and the overall bib were still too big. Alice refused to alter it without charging more money. I had even said at the fitting, on both items, as she was pinning them, that I wanted more material taken in, on both the dress and the overalls, but she said no. I don't complain, not who I am, but with this recent transaction, I have to share my disappointment. I have always had a seamstress when I lived up north until she retired and then I had another one. My first seamstress and I were together from 17 years old to 48 years old, she retired, then I had my next one from 48 yrs to 55 yrs, until my relocation to the east coast of Florida. I recently relocated to clearwater and needed a seamstress. This is my first experience ever, where a seamstress did not make adjustments to the alterations included in the paid monies, what if this was a wedding gown?!?! Alice is very nice and charming until you question her work or need adjustments made. This is not a good business and I am not able to give any stars, (the review made me give one star or it would not let me post). I am completely disappointed!!! $220.00 is a lot of money and I was in agreement to pay and paid in full cash, but if this is how adjustments are handled I will need to go to another seamstress. It does not matter how good one's work is, if their integrity is not solid, in the end, it won't matter. I pray this is a learning experience for Alice as I have a lot more garments to be altered and it could have been a great long-term, fruitful business relationship. UPDATE: 9/13/2022 I found an amazing seamstress, local to where I am. I had 3 dresses and one pant to be altered and the price was $60.00 total, a fraction of the $220.00 I was charged by Alice. I can't stress enough about the poor customer service and I was way overcharged. Please look around, there are other seamstress options out here where we are not taken advantage of. read more

After calling multiple tailors, Alice was the only one that wasn't 2-3 weeks out. She was very accommodating and informative; teaching me about the different fits (traditional, tailored, slim) that are sold and how to expect them to fit on me. She took my measurements and taught me about some of the nuance of measurements with respect to online shopping. She was extremely sweet, caring and knowledgeable. (I needed it taken in) I was able to drop my dress off within the hour where I was greeted by the sweetest and most pleasant lady I have ever met.
