We had some mysterious rusty looking crud coming out from under our toilet and a friend referred us to Dentzer Plumbing. We got in contact with Joe, and he was out to look at the problem in less than 24 hours. Joe had the toilet repaired and better than ever in less than 2 hours. He took some photos and walked through what the issue had been and what was done to fix it and explained it so we understood all of it!! This was the easiest and most pleasant plumbing repair I've ever experienced! I would highly recommend this very professional and quality plumbing service! Thank you!! read more

I have been using center plumbing for years they are prompt and clean up when they are done. They come T a moments notice

We have used Bernie and Joe for three plumbing jobs in the past 2 months. They diagnosed and repaired a hole in our waste stack; diagnosed and repaired a tub overflow valve; and extended our vent stack through the roof. Bernie and Joe are old school, very likeable gentlemen who do quality, honest work. I hope to never see either of them again, but if I need a good plumber I will definitely call them. read more

More than plumbers, friends, since 1984 they've been our go to guys. Loved Bernie and Joe carries on the tradition. Call them, you won't be sorry. read more

This company is first class all the way. My shut off valve under the kitchen sink burst late yesterday afternoon. I called Joe Dentzer and he responds with in minutes. Came to the house within the half hour and promptly replaced the broken valve. This was done at 5:00PM at night and after two days of heavy flooding and work for the plumber. I would use them again at anytime necessary. Ken Lewin read more

Bernie Dentzer, Joe Dentzer and Willy are an amazing team. We had our waterheaters replaced six months ago. Yesterday we had no hot water due to our pilots being out. Blanton responded but recommended replacement! Needing more expertise we called Bernie and he and Willy responded immediately. They thoroughly assessed the problem and skillfully re-lit both water heaters. We saved so much money! Thank you for your honesty, ethics and commitment to service. We are calling you first next time! Thanks for your years of service to our Edgewater and Rogers Park communities. read more

Had just moved into a new home that was in need of some plumbing maintenance. I do not touch plumbing but the jobs were small an more of a inconvenience than a true plumbing issue, so I contacted this company based upon a referral from a friend. They were very responsive to my needs and the situation and offered very easy terms in dealing with things. They have always been prompt, courteous and friendly while maintaining a very professional relationship. I have had them back for other issues that have come up since moving in and my experiences have all been the same - exceptional! I really appreciated working with the business owners instead of a hired technician or clerk. They give it their own personal touch. I would recommend Dentzer Plumbing to all of my family and friends and believe you will have nearly the same experience as I did. read more

I wouldn't trust my plumbing needs to anyone else. Been using Bernie and his brother's services for years and will continue for as long as they are in business. You will never find more trustworthy, quality work. Friendly and honest. read more

The best plumbing company in the Andersonville / Edgewater community, and I have used others also. Their quick response to not only our emergency needs, but our wish list projects have been impressive. At this point in time, everyone else seems to give us long delay excuses. They have been more than fair in their pricing, doing exceptional work, and going the extra mile to fix other little things outside the parameter of our original quote. I highly recommend this company with seasoned, experienced plumbing knowledge about the old buildings in our area, and they are very pleasant to work with. read more

So happy we choose Dentzer Plumbing to replace our bath tub spout. We really wanted a shower in our guest bath and now we have one. Our maintenance person for two years told us it was not possible and that it could cost hundreds and maybe over thousand dollars if the pipes broke. Dentzer warned us the pipe could break but made it seem as though it was not a big deal if it did. He had a great can do attitude and got the job done within budget too! Also arrived early! Thank you!!!! read more

I have had occasion to call this fantastic plumber twice so far in 2018. He was referred to me by 3 or 4 FB friends. He's excellent. You're going to pay pretty well when you have to call a plumber. But Joe's going to show up fast and do a great job. In plumbers you need an Old School guy who has seen everything and who knows Chicago's plumbing. This is him. read more

Used Dentzer plumbing multiple times at the recommendation of my property management company, and thought I was getting decent work. Turns out I wasn't. I always felt they were expensive, but I didn't realize just how absurd their pricing was. They were also not only misleading/deceptive on price for a later (very simple) job of just replacing a couple of hoses, but also did absolutely nothing to clean up the area where they worked. They're unwilling to bend on the absurd price, and also claim to have not received my check (which I suppose I'll believe because it doesn't appear to be cashed) - so now I have to cancel a check and send another... Yeah, checks... like grandma writes... because they don't have a way to pay online. They even threatened collections even though I had documentation that I sent payment a SECOND time, and had to cancel the first payment. Even worse, I confirmed that some of the work they'd done was of poor quality. In particular, they mounted / clipped some copper pipes up with a different metal - a huge plumbing no-no which I didn't know at the time, but which a plumber alerted me to. Not being one to believe any contractor who badmouths the previous one (because they ALL do it), I did some research and confirmed that in fact this was a dangerous and poor practice because it would cause eventual corrosion. Google "Galvanic Corrosion" and see for yourself. A plumber who can't follow basic best practices is not deserving of my business. Stay far away from these folks. read more

My neighbor recommended them and I am glad I called. He came within a couple of hours of my call and had my sink unclogged in less than half an hour, his fee was very reasonable. Another business that I had come out before him just took a look and told me it would be almost $600 because they would have to cut out pipes. He got right to work and there was no need to cut any pipes. I will definitely use them again. read more

Found a simple solution for a complicated plumbing problem we had. Came back to fix it later again at no cost. Very honest and efficient!

I highly recommend Bernie and his crew. He has done 3 jobs for me an all were great experiences and fair prices.

Dentzer plumbing was amazing! We called on Tuesday, they were here on Wednesday! Very friendly and fast work. I will gladly recommend them to all of my friends and use again and again! read more

These guys are fantastic. They've been over once with my wife and once with me. We had a hot water heater issue. He showed me what the problem was. He showed me how to fix it. And lastly left me some supplies in case the issue popped up again I could take care of it myself. I won't use any one else. read more

We had a leak in our kitchen. I called a few plumbers. Joe called me back. He said it would be a day before he could come out because he was backed up. But he suggested we turn off the water line to the dishwasher. Though I couldn't pinpoint the leak, his suggestion stopped it so we were able to dry the floor. The next day, Joe came on time, confirmed a damaged water hose was leaking, said the installers had mistakenly kinked the line and quickly replaced it with a new hose he got from his truck. Then he went with me to check our downstairs neighbors' unit to make sure water wasn't leaking there. This is a family business that I will gladly continue to support. Good service, fair prices, no drama. read more

I have used Dentzer Plumbers for a few jobs in my condo. When I called to have a dripping bathtub spout looked at I got Bernie. I made an appt with him and he was a NO SHOW and NO CALL even when I called to see if he was still coming. I have had Joe in the past and he was always on time and called if times changed. If you call Dentzer ask for Joe and not Bernie. read more

Really like these guys. Plain speaking, took time to explain, lower quotes than the others I called, told me some work suggested by other plumbers was unnecessary. read more

We have used Dentzer Plumbers for several projects in our house - our hot water heater stopped working right after we got back from the hospital with a newborn, we had a leak in a wall and we replaced our kitchen faucet. All three times, the Dentzer family came through like knights in shining armor! The hot water heater was fixed in very short order, the leak also and the kitchen faucet - that takes the cake. The faucet came from a hoity-toity faucet place downtown, but once the old faucet was removed and installation of the new faucet began Joe discovered that there was a key component of the faucet missing from the package. It was early Friday afternoon before a Sunday holiday (Mother's Day, I think). He went the next project and I went dashing down to the faucet place and played mix and match with their service dept to make sure I had all the parts. Then Joe came back AFTER 5PM to finish the job so that we would have a functioning sink for the holiday. These fellows are reasonably priced and no-hassle. We love working with a family company that knows what's important - doing a great job and taking care of the customer with no b.s. We will use no other plumber. read more
