TRUE HORROR STORY. TRAUMATIZED. STAY AWAY. KEEP YOUR FAMILY AND TEETH SAFE. BEWARE OF THIS OFFICE. SCAMMERS. I was lied to, violated and taken advantage of. Appointment 05/15/2025@1pm. - I showed up at 12:45pm and was there till 5:35pm. - i went in for a cleaning and additional information on where i was at in regard to tooth and gum health.  -This was my very first visit. Hadn't been to a dentist in years. i had no prior issues. During this visit I was told I had optimal tooth gum health i was at 10 but i needed a bridge and filling and it could all be done same day with cleaning. THAT WAS A HUGE LIE THEY SOLD ME ON! ("it can be done same day" was the whole reason i agreed to anything. i asked twice and they confirmed. ) They made it seem like they would just add a tooth and I would have a great set of teeth again BUT no they made me sign some electronic device without showing me any document or giving me a copy.  (screen was off to side). then immediately they shaved my two good teeth down to almost nothing. I asked what was being done he said shaving tooth down a lil bit to fit the fake tooth in. i had to go to the bathroom during this, when i went to the bathroom i saw what they did to my good teeth, they were shaved down to nothing. i could not believe what was done. I realized i made the biggest mistake in my life trusting my dentist. They added fake teeth on top of the teeth they sawed down and then said ill have to come back for the tooth that is still missing. (not same day like they originally promised). i was only missing one tooth. i was fine missing this one tooth. now it feels like I'm missing three total. [[HIGHLIGHT]]right now there is no follow up or anything. 05/17/2025 they didn't give me any info on what was done to me beside a bill with line items.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] but [[HIGHLIGHT]]i didn't get anything on what a bridge was? what to expect going forward. i didnt get any do's and donts no paper work when leaving the office. no dental hygiene instructions[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. nor was i told that doing any of this would cause me pain after. no print out or nothing. i was at the dentist office 12:45pm till close 5:35pm. also they didn't even want to do the cleaning that i originally went in for. after they sawed my teeth and put fake ones on. dentist said "have a great day". and i said "ive had a cleaning before an i didn't get one here today and ive been here all day im confused" he said "oh i thought you were going to do that tomorrow?." i was like WHAT? I WRK TOMORROW! i came in today for a cleaning. why would it now be tomorrow? you promised everything could be done today and now i have to come back for a fake tooth and not get what i originally came for? he said and i quote "well the hygienist has already left for the day." I recently visited another dentist, and long story short, I went in with no pain and left with temporary crowns, one of which actually needed a root canal. (I only found out a week later after excruciating pain.) They patched me up and told me to wait for my permanent crowns to come in. Well, i did. Another week. I have never been in so much pain, and I have given birth to two children. Naturally. I finally got to Dentists of Riverview, and I could not be happier. They got me in, same day, and worked with me on the financial part, as it was an unexpected cost. I am happy to say, I am in no pain and my teeth feel great. The front office was so wonderful, and my dentist and his assistant were more professional and courteous than I could have predicted. They explained to me exactly what was going on. This place deserves no stars. Horrible. My family has probably experience the worst in this place. They should be reported to the BBB for everything they do. 1. Got a procedure done, now all of a sudden I have an infection on that same tooth? 2. Supposedly I needed a deep cleaning, while flossing 2 times and brushing my teeth everyday and never having any dental issues before. All if a sudden deep cleaning, went to another dentist and said that's not possible. Your teeth a clean, gums are healthy and you do not need deep cleaning. First time ever I'd heard of this. 3. Bill did not come under my name and they charged me for procedure they did not do. 4. Had a scheduled appointment and all of a sudden they said I didn't, thankfully I had my appointment card and they said sorry we will have to resc I honestly think this place is scamming people, doing unecessary jobs. The office is conveniently located and was easy to find, had reasonable hours and appointment options, including hours outside of the standard 9-5, and it was easy to schedule a first-time appointment. All staff were friendly and caring both to each other and myself. The office does in-house root-canals and crowns. I am unsure if they do implants, as well. The offer financing options including care credit and accept delta dental insurance. I was able to get xrays and work done on my first appointment. The care I received at the this office was very respectful and above and beyond my expectations. The care was meticulous and the office experience was comfortable. Even though I was paying, of course, it was just a business transaction without anxiety. This is one of 5 dental offices in Riverview within a .5 mile radius. Called to set up an appointment for my 2 year old son as my insurance said they were in network. Go there and checked in. Place is really nice, clean, bright, and organized. We were the only ones there and even then it took time for us to be called back. My son is 2.5 years old, the dentist tried several times to check his teeth but didn't succeed because he was not having it. She recommended he see a pediatric dentist, which is what I thought they were. When I called to make the appointment I informed them of his age, nothing was said about it possibly being a problem. The dentist was friendly and she does work with children, just not ones so young. I knocked a star because we did have to wait a bit before we were seen and because I feel like we should've been told he was too young for their office. They did refer me to 2 places that would be better suited to see him so I appreciated that. I will prob end up going there myself as they have extended hours a few times a week. read more

Find another office if you can, fair warning. I have had problem after problem with this dental office. Twice I have had appointments made and then cancelled by the office because they have improperly scheduled. I've shown up to my appointment only for them to say they cannot clean my teeth because the particular dentist they scheduled me with needs someone else to check over my teeth before they see me. This was after scheduling the appointment, over the phone, with the front office. We even discussed the fact that I was seeing a new dentist, yet they still scheduled me. The office manager spoke to me as though I was the issue, but said they could do me a favor and squeeze me in two hours later. I thanked them and left to find a new practice. An honest apology and ownership of the problem would have been fine. I do not usually write reviews unless I feel it could truly save someone the trouble, and this office will eventually give you trouble. To me, this office lacks integrity, responsibility, experience and customer care. I sincerely recommend going elsewhere. read more

Over 9 phone calls in one day with only 1 callback, more than 24 hours in pain post procedure with lack of urgency or follow up! The worst customer service I've ever received from a Doctor!!! HORRIBLE!! On 11/30 I received a root canal which went well in my opinion. The only challenge was the amount of injections I received to get the tooth numb enough to start drilling. I received at least 12 injections at different periods of time which allowed them to start the procedure without me feeling anything; however once the Endo (Susan Yasrebi) began drilling through my crown I started to feeling pain. As a result, the Endo indicated that she was going to give me more injections to assist. She gave me at least two more rounds of f numbing injections. She was able to complete the procedure with me feeling minimal pain and I was sent on my way with a prescription for Amoxicillin and Tylenol with Codine. I'm not able to take Morton 800 which is what she wanted to prescribe, she asked if I ever had Tramadol which I didn't recall. I told her that the dentist who referred me to her had given me Tylenol with Codeine for pain and it was working so far so we ended with that. She was very attentive during the procedure she educated me every step of the way. My appointment was at 2:30pm and I left the procedure at 5:30pm. As soon as I got home (around 6pm) I took 1 Tylenol with Codeine 30mg. Felt no pain, as I was still numb. My prescription for Amoxicillin was filled at 9pm and I took my first dose. By that time the pain was kicking in and I wasn't due my next dose of pain medicine until midnight. 11pm he pain was so severe, theft I took my second dose then. No relief, could not sleep so I waited as long as I could. 3am took my next dose. Still no relief, I slept for one hour that night due to the amount of pain. (No fever, bleeding, swelling, etc...) Elevated my head, did cold compress, noting helped. At 6:53am on 12/1 I left message on the emergency option asking for a change in pain medecine. The office opened at 8am. At 8:04am I called back and was told need to speak with Doctor, they would call me back. After not receiving a call back. I called again at 8:56am and was advised that the Dentist (Miguel) doesn't come in until 10am and he would have to speak with the Endo who did my procedure for the new script. I asked if there was anyone I could speak with for a recommendation as to what I could do in the meantime for pain management. After being very persistent I was transferred to the office manager (Sean Amstutz). By this time it was after 9am (time for my next dose). He said that he would reach out to the Endo and get back with me. At 9:45am he told me that the Endo approved me to take a double dose of Codeine (60mg) and that they would put in a rush order for Vicodin and it should be ready by 11am. If it was not ready by the , give him a call back. I felt good about the response and was hopeful. I dozed off, woke up at 12:10pm, called back in after verifying with Walgreens that nothing new was submitted . Spoke to the Dentist Miguel, and was told that the doc was trying to log in to request it. I told him I was told that over 2hrs ago, he placed me on hold to check and line was disconnected. I called back at 12:12pm, explained to they lady what happened and she said that she did not think Miguel was there. I explained that I just spoke with him less than 5 min ago (said maybe he was in the bathroom and that she will leave a note. As I'm expressing my frustration, she said that I don't have to be rude with her. When asked what did I say or do, she referred to my tone. I explained again that I was in pain then I hung up out to total frustration. 12:44pm I called the Apollo Beach number (this is another location where the Endo work) in an effort to speak directly with her for support. The person who answered (Paris) said she could not contact the Endo directly; however she would reach out yo the office on my behalf. She spoke with Sean (office manager I spoke with at 9:40) who was checking on it at. At 12:48pm she came back in the line and told me that she got disconnected (I'm going to assume in good faith that something was wrong with the lines). Paris apologizes and assured me that she would send an urgent message documenting my request and experience. 1:48pm, about an hour later I received a text notification from the pharmacy Indie, indicating that a new prescription was being reviewed. So I waited. By 4:30 PM I had not received an update from the pharmacy so I decided to call for an update. The pharmacy stated that they were pending correction from doctor on specifics on script and sent I fax to doctor. 4:40pm I called Doctor for status update spoke with Darryl (office message person) who sent a message to the office manager to call me and to respond to the fax from the pharmacist. I made it clear that I would like it addressed BEFORE CLOSING AS IM STILL IN PAIN. 8:44pm nothing read more

Worst dental office I've ever been too!!! The first time I went to this office for routine cleanings they threw all kinds of options at me when I clearly stated that I just wanted cleanings. I gave in and ended up doing some other procedures to get a better looking smile. But he never explained in detail what he was actually gonna do and next thing I know he began to file down my teeth cause apparently to get crowns in your front teeth they have to make them very small this is a procedure that cannot be undone and this was never explain to me. This was something that he wanted to do on the day off because it was thousands of dollars that I'm assuming they get a piece off because it's considered an upsell. He rushed to do this because he had other patients but wanted to do it on the day off so that I wouldn't change my mind. everything felt very rushed and obviously it was not done the way it was supposed to be done. My mouth was prepped up for 2 root canals & a total of four crowns on a Friday 8/13. This was done after being pressured to do the procedure that day for the discount they provided and telling me after accepting my payment that the Endodontist only comes once a month to their office & I would get an early appt on 8/26 -14 days after exposing 2 nerves and cavities..... I was sent home being told to use my ibuprofen at home for the pain. I got prescribed pain meds 48 hrs after realizing they HAVE NO AFTER HOURS OR ANSWERING SERVICE. THESE ARE NOT SAME DENTIST. IT WAS BROUGHT OUT IN 2020 AND UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT. PRICE GOUGING , PRESSURE TO DO PROCEDURE SAME DAY FOR DISCOUNT, MONTHLY ENDODONTIST, NO PAIN MEDS , PRESCRIBED WHEN ASKED ONLY WHEN COMPLAINING. I would give zero stars if I could. I'm a hygienist who was visiting from GA and saw the sign offering comp exam & cleaning for $59. I LOVE to have my teeth cleaned. The dentist told me that I was perio maintenance and needed a cleaning every 3 months even though I have no bleeding and no calculus buildup, and I get my teeth cleaned very often at the offuce where I work. He was probing my gums very hard and calling out high numbers. He got angry bc I was asking questions based on his diagnosis. The dentist tried to rip me off by saying that I was going to need a deep cleaning and a crown and several fillings. Luckily for me I work in dentistry so I got up and left. Beware unless you have money to throw away! I went to this location for treatment, this was my first crown and did not know there were different crowns and that my Insurance company would only pay for certain types. No one explained that to me at all and charged me for the most expensive crown. Also during the three part treatment, The first part was done with an in network dentist conveniently the second part of the treatment was done by an out of network dentist. This too was done without my knowledge. I have filed a complaint with CIGNA and the BBB with no response from the dentists of Riverview. No one has reached out at all to help resolve this issue. But they did find the time to call me to see if I was going to pay the bill. read more

Beware of billing and payment issues. My husband had work done in June and insurance was not dealt with correctly resulting in an overpayment on our part. I have spent months now trying to recover over $600 in overpayments. The office has acknowledged the overpayment but keeps giving me the runaround. First I would like to say my first time here at this place was amazing front staff as well as the lady who cleaned my teeth were all very nice. And I thought I found a place I felt comfortable in. Well that changed today as u just left from getting my wisdom teeth pulled. The surgeon comes in doesn't introduce him self so I don't even know his name. He then says he's gonna numb me and that's fine. After my right tooth was pulled it was fine my left one there was trouble getting out and the amount of pressure I felt on my head and my face was insane. I started crying and he asked one of the girls to come hold my head and proceeded to say that it's hard to get a tooth when I'm not opening my mouth wide enough mind u I'm crying my eyes out because the pain is unreal and he asked if it was pain or pressure I said pain and he just kept going. Finally getting the tooth out I was hysterical. He put his instruments down and walked away did not say a word or nothing like I was nothing. Never felt more uncomfortable in my life. Never had someone who has a medical degree have so little regard for someone. Oh and my paperwork says his name is Mohammad okasha apparently. Do not recommend having oral surgery here. My dentist sent me here because they couldn't resolve an issue they created, same group, different location. This place never gave me an estimate, just proceeded with the procedure. I thought this was warranty work and was shocked to get a bill beyond what insurance covered, they covered 2/3-3/4 of the cost. After being sweet talked to and emailed by the office Manager, he said he would get back to me but never did and then sent the outstanding bill it to a collection agency only after 5-6 weeks. My office more or less said they had no responsibility to cover the cost, the dentist that caused this is no longer there. Be careful of this place and Modern Dentistry policies in general, make sure you get the proposal and who is responsible up front before any work is done. I must add that I do like the present dentist, unfortunately this company and some of them are shady. And to add, my crown came loose in less then a year, it is covered under the 5 year warranty...at least this time. read more

Let me start off by saying why I am giving one star. The start is for the front dest. I had an appointment at 3:30 and decided I would go in early for my kids gum check. I got there 5 before 3 and was greeted and then interrupted in middle sentence of checking in to answer the phone. The other assistant Lexi began (which was nice of her) to help and I was then past back to the young gentleman to finish my daughters check in process. I was given an iPad to fill in information and was told I would be heading in in a few. As I sat down another person comes in and checks in. I asked once filling in my information that I would be leaving on time and that I wouldn't loose my place because of their system errors. The young man assured me that I would NOT. Another man comes to the front desk and begins to say that my insurance info was unfound and that he needs the information again. I told him why wasn't I told this before he said that they called me and left a message in which I told him that's not correct because someone called me yesterday to confirm over the phone and she never mentioned them having no insurance issues. He then responded that they should have.I then gave him the correct SS# and as he is doing whatever he does with the computer he said she was billed and off comes out a tech calling for the individual who came after me being called in. I asked Chris why was the lady called before me and he said he wasn't sure if I wasn't being seen and I corrected him and said my daughter wasn't called. He then said her appointment was the same time as my daughter and I repeated then why isn't she going in first? Then go ahead and call my daughter in and said they needed to take X-rays I told them I wasn't made aware of any X-rays because that was not told to me and I didn't want to get billed for something I wasn't made aware. Chris printed a bill and told me I wasn't going to get billed however the insurance would be paying. I explained that the insurance has changed and they will charge for panoramic images. He said I wouldn't. At this point it was over and hour and my daughter had not seen the doctor. Probably not the best place to go to. read more
