He treated my periodontitis with laser gum surgery (LANAP) - I had two laser appointments and follow-up cleanings: I felt little to no pain post-op. I feel immensely happy with the improved health of my gums. Dr. Witt and his dental assistant, Christian, were highly attentive to my needs during the procedure. If you have a history with bleeding, swollen, or receding gum-line, I highly recommend Dr. Witt's consultation. I drove over an hour away specifically for Dr. Witt's talent. Shirley, the office manager, is passionate about her job. She takes care of business! She will help you find every possible way to get the best quality treatment as quickly as you can. After all, the best day to start being heathy was yesterday! She is the best at what she does. I feel that she provides many options and a positive sense of urgency to take better care of your oral health. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this dental office based on my experience…read more I visited Temple Terrace Smiles once, in July 2025, for a simple cleaning. In September 2026, after receiving repeated scheduling texts, I called to book another cleaning and specifically asked about my new Humana insurance. I was told they accepted Humana, so I believed I could continue going there. Later, only after I specifically asked about coverage, I was told they were actually out of network and that I could potentially be responsible for up to 80% of the cost. I know my plan covers significantly more when using an in-network provider. There is a huge difference between "accepting" an insurance company and actually being in network, and that should have been clearly explained before scheduling. It was not. Because of that, I canceled the appointment by text. Only after I canceled was I suddenly told that I had an unpaid balance from my July 2025 visit. This was the first time I had ever heard about it. I had active dental insurance through my previous employer at the time and provided the office with my insurance information. For more than a year, I received no bill, email, phone call, or notice that there was an insurance problem or outstanding balance. The office had no problem repeatedly contacting me to schedule another appointment, yet somehow never mentioned this balance until I canceled. They then asked whether they should try billing my old insurance. That makes no sense to me because I had already provided that insurance information when the policy was active. If there was a problem submitting the claim or processing my insurance, I should have been notified months ago. This was an office billing issue, not something I caused. The office manager later told me she was not the manager at the time and did not know what happened. I understand she may not have personally been responsible, but that does not shift the responsibility onto the patient. The office is still responsible for properly handling its billing and notifying patients when there is an issue. My concern now is that more than a year has passed and my previous insurance may not even accept the claim because of how long the office waited. I should not suddenly become responsible for a balance I was never told existed because of a billing issue on their end. It also makes me wonder what would have happened if I had simply shown up for this new cleaning without asking questions. Would I have been surprised at the front desk with a year-old balance? And what if this involved expensive dental work instead of a cleaning? That would be a nightmare. I rarely leave one-star reviews and will gladly update this review if they resolve the issue, successfully bill the insurance that was active at the time, or remove the balance from my account. The dentist himself was nice, but unfortunately the communication and billing practices from the office felt misleading and unprofessional. If this much confusion can happen over a simple cleaning, I would be very hesitant to trust them with expensive dental work. Unless this is resolved, I cannot recommend this office.

There is nothing better than a practitioner who "nerds out" on what he does - you know he's passionate about it. I immediately liked them both. Over the years, I grew alongside the practice. Despite expanding, adding another office, and relocating to Brandon, Dr. Arnold, Teri, and the rest of the staff remained exactly what made them special from the beginning: grounded, professional, caring, and genuinely invested in my dental health. They always worked with me as partners to achieve the best possible outcomes. In many ways, they felt more like friends than healthcare providers. One thing that always impressed me about Dr. Arnold is his honesty. He doesn't sugarcoat anything--you get a straightforward assessment of your condition and the available options. At the same time, he provides thoughtful, well-developed treatment plans and clearly explains each option so you can make informed decisions. His directness is balanced by compassion, empathy, and a complete absence of judgment. Teri and the office staff are absolute experts when it comes to insurance and billing. If there's a way to maximize your benefits and minimize your costs, they'll find it. When I underwent Invisalign treatment to correct an overbite that was largely cosmetic rather than functional, Dr. Arnold and his staff helped me take advantage of discounts and other opportunities that saved me literally thousands of dollars. Another quality I greatly appreciated is Dr. Arnold's attention to detail. He can be a perfectionist--and in cosmetic dentistry, that's a tremendous asset. He was completely transparent about this, and while I appreciated his commitment to achieving the best possible result, I wasn't eager to spend another few years in Invisalign trays. We discussed it openly, aligned on our goals, and developed a plan we were both happy with. That experience perfectly reflects one of Dr. Arnold's greatest strengths: communication. The dentist was there and gone in a blink, mentioned a cavity, however I am always skeptical when they say that because the next time I come back, all is well with supposed cavity. So, my recommendation for that is to always try to take care of it yourself unless it's been an issue/etc.. however, I am not a dentist. I take pretty good care of my teeth to avoid problems though. He listened, explained the exact procedure, and what needed to be done. Once I agreed, Dr. Byars went to work - it was painless. I was so surprised (and HAPPY) that I did not jump out of the chair once! Follow-up instructions were followed, and I didn't have any problems or pain after the numbing shots wore off. I did not feel that much additional testing was done, and I was not provided with a complete treatment plan. The biggest problem was the communication afterward. I requested additional information about the proposed treatment, self-pay pricing, and my dental images. Although some X-rays were provided, several important questions remained unanswered. I sent multiple follow-up emails and called the office several times. I was repeatedly told that someone would get back to me but I still did not receive the requested information or clear answers. Based on my experience, the $49 promotion felt more like a way to get new patients through the door before presenting them with expensive treatment recommendations. Combined with the lack of clear follow-up and difficulty obtaining basic information, the entire experience left me very uncomfortable. I would not recommend visiting this office.
