Great service!! We had Denon & Doyle for our wedding last month, for the DJ and lighting. I was in contact with Sue who was very responsive to my emails, then my husband and I came to their showcase where we can meet up with all the DJs, see all their lighting and photo booth options. The showcase really helped us to make our decisions. Two weeks before the wedding we met up with Brian and Ed. They were very nice to work with! Ed showed us the color options for the lighting and make sure we got the best color to build the atmosphere at the wedding. As for the song list, we didn't have specific songs in minds for the dinner and dance, but we told them what kind of music that we like and don't like. It turned out really great! Tyrone Spencer was the deejay for our wedding in May 2013 in Tiburon. Of all the decisions couples have to make in planning our wedding, this was one of our best ones! My husband and I attended the Denon & Doyle showcase a few months prior and met with several deejays. We instantly connected with Tyrone's warm and fun personality and decided to book him on the spot. When we came home, naturally I began reading Yelp reviews and was devastated to see negative reviews written about Tyrone. We thought about maybe switching deejays for a moment, but we decided to go with our gut and stick with Tyrone. I am SO glad we did! Tyrone was professional, responsive to the audience, and most importantly - got our guests to dance! From the bridal party and family introductions, Tyrone triple checked all name pronunciations (our family has a number of tricky non-phonetic names!) and introduced everyone accurately and with enthusiasm. My husband and I decided to play "Danza Kuduro" right after our introductions and before dinner to set the mood for the night, and EVERY SINGLE PERSON was off their seats and was on the dance floor! Our guests kept raving fun that was and how they had never seen that done at a wedding before. Tyrone kept the energy up for the rest of the evening, playing songs off our request list and guest requests, which was perfect for our taste and crowd. He kept the program going seamlessly, checking in with us when appropriate to make sure we were ready for the next event - speeches, first dances, etc. I really appreciated that because we kept getting caught up in conversations with our guests and loved having a little nudge to keep the evening on track. What can I say? This team was great and super easy to work with. Sue helped coordinate all of the paperwork and payment. Mark was our DJ and he was AMAZING at coordinating all of our odd requests throughout the night. This team was super professional with their own showcase events. We were able to go back and forths on a few pricing options based on our budget contraints. We landed on a DJ for the night and some uplighting. Before the event, everything was super easy. We had a call with Sue. And then we just worked out of the worksheet that the team uses. Made planning super easy. About two weeks before the event, we got on the phone with Martin and walked through everything. He accommodated our various speeches, early first dances, and a few dance requests from my parents (a waltz and a Viennese waltz). Day of - everything was set up quickly and easily. Sue Doyle, the co owner was extremely helpful and responsive in all our pre-wedding preparations. We went with DJ Kevin Hartman and he was fantastic!! He was extremely friendly, brought allhis DJ equipment, set up the lapel mic for our officiant and hand held mic for our ceremony and he played all our favorite songs! DJ Kevin is very low key and respectful, making announcements tastefully and was always committed to our wedding coordinators schedule. My husband and I are definfintely "old souls" when it comes to music and DJ Kevin played all our favorites from Andrea Bocelli and Frank Sinatra to The Beatles and AC DC. We hired Denon & Doyle to supply a photo booth for our wedding...and we couldn't have been more pleased!! The photo booth was a HUGE hit with our guests. Many people said "this is sooo much fun...such a great idea!" And because of the silly hats/glasses/etc. that D & D provided, our hilarious friends, and probably a little alcohol...the photos are classic! D & D was always very responsive during the planning process - answering our questions and helping us determine the best package to fit our needs. The day of the event, we didn't have to worry about a single thing - they got there early and were setup before any guests arrived. The photo booth attendant was wonderful - friendly, enthusiastic, and helpful. It was great having someone there to help people know what to do and how to do it (even though it's very easy to figure out how to take the photos it was nice having someone there to facilitate things). We didn't have people JUST take photos though - we had D & D supply a scrapbook so everyone could paste their photo strip in the book and write a note next to it. We used this as our guest book and we're so glad we did! It's the most fun and personal guest book I've ever seen. I keep looking through it over and over again because the photos are so funny. So when we finally decided to go with a DJ for our wedding reception music, I had no doubt that Denon and Doyle was the perfect choice! A couple of weeks before the wedding, we simply sent them our list of requests, list of "please do not play" songs, and our DJ delivered! 5 stars on the service! Sue Doyle & Mark Addington were so great to work with during the prepping process. Always responsive, answered the phone and my questions! I really appreciate them both. Our DJ Tim, was right on time, there were a few hiccups during the night, but I think he tried his best. When he speaks, he really grabs everyones attention. He reminds me of Dustin Hoffman in Meet the Fockers. My only complaint is I wish he could've been a little bit more proactive and attentive, but I think I chose the option where I wanted them to be more hands off and therefore he was. Music was great and he knew how to work the crowd, which was my main concern. I also rented a photobooth from them, the attendant did an awesome job, I didn't catch his name. We initially rented the APM APM booth, but I was worrying because I found out that there was no curtain in the back, unless you get the one that covers the whole thing. Anyway, at the last minute Sue contacted me and offered me an upgrade, that really made my week, thank you Sue. D&D has the greatest service ever. It was great, very informative and helpful (especially for those of us who have never hired a DJ). These guys are amazing! You can totally trust them with your wedding entertainment! Tyrone, our DJ, was perfect!! He was so accommodating and brought the right amount of energy to the party! He kept us on schedule and checked in periodically. The dance floor was packed all night and we even had 'extra' dance floors popping up. His interaction was perfect - he was very entertaining, yet didn't steal the show. One of the highlights: We did a same sex dance song, where everyone had to dance with someone of the same sex. He did this so tastefully, that I can't imagine anyone being uncomfortable. We had them provide out photobooth, too and it was perfect! My husband and I hired Kevin Hartman from Denon and Doyle to DJ our wedding in July and we are so happy that we did. Everyone at Denon and Doyle is very professional and they definitely know what they are doing. We had a few phone calls with Kevin before the wedding, and he really spent time to understand what we wanted. He was great at giving us suggestions on songs and helping us with timeline questions, and we knew we were in good hands. One the day of the wedding, he did a great job of keeping the night flowing, following the timeline we came up with and keeping everything fun. He kept our guests (including us) dancing all night. We had so much fun at the wedding and it turned out exactly has we wanted, a big, fun party! We also went to one of Denon and Doyle's regular DJ showcases before the wedding where they walk you through a whole wedding and give suggestions on how the timeline should go, various songs you can use, etc. The DJ showcase very helpful, and we lucked out that Kevin was the DJ for that event, so we got to see him in action before the wedding. Best vendor at our wedding...hands down. I originally went with Denon and Doyle because they were listed in The Knot for Best of Weddings. I found them to be very professional throughout the entire wedding process. They were very organized and ended up contacting me several times to get information so the event went smoothly. Our DJ, Chris, was AMAZING!!! He really did make our reception wonderful. While we were taking pictures, he was getting us champagne and anything else we wanted/needed. He was more into making our day perfect then our own wedding planner! He kept all of the guests entertained and as a bride, one of my fears is that no one would dance. Chris was so good at his job that the dance floor was never empty. He even through in a little "surprise" with a little game that had the entire room on the floor dying with laughter. Very impressed. I was not sure about getting a DJ service for our wedding. I know lots of DJs, musicians, worked at a college radio station and both me and my (now) husband like eclectic music. We decided to go to one of the open house events that Denon & Doyle puts on to give people an idea of how music and an Emcee can tie your event together, it seemed clear that wrangling a crowd of over 120 people shouldn't be left up to an iPod and a set of speakers. I also was a little concerned that they had a list of the top 100 most requested songs at weddings, and everything on the list made me queasy. I contacted them with a wish list of our musical tastes, which was "can you mix Tom Jones, Nine Inch Nails and Earth, Wind and Fire?" One of the DJs actually requested to do our wedding. The music was great, Patrick was able to mix together music that was fun and kept within our tastes. He was able to direct the crowd through various points of the evening from the dinner to announcing the shuttle buses to go home at the end of the evening. The other star attraction was the PHOTO BOOTH. Also a service of Denon and Doyle. It was the hit of the evening. They brought a huge variety of silly hats and props. There was a line the whole night to do photos, and it made the best souvenir and memory of the night. Seeing all the images after the wedding really showed that everyone had a great time. Denon and Doyle really are able to provide a variety of entertainment, and it was nice to have it packaged together and one less vendor to have to juggle. Patrick was awesome. read more

I've fought off writing Yelp reviews for over 5 years but decided to break that and write reviews for my wedding vendors who all did an amazing job at our wedding in April 2014. We used this vendor for our photo booth and it was extremely popular among the guests. The team was also responsive and easy to coordinate with. The photo booth attendant that actually worked on our wedding night was extremely energetic, friendly, and helpful - the guests loved talking to him. He brought a great energy to those waiting in line and gave great prop recommendations. The attendant also stayed late so that my husband, family and I could take some photos together since we didn't have time during the actual reception. I believe our attendant's name was Kahler. You could definitely go for a cheaper company, but I believe this one provided great quality. Overall, the photos turned out great and I loved our investment in it for the wedding! read more

He was spot on with the music and played all of our "must plays" at the right times. He also created just the right kind of atmosphere needed to get the crowd excited to dance. I can only speak to one DJ in particular (though we went to the showcase and they definitely have others that impressed) - BINKY. That's his name. Ask for him directly. I hired Denon & Doyle for my wedding reception on 9/25/10 at Brix in Yountville. Everything Denon & Doyle did for our wedding was amazing! I spoke with Brian on the phone a few days before our wedding to outline the music and timeline details, doing almost all the wedding planning myself, he was very helpful. I was behind on picking specific songs I wanted played, but Brian gave me a call and we had everything figured out very quickly! Our DJ really saved the day too- Abe was amazing! Abe was so helpful, especially on the spot when our timeline changed because our wedding party's limo got a flat tire. His demeanor with all the guests was perfect. Better late than never! We hired Denon & Doyle for AV, DJ, and photobooth for our June wedding in Oakland. DJ Tim was super friendly and accommodating to my guests, and hit all of our music cues perfectly. On top of that, when my catering vendor messed up our schedule we asked Tim and his assistant (who staffed the photo booth all night) to move everything back outside - they did it in 5 minutes flat. There are many DJ outfits that can play the right tunes and get people dancing, but one thing that makes D&D stand out is their pre-event service, including patience with countless emails, changes of plans and questions. I'm pretty detail-oriented, and do event planning as part of my professional life, so I had very particular ideas about the timeline and flow of the event for my daughter's bat mitzvah party. I peppered owner/manager Dan and our MC Mason with a lot of pre-event questions and semi-anxious queries, not to mention much back and forth about the technology issues associated with showing two separate photo montages/movies. They were, without fail, highly responsive, professional and reassuring. I felt from the beginning that they were partners in my daughter's bat mitzvah. I appreciated their organization and patience. And the event itself was exceptional. We had a lunchtime party, where the potential for early fizzle and lack of dancing energy is always higher than for a nighttime event, but Mason and DJ David knew just what notes to hit and how to get the kids and adults grooving and having a great time. (It probably helped amp up the energy level that I, the mother of the bat mitzvah, was dancing on the tables, but that's a story for another time.) I initially interviewed a much more expensive DJ for this event, but something told me I'd be getting way more bang for the buck by going with D&D. I'm so glad I did. read more

I don't even know where to start! From the very beginning (almost two years before my wedding, because I am crazy), I knew Denon & Doyle was going to be amazing. I first had my inquiries answered by Sue who was always very timely, sweet and informative. I then started corresponding with the DJ I was interested in himself, Mr. Mark Haggerty. He was so amazing. As a small yet important sidenote: I was initially interested in using Denon & Doyle for lighting services in addition to DJ services and Mark went above and beyond to give me photos and videos of lighting they had done at my venue. Top notch service. (We ended up going through someone else for lighting but that had absolutely nothing to do with Denon & Doyle's work or their pricing--both of which looked fantastic! ) Now, as far as the actual event itself...Mark really exceeded all of my expectations. He called me a couple of days before the wedding and put my (crazed) mind at ease. He really made me feel like everything was going to run smoothly and boy was he right! On the day of the wedding, he introduced everyone perfectly, played all the music we asked to be played and best of all: KEPT THE PARTY GOING! As our one year anniversary fast approaches, it is time that I make good on the promise I made to DJ Chris Mowery on our wedding night last September....that I would sing his praises for the OUTSTANDING job he did for us! Let me start by saying that Denon & Doyle is a first class operation! Hands down, they are professional and lived up to the glowing recommendation that we were given to use them. Can not say much more! Now to Chris....I have to say from the minute we met there was a connection that we felt that was both exciting and reassuring! He got our (OK, my then fiancé's!) ideas of what we envisioned for the perfect night. He had the songs we (OK, she!) wanted and created a playlist that was sure to please. All in all, the consultation was quick and efficient and put us both at ease, that THIS was going to be one less thing to worry about! On the Big Day, Chris was set up early and was able to work with our videographer to make certain they were able to capture every moment. His attention to detail was amazing! He got us through the ceremony and shall I say...got the party started! Chris went above and beyond with his attentiveness to us and our wedding party. I was blown away at how much time he spent making sure we had food to eat and beverages to drink! He literally knew the Banquet Captain and made certain the First Class service never stopped! We just got married last Friday and were fortunate enough to have found Denon and Doyle. We first attended an open house they hosted and were beyond impressed by every staff member we talked to. We decided on Mark Addington as our DJ because we hit it off with him at the open house. From the day we signed our contract until the day of the wedding, they were great to communicate and work with. They made us feel very comfortable with our decision to hire them. Addington absolutely nailed our ceremony and reception. We could not be more happy with the job he did. He was fantastic when he was on the microphone making announcements as well as his music selection. He also did a fantastic job editing our first dance song from about 4 minutes and 30 seconds to about 2 minutes and did so in a way that no one probably even knew the song was edited. We also had a photobooth from Denon and Doyle. The booth was a hit and it was spacious enough for many people to be in at once. The props were awesome and everyone had a great time with them. My wife and I were also really impressed when the photobooth attendant came to us to make sure we were able to get some pictures together in the booth while there were 100 other things distracting us from getting over to it. Denon and Doyle, and especially Mark Addington, met every expectation we had and exceeded them. We would highly recommend them for a wedding, party, or any other reason you need a DJ! read more

Mark Haggerty is AWESOME! My ideal wedding was tons of dancing. Everyone that was physically able to dance was on the dance floor dancing. He did great during the ceremony and even played music during the dinner which I didn't even think about! I couldnt have asked for a better DJ than Mark! Our DJ, Mark Haggerty, from Denon and Doyle made our wedding day so much fun and run so smoothly -- we cannot recommend him and Denon and Doyle highly enough if you're looking for a great wedding DJ! First of all, Mark was incredibly friendly and helpful in making sure our day went perfectly. He genuinely was looking out for our best interests, and met with us the week before to go over the game plan and helped us with some last-minute changes that really made the day go much more smoothly. He has a wonderful depth of experience and is so nice! Mark did the sound for our ceremony and made a somewhat complex participatory event run smoothly and made sure it was audible for everyone. As he said, his standard for wedding ceremonies is "perfection". Once at the reception, he had a wonderful playlist for our cocktail hour that didn't disturb conversation but was also really upbeat and had everyone smiling. He was a great MC, organized but not overbearing, and rolled with the time as things ran a little long. Once we got into dancing, he was excellent in leading the anniversary dance and making it fun leading into the cake, and knowing when to play each of our requests in addition to current and classic dance songs. He took a reasonable number of requests from our guests and managed to fold them into the flow. Everyone commented on how fun it was, and one of my friends even said it was "the best dance party ever"! I personally danced the whole night and was never bored or disappointed with a single song, and many others were consistently out there with me. Please give Denon and Doyle a call for your next wedding! Sue at the front desk was really helpful and pointed us towards Mark, who you should snag if you get a chance! We reached out to Denon & Doyle for their photo booth services as they came highly recommended from our wedding coordinator. We received a response from Sue within 24 hours and the whole process from there on out was easy and seamless. While Denon & Doyle was the only photo booth vendor we reached out to, upon research of several other providers, we realized Denon & Doyle had by far, the most variety and options at a very reasonable price. Not only did they offer different photo booth styles (open booth, a more traditional closed booth, in-motion, etc), but they also offered a a number of lighting options, backdrops (sequins, floral, streamers), and photo templates (strips vs 4x6). We decided to go for the open booth as we felt it would be the best fit for our reception space and vibe. From there, we worked with Megan on designing our template. She was very accommodating with incorporating our custom monogram, matching up the font type with the rest of our wedding stationary and paper goods, and playing around with various formats to settle on the design we liked best. On the day of the wedding, the photo booth set up went smoothly. Our attendant was kind and professional with helping our guests with props and navigating the process. We were pleased that the booth printed high quality photos to take home and also gave guests an option to email and text the images to themselves for easy sharing. The booth got traffic all night long and was clearly a hit. A few days after the wedding, we received a full photo booth link where we could see all the photos taken over the course of the night.
