His familiarity with the venue was very helpful and it was evident he has worked his fair share of weddings, which was helpful for me as I asked him plenty questions during our planning process. Communication was great, I wanted to have a lot of control over the music played during our reception. Some DJs aren't receptive to that but Sonny was. He helped me think through the pros and cons of that decision but ultimately left it up to me, and he was very receptive to the music I wanted him to play. I sent over a playlist for our cocktail hour/dinner and then a different playlist for once the dance floor was open, and he stuck with it! We had so much fun and our dance floor was lively. 10/10 would recommend him!

We needed a DJ team that would follow our very specific program for the evening, but also bring energy and creativity to the dance floor--DJ Isak met and exceeded the bar! The program went seamlessly thanks to his announcements and great teamwork with our event planning team. Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu music were not in his regular rotation, yet he was able to mix it seamlessly with our favorite EDM, Hip-Hop, and Taylor Swift tracks. Even the 360 photo booth (a big hit with our guests) was managed efficiently, and Luis brought positive energy and a smile to the whole experience. This review is for communication etiquette only. I inquired wedding planning services with Laurisa…read moreafter reading all of the good reviews. After my inquiry she text me to see what my need was which was day of coordinating. She sent over an email explaining her prices and services. After reviewing everything I had some questions regarding her pricing/services so I emailed back on 8/7 and never heard back. So I texted her on 8/27 to see if she got my email etc her reply to me was "Hi! Oh no, I apologize! What's your name?" That was a bit of a red flag to me but I understand this profession is busy and life happens so I resent our prior conversation to refresh her memory. From there we set up a time to chat the next morning. We scheduled our call at 11am. She never called at 11am so I called her and she never picked up. So I texted her and she replied that she had woke up late because she was at a wedding until 2am and could call me in 10 min. At that point I decided to inquire with someone else. Nothing against this company, I have heard great things but communication is number 1 for me. If communication starts off rough that's usually a red flag for me because if it's like that now I'm not sure how it would be on my wedding day... so unfortunately I did not book with Laurisa

Laurisa was our worst nightmare in planning a wedding…read more We hired Laurisa as a wedding coordinator and were so excited to work with her. Admittedly there were a few red flags but we excused her lack of experience and reasoned she made up for it with her energy and can-do spirit. Boy were we wrong. Unfortunately Laurisa was consistently late, didn't deliver what she promised, and when we expressed concerns and asked her if she had a back up-plan in the event she's exposed to COVID on our wedding day (as supposedly happened when she bailed at the last second for our walk-through of the venue), she stopped responding completely!?! She walked away with our $1,000 deposit and won't respond to calls, texts or emails from us pleading with her to return our deposit so we can hire a new coordinator. Added stress of being out a grand, upon an already stressful situation of having a key vendor bail almost a month before the wedding. Please save the stress and AVOID at all costs.

I was scrambling, but Mike responded right away and confirmed their availability. We are a blended Arab-Latino family. Although DJ Chuck Macki didn't have a lot of Arabic music, he absolutely crushed it that night..he built off a playlist we sent him, and took requests on the fly from guests who would text him links to the songs. He is such a skilled DJ, he transitioned then Arabic songs with the Latin ones so smoothly. He was also dressed so nicely, and was really respectful of our conservative family, but had no problem playing the real shiz when they had all gone home. :-) DJ Chuck literally made our wedding the blast it was. I totally recommend Grand Slam and hope you will give them a try.

Shannon saved our wedding over and over again -- we couldn't have asked for a better wedding…read moreplanned. From the beginning, she was amazing. She describes herself as a "mellow Type A", and that's really true. She's not in-your-face and intense like some of the planners we considered, and yet she gets the job done beautifully, is super on top of her stuff, and shines when obstacles arise (before and during day-of). We had a relatively complicated wedding, for ~130 guests, 2 completely different locations for ceremony and reception, and a lot of customization. Shannon was incredibly patient with us all the way, and truly understood what mattered and what didn't, and helped us create a day that truly looked like us. She also calmed us during the entire process, even when we hit major snags (like having the bar company cancel on us the week before the wedding) -- her expertise and know-how really came to shine during those times. All throughout, she was a pleasure to work with. We'd hire her over again and again. Thank you, Shannon, for your amazing work!

Is the DJ keeping people on the dance floor? A lot of guys out there are charging a bunch just to play music. He has years of actual experience DJing, from big venues to personal events such as wedding receptions and private parties. He definitely know what it takes to get people into the music. He's got DJing down to an art. He's been the DJ at several events that I've been to and he has never disappointed. Some people call themselves DJs just because they can play MP3s from a laptop. Jaleco is a legit turntable artist. He always gets a good feel from the crowd, and he's able to put together playlists on the fly. And he DEFINITELY keeps the dance floor packed.
