Shannon managed our wedding in October 2012 and I cannot say enough about how wonderful she was. She is incredibly creative and has TONS of ideas on how to make things look good without breaking the bank. She also scheduled regular check-ins, developed an extensive timeline for us, and worked directly with our vendors to develop relationships and review plans before the wedding. She managed all of our vendors (very complicated because of the space) as well as the whole flow of the wedding and reception. I have worked with Shannon for multiple events over the past year, and in each instance, she has proved invaluable. First, I enlisted Shannon's help for my wedding last August. It was a tiny event--8 guests on a hill overlooking the ocean at Point Reyes and a small party at our home the night before the ceremony with 30 or so friends and family. Yet even for such a small event, it was incredibly helpful to have Shannon involved. In my conversations with Shannon before the wedding (face-to-face, email/chat, and phone), she immediately understood this was essentially a DIY event. She offered to do as much or as little as I needed. We brainstormed decorations and food ideas. She even loaned me books on DIY weddings for inspiration. The night of our party, Shannon arrived a few hours early to help set up. She brought an array of beautiful platters and serving dishes and took charge of getting the food table ready. Shannon rocks! She was our wedding planner for my wedding at the end of September. We met with her when she was down in LA for work, which was great because we were able to see if our ideal wedding ideas meshed well. She was extremely helpful with our "destination" wedding up in the Bay Area. I believe we starting working with her in March and from the beginning she got us on track with the important details first and made sure we stayed on track. She was extremely helpful with making decisions and always gave her opinion without pushing it on us. Her advice was always sound and she really knows what she's talking about. I can't say enough good things about Shannon. We had her help us with month-of planning for our wedding. First off, she has the perfect personality for her job. I was a little stressed (and a little anal) about things and she was so calm and relaxed about everything. We got off each of our calls and felt comfortable again, like everything was taken care of. And on the day of the wedding, she had everything under control and managed to not seem stressed at all which just made us feel better. Secondly, she does her job well. I am an extremely picky and detailed person and Shannon not only entertained my ridiculous requests for things to track, but she did it to a level of detail that I didn't need to change (which is not normal). And everything on the day of went off without a hitch. Thirdly, she went above and beyond on multiple occasions. We had no one to watch our 3 month old niece since both her parents were in the wedding party and Shannon's assistant happily played the role of babysitter during the ceremony. Then after the reception we had an elderly grandmother who needed to get a cab home from the hotel we were at and she not only took it upon herself to get one ordered and there but took her out to the cab stand herself and made sure she was tucked away and all set. Above all that, last but not least, she was so much more reasonably priced than everyone else out there (literally less than half their price) and it's not one of those you get what you pay for situations because I can't imagine one of the $2000 or $3000 planners doing a better job. Shannon planned a baby shower I hosted for my sister at my house. The weekend was crazy...my sister got married on Saturday and the shower was Sunday. I was overwhelmed to say the least. Shannon and I met once and had a few email exchanges to review the theme, ideas for decor, timing and budget. The next thing I knew, food was ordered, tables/chairs and linens delivered and set up, the house and garden were tastefully decorated with a mix of store bought and original Shannon-made art. We hired Shannon as our wedding coordinator for our September 2016 wedding, and we are so glad we did! Hiring Shannon was one of the best wedding planning decisions we made, hands down. Shannon offers an awesome service called "month of" coordination, which was perfect for us. Basically, we did most of the planning ourselves (hiring vendors and such), but then about six weeks before the wedding we handed off all the vendor contracts to Shannon and she took over communicating with all the vendors. This was INCREDIBLY helpful in terms of keeping us sane in the last six weeks of planning. Shannon created the timeline for the wedding day and made sure all the vendors knew when and where to show up, worked out last minute details with the caterer, helped us figure out how to rent cocktail tables at the last minute, made several key recommendations about how to arrange the ceremony and reception areas, communicated effectively with the disorganized staff of our venue, and made sure to schedule regular phone check-ins with us to make sure everything was on track. She really helped us stay sane by helping us feel like everything was under control. On the day of, Shannon managed all the logistics (greeting all the vendors and showing them where to set up, arranging tables and chairs, setting up and operating our rented speaker system, showing guests where to go, making sure everything stayed on schedule, packing everything up at the end of the day and making sure it went home with the right people, returning the rented speaker system for us, etc.). This meant that we didn't have to worry about ANY of this and could focus on enjoying the company of our family and friends. It was fabulous. Shannon is amazing. Not only is she super-efficient at what she does, she was a blast to work with. We were planning our wedding remotely and hired Shannon for her month-of coordination package. In those last stressful weeks, it was such a relief to have someone step in and help us. I was being a little controlling with the wedding planning (i.e. we had not really asked any family or friends for help), but after a few phone calls I felt comfortable letting Shannon take over. Her experience was evident in that she was able to give us really good advice on things we were going back and forth on, and letting us know things we hadn't thought. She was very organized, and she works in google docs, sheets, etc... Since we were already using the google system for all our wedding planning, it fit in seamlessly for us. For the day-of-coordination, Shannon was perfect. Everyone commented on how friendly and in control she was. She didn't take over our day, but she had taken the time to learn what we wanted and executed it for us. We were able to completely relax and enjoy the day because we knew that she was taking care of everything! One of my favorite (silly) moments of the night was when I was standing totally still on the dance floor, struggling to order an Uber for our ride back to the hotel (we knew neither of us would be able to drive). Shannon must have seen me struggling with the phone, because she swooped in, grabbed the phone, let me get back to dancing for those last few songs, and the next thing I know she's telling us the Uber was there. She also came very prepared. My dad was tasked with taking home all the decorations, extra booze, etc. My dad said that she had a wagon to help her bring the stuff out to his truck so he could keep loading. After a long day, he was grateful to be able to just concentrate on loading the stuff and not running around the venue gathering it all up. Shannon successfully planned our American wedding on June 30th at a winery in Healdsburg. Please read my earlier review for everything she helped with leading up to the wedding. During the few days prior to the wedding and the day of, Shannon helped me finalize design ideas. I made numerous shopping trips for decorations, some of which Shannon accompanied me to and others during which she was available by phone/text for feedback. She handled all the vendors with ease, aided my communication with them, and took over many of my other responsibilities to help ease my load.
